GARMIN nüvi 680 4.3" GPS Navigation

Bought this for the Mrs' birthday. We like the bluetooth, the built-in FM transmitter and were able to update the maps by calling Garmin support. It took a while to get through to them but they were very helpful in getting the unit re-registered and activating the most current NA maps. The flip up antenna makes it a bit awkward to use as a handheld device and there are the occasional GPS glitches but all in all, very happy with this purchase.

I was impressed with all the reviews that were posted here and could not resist the great deal on this website. I got my unit and it works great. Great features overall - the bluetooth works great.I have not activated the MSN service, but can't wait to do it for my Canada trip next week. I haven't had much luck with the FM transmitter yet - lot of noise - I have not played with it enough though.

This is a great GPS, except for the fact that if you use the bluetooth feature regularly, the sound WILL disappear completely. Sadly, this is a known problem with this GPS. It is a great unit and excellent value if you don't plan to use the bluetooth feature. The sound system is just not up to the task. I returned two units, then finally gave up and am now looking for something that lives up to it's hype. I have to say though, this seller is a steller company to buy from and their customer service is excellent - the best I've ever had in a retail giant!

Just bought the refurb and it looks and preforms like brand new. The Maps loaded were dated 2009 so I am happy with that. I love how the turn by turn with street names are called out. I trust Garmin reptutation as the #1 in the GPS industry and that why I always buy GARMIN. But with anything that is too good to be true Garmin Nuvi 680 had a very weak speaker and that makes it dificult to hear what is being said. But on the bright side, $159 bucks spent on this unit still makes for a great deal

This is my first GPS. It is worth every penny for the host of features it offers. I was so impressed with its performance that I recommended the product to a few friends who all bought them and were very happy with the product's performance. In short ---Go for it and you will never regret..

Bought the Garmin 680 refurbished and hoped that it would be just as good as the other 2 Garmin units I have. I was very disappointed to find that the unit was defective - the Bluetooth did not work (would not turn on). I emailed Garmin support and they issued me a repair number etc. I waited 10 days to get the unit (when I purchased it) - then another 10 days to get it back to Garmin and back for the repair. I've had it for a few days now and it seems to be working ok. I'm not sure that I will purchase any ''refurbished'' products in the future.

We just used this GPS for an extended trip, it worked very well - Updating the maps took a while before the trip, but street names were available for even the smallest town. We were able to search for restaurants on the road and insert them as "via" points without changing the destination. The purchase from here was handled well - We received it within a week of ordering in great condition.

The unit arrived in qood order and works well. The only difficulty that we've encountered is the inability to get the Bluetooth interface to the Cellphone working, otherwise I'd recomend it.

I just got back from using this GPS for a road trip from Red Deer, Alberta to Surrey, BC. I also used it for a day trip to do some shopping just south of Surrey in Washington. It got me to all my destinations flawlessly. I was even able to look up the Outlet Malls through the GPS. The handsfree bluetooth works well, if it's compatible with your phone. I had a motorola phone RAZR and it worked great. Now I have a Palm Treo phone, and the audio sounds tinny according to people I talk to. The FM transmitter doesn't have much power, so I found it to have noticeable static. But my antenna is at the back of my car as well. If the antenna was closer it would probably be better. All in all, the GPS works great. The other features are hit and miss. For the price, I would highly recommend this product.

I had a Magellan 4250 with traffic updates that was stolen and replaced it with the Garmin 680. I am VERY happy with this purchase. I love that I can play music through my stereo system. The dynamic content by MSN is useful. My only complaint is that it sometimes takes awhile to locate satellites. I also don't like that it takes you on the surface streets instead of highways when going places.

My only criticism about this unit is with the menus. I feel that the menu items could be better organised. Even after using the unit for a couple of months now, I still find myself going through menu after menu trying to locate the function I am looking for. Extensive features for the price.

THE NUVI 680 WORKS WELL AND FINDS THE BEST ROUTE FOR YOU.IT CAME OUT OF THE BOX IN NEW CONDITION, WITH ALL ACCESSORIES INCLUDED.FREE TRAFFIC FOR A YEAR IS A DEFINITE PLUS.

Only complaints are: 1) for entering names it has an "ABCDE" keyboard instead of a "QWERTY" keyboard which is annoying 2) I can't figure out how to download my address book to the unit
