Cons: issues with left clicks solved with firmware update

Pros: this mouse is extreamly comfortable
Comment:
its a great mouse once you have it set up I had to get beta drivers from support (which was really helpful) for my clicking issues to be fixed.

Quality mouse, I'm very impressed with this purchase. Perfect for gaming, loads of sensitivity and it just glides across the mousepad. The supplied weights are more than sufficient and stuffing them all in gives the owner a reassuringly heavy mouse. Minimal pinky drag and fantastic comfort + ergonomics. Only problems I had were some firmware bugs (on win 7 64bit), nothing too major and no hindrance at all. If you are in the market for a $60+ gaming mouse, I would highly recommend that you look the Mionix Naos 5000.

Cons: - ergonomics

Pros: - nice looking mouse- good illumination- ergonomics
Comment:
I really liked this mouse, not as much as I thought I would though. The ergonomics were good, but just not a perfect fit for my hand. The feel of it got better as time went on, but never to the point of absolutely loving it. I have small hands, and maybe that was my problem.

Cons: firmware, the software in general

Pros: Comfy, great design
Comment:
The mouse in general is good looking and seems to be a good mouse if it had worked for me, I tried it for the first few minutes and it was starting to jitter when I was in the software mouse pad tracking feature, I tried rebooting but the problem persisted. I then figured out I could upgrade the firmware of the mouse from Mionix, but the update  failed and I end up with a bricked near 100$ mouse.

Cons: One of the worst tracking mice I have ever had. Look on Mionix website, they have a note that if the lift sensitivity is set to low tracking problems occur. I've tried all i can do, can't use it for windows or gaming.

Pros: Mouse and software look nice. It's comfortable, good size for big hands
Comment:
Will not purchase this again or any Mionix product.Price is way to high at 90 bucks, worst tracking I've ever encountered. Wish NCIX would give me a credit towards buying another mouse.Completely Unsatifactory

Pros: Very smooth and accurate. The mouse feels really good. Love the weight system.

Overall I'm happy with the mouse, it works great. I'm just a little disappointed that the LEDs don't work correctly.

Pros: Very comfortableCustomizableGreat software and features
Comment:
This might be the most comfortable mouse I've ever used (physically), it feels super nice in my hand and the button response and ergonomics feels just about perfect. However, on a somewhat intermittent basis, this thing would go super-laggy, up to 1-2 seconds behind actual mouse movement. This would last for 4-5 seconds, about 3 or 4 times a day.Overall, though, this mouse just doesn't seem smooth. No matter how much I adjust the acceleration or the DPI, I can't get it to move like what I'm used to. I had very high hopes for this mouse, and planned on buying a Zibal 60 to go along with it, but now I've decided to return the mouse and not risk buying the Zibal at all.

This is the perfect ikari alternative since the ikari is EOL. It feels 90% the same. Let's hope it does not double click over time like my 3 ikaris

Cons: -may not work with legacy USB enabled-scroll wheel button presses too easily-the bells and whistles aren't implemented very well-software is glitchy

