far better then the window attachment base which always fell off and that is a serious distraction. bought one on a trip to Texas last fall never moved off the dash in over 2500 kms. When we bought a new GPS for our son we bought this base at the same time, no marks left of window for people to see you have a gps to break into. Kind of expensive for what it is but I must admit it does it job very well. |

This friction mount allows the GPS to be located on the dash for proper viewing. Also, it provides for easy removal to place out of sight. |

Had bad results with suction cup windshield mount falling from windshield, not due to dirty windshield but rather in cold Michigan weather. Apparently as cold windshield warms it tended to loosen suction and Garmin unit would fall. Friction mount certainly works much better in cold and we expect just as satisfactory results in warm weather. Not yet sure effect of any potential residue on dashboard from bottom of friction pad. |

The small foot print is ideal for mounting on your dash. It stays in place no matter what, if you have a Garmin, get this and don't waste your money on a bean bag mount. |

If you are going to use this, be sure not to use a dash cleaner, polisher. Be prepared to catch your Garmin and warn your front seat passenger too and put it on the seat or between seat console for safety' sake. |

This is a awesome mount if any of you are wondering if its for you leave tell you I own a 2009 Jeep and I travel a lot of dirt roads and two tracks and this mount i put on the dash of my jeep and it won't move it stays right there even on 45 degree banks now if it will stay in that kind abuse to witch i drive its not going anywhere in normal travail so don't be afraid to buy this its' well worth the money. the scarcrow |

I have had a Garmin since the first e-map series. This is my 3rd GPS device. I have always struggled with mounting GPS unites. I travel full time and see a lot of rental cars so a permanent mount is not possible. I have favored friction mounts since suction cup mounts fall off in cold or changing temperature conditions. My previous friction mount would fly off the dash during sharp turns. This unit has not moved once. If you have a GPS, get this mount. You will not regret it. |

Stays put on the dash. My dash is uneven having a ridge running from left to right, creating two levels. The friction mount stays put. Also, like the fact that this puts my GPS unit closer to me for easier viewing. Easily movable to stow out of site when parking. Great product! |

Got tired of window mount falling and unit hitting the dash. Bought the friction mount and it worked perfect. Did not move an inch. Does leave an oily area on dash but it wipes right up. Is alittle expensive for rubber and plastic. |

I travel quite a bit, and needed a good GPS mount. I saw this mount advertised, and was skeptical, but when I tried it for the first time I was amazed. It actually works, and works great! I use it in my primary vehicle and also carry the mount with me when I travel. It works great in every vehicle that I have used. |

I was sceptical when I ordered this, but I like it so much that I felt compelled to tell others to put aside any scepticism they may have. It just stays put! My dash is curved and I've never been able to set anything on it before. This just grips the dash and doesn't move! My only complaint is that, for the money, they could have included the clip that holds the GPS. A spare would have been nice to have. |

I replaced the suction mount with this product. Much better!!! It is easy to move from one vehicle to another. No more annoying "fall off the window" occurrences. It stays put wherever its placed on the dash. A little pricey ... but worth it. |
The friction mount does not move and keeps the GPS stable on the dash. Just remember not to dispose of the protective plastic base covering for use during transportation to another vehicle.