Pros: -rubberized shell coating is nice-lots of bells and whistles-smooth gliding-good button placement
Comment:
Overall this is a nice mouse if it fits your hand, but I do feel it's a bit over-hyped. FYI I mainly use a palm grip, and I'm upgrading from an original Razer DeathAdder so a lot of this review will be comparing it and the Naos.My out-of-the-box experience was not all that great. The cable is >6" shorter than the DeathAdder. While for most people this would not be a problem, the fact that cable length is not provided in the specs made this an unpleasant surprise. More concerning, once the mouse was plugged in the cursor was visibly jittery, as though the sensor could not read the surface. It behaved this way on my bare desk, an old Allsop Metal Art pad, as well as with both Razer pads I had handy (a Goliathus "Speed" and a Goliathus "Control"). This did go away after a short time, but I was not able to determine the cause.Installing the driver software and updating the firmware was easy and clean. Just when my initial unease was starting to subside, I restarted my system... Only to find my board (Gigabyte EP45-DS4P) could not POST with the Naos 5000 plugged in. After re-flashing the Naos' firmware and lowering RAM voltages (due to a BIOS error message apparently caused by the mouse) and having no luck, I managed to correct the problem by disabling the "USB mouse support" (aka legacy) switch in the CMOS' Integrated Peripherals section. Whether this is a problem with the mouse or the motherboard's coding is unknown; whether it extends to real legacy hardware likewise. So if you play old games in DOS or Win9x, this may not be the mouse for you.Once these issues were taken care of, I did start to enjoy the actual build of the mouse. The size is similar to the DeathAdder, but your hand sits on top of the shell more, where with the DeathAdder it tends to curl around it. Much more comfortable in my opinion, though as with all one-size-fits-all equipment not everyone will like the ergonomics. The surface is much less "gooey"-feeling than the DeathAdder's, and hopefully it will last a bit longer before it starts peeling. The mouse-wheel has detents (a click is felt with it's turned), but there is no accompanying noise. Excellent. The other buttons are audible but not loud, and all have a clean, positive-feeling action. I was worried the DPI-buttons would get in my way, but I haven't once hit them accidentally. The back/forward buttons on the left edge are well-placed.The design has two fairly pronounced issues, however. First, because the body of the mouse has such an uneven wedge shape it can be very difficult to find "sensor north", so when moving the mouse in a straight line, the cursor will often be moving diagonally (much more than on a mouse that's symmetrical, or that has one straight edge like the DeathAdder). While this fades with a few days practice, it can initially be quite infuriating in a high-resolution environment. The other problem has to do with the mouse wheel. Like most gaming mice it has 2-way scrolling only, and like almost all mice with scroll-wheels the wheel's button is under one side of its supports. Unfortunately, the spring (or whatever tension mechanism holds it up) does not support the wheel equally from both directions. When spinning the mouse wheel towards you there is never an issue, but when spinning it away from you, it is extremely difficult not to activate the button. Even when actively focusing on not pressing too hard, I still managed to click the wheel down every 4-5 times I scrolled. This improves very slightly after a few hours of break-in time as the wheel loosens up a bit, but it is a definite shortcoming for anyone who does a lot of work in text documents or programming where you don't always work top to bottom. People browsing webpages normally only scroll down so that's fine, but as I never use the wheel button in games, I can't guess how this will affect the target audience. Finally, on to the software package. I'm using Win7 x64, and overall my experience has been on par with Razer's drivers. That is to say: It works well enough if you leave it alone, but as soon as you look at it things get pretty flaky. The configuration program usually works as expected until the first time you save any changes. After that it is frequently slow, and in other cases will become unresponsive or crash outright. Other times the configurator won't open at all until you exit the driver from the system tray.Certain settings don't seem to have much effect, like the lift-off adjustment. Others are poorly explained or laid out - like the Test/Save buttons on the Sensor tab. Worse are the DPI/scrolling/pointer-speed slide-bars: some of which are infinitely adjustable, while others have random, invisible notches, even though they all look identical. Razer has one definite advantage here, which is that each control shows the user where to set it if they want NO filtering or interpolation by the drivers. The SQUAT is an interesting idea, but the readings are very inconsistent. It seems to depend a great deal on how fast the mouse is moved during the test, so unless Mionix adds an indicator saying speed up/slow down, the results will never be that useful. The Colour Settings tab is fairly nice, as each LED can be switched on/off separately. There are a few things missing though, such as the ability to have the DPI indicators turn on only briefly when the DPI is changed. Also, despite the cool-factor of having RGB LEDs, you are restricted to a palette of only 24 colours - most of which are indistinguishable from several others. There is no way to make your own colour, which is especially frustrating since the preset colours' "names" are their R/G/B values - which are displayed in the preview area as though they could be changed. Cons: -worst software-even though I upgraded to latest firmware, software tells me "New firmware upgrade available!". It says this every time I check for updates.

Pros: -shape is really comfortable (I used to use MX500, G500, Razer Deathadder)-rubber texture feels really nice-build quality is noticeable
Comment:
Whenever I reboot my computer, the mouse/software does not remember my settings. I have to open up the software and re-configure the settings every single time I turn my computer on. This is unacceptable. The software is a complete nightmare. Hitting OK or Apply after changing a setting takes around 30 seconds to save completely. Also, the default sensitivity after you install the software is different than when you hit "Return to Default Settings" in the Mionix software. So, if you like the way it feels right when you first install the software -- make sure you write down the settings. Sometimes the mouse cursor jitters -- I've tried different PCs, different mouse pads (QcK, Razer Destructor, Propus). My unit is probably just defective, so I ended up requesting RMA. Returning this. The shape is the best I've ever used. I liked it *A LOT* when it worked, but I really need my mice to work every single time.

after using many different mice over the years, this is by far the most comfortable, the software worked flawless on 64bit OS,highly customizable, Top quality parts. Avago ADNS-A9500 sensor and Omron D2FC-N-6N Micro Switches.I did several days of research andtalked to many gamers and many suggested this mouse, this is by far the best mouse Ive ever laid my hand on.This was my 1st order with NCIX and with the outstanding customer service this will not be my last, they even called me to confirm my price match was accepted, shipping was fast and packing was great even tho it had looked like the carrier had drop  kicked the box and had a gash in the side but with NCIX packing nothing was damaged.a review on the Miniox Naos 5000 mouse can be found herehttp://www.overclock.net/products/mionix-naos-5000-laser-mouse/reviews/4721?utm_campaign=subscription&utm_source=subscription_immediate&utm_medium=email

Cons: None other than the mouse wheel being a bit stiff out of the box but loosens up after some use.

Pros: 3 Adjustable DPI settings with indicating LED's on the left side.Rubber coating for better grip.Wide enough for ring and pinky fingers to sit comfortably and not drag on mouse pad. Adjustable multicolor LED's illuminate buttons and DPI setting.Adjustable weights and metal tin for storing unused weights.
Comment:
Best mouse I've owned since switching to laser mice from a Logitech mx518. Purchased along with Mionix's Propus 380 mouse pad, the result is smooth tracking that works great for playing games. The slightly wider size allows for entire hand to rest comfortably without having my pinky drag on the mouse pad. Out of the box the mouse wheel was a bit stiff but loosened up after some use and has a tactical feel instead of smooth scrolling.Easy to use software for changing mouse settings, sensor performance, color and macro settings. The software does not come included with the mouse and has to be downloaded from Mionix website (one less thing to throw away) but it will work out of the box on windows systems.Overall its a great mouse and not too over priced like some mice when price matched down.

Cons: - software driver sometimes gets stuck at "is not responding (might be an issue with my system) but when it works, it works!- Surface analyzer is a bit sketchy and pretty much useless but it's a nice addition. Who cares if it says it's a "poor surface", the mouse will still work as well, no problem!

Pros: - ergonomic design for right handed users- highly customizable- smooth gliding on any surface- UI is just beautiful! not to mention straight forward and user friendly
Comment:
This mouse just melts in you hand. I don't care what size your hand is, big or small, this mouse with find a home in your hand. It even has a "slot" for your pinky. The buttons are all accessible without lifting your palm off the mouse.Customizing this mouse is virtually limitless. Physically, you have the option to add or subtract weights in 5g increments. There are 8 weights in total (40g). I have mine all in there. The software is just stunning. The UI is just beautiful. I personally love plain and clean looks. It is also absolutely easy to use. Everything is pretty much straight forward. No need for a manual here. You have 5 profiles to choose and set up. The high DPI of this mouse is terrifying! I don;t even place my highest settings higher than 3000. After a while, maybe I can train myself for faster speeds. Honestly, I could have gone for the Naos 3000. But the customization options of this mouse is just in another class. Plus, it has weights which is a big plus for me since I like my mouse to have a bit of weight to them. For this price, it is cheaper and better than Logitech, Steelseries, and Razer IMO. Seriously, Razer is just ridiculously expensive. They may be great, but the price is just crazy. Logitech is okay as well as Steelseries, but for what you get in this mouse, I think it is a steal.Sometimes though, the software "hangs" for a few minutes before finally registering your settings. It is but a small hiccup for such an excellent mouse. Besides, it might not even be the software's problem. It might be my system that takes up more resources than it should. I dunno. Time to upgrade I guess?Highly recommended!

Pros: Best mouse I've ever owned.

Hands down the best mouse I have ever owned.I've heard some complaints about the fact the mouse doesn't come with the software. I dont see why, the mouse works just fine without the software right out of the box. If you do decide you want to access the advanced settings then you can download the latest software from their website. The software ui is well designed, the only complaint I have about it is that it can take a bit of time to update  your settings. You may think it has frozen, but be patient..The mouse itself feels very well engineered, both ergonomically and functionally. The buttons are all right where you would expect them to be and the they click smoothly and fairly quietly. The ability to change between three different mouse sensitivity settings on the fly is kind of neat too and probably pretty useful for FPS games.Unless you're looking for some really niche product, I don't think you can do much better than this mouse. So far it's the nicest mouse I've owned and I'll look for this brand in the future.
