Purchased this to upgrade from a GTX 260, and it operates fantastic. Runs DX11, which the 260 does not. Also, as an individual else pointed out, this is about four inches shorter than the 260 as nicely... which means just a bit a lot more airflow. And it runs @ 30c alternatively of 50c .. ;) No cons genuinely, want it was slightly more affordable and slightly better, but it's still worth what I paid ;) Not seriously a con for the card, but I ordered this and an Asus monitor and paid for three day shipping. The card produced it in 3 days, but the monitor is seeking like six days appropriate now....

Excellent card, good upgrade from 260. Compact size. Can't stand the noise from the fan. Something above 45% is also loud. 100% is a hair dryer. Casing seems to vibrate. Poorly put together. Judging from other comments, some have a noise issue, some don't. One as well numerous in my opinion from a wonderful organization like EVGA.

these cards are awesome. have two in SLI. overclock uncomplicated. has a 134.four gb/s bandwith with my existing overclock. fan at max speed is really quiet. idle temp is about 31 and load is a little beneath 60 with fan forced to 70 via the EVGA precision toolBFBC2 with HBAO on and anti aliasing at 16x (the a single ahead of 32xq CSAA, forgot what it was) frames are stable 65 to 70.these cards are extremely really short which is very good for individuals with shorter instances.MOH beta maxed settings gets again steady 70 (cant rather recall this quantity, it was also on the larger map) FPS.all this at 1920x1200 uhh... yeah... value is excellent, and functionality is right on the funds if not much better then to be anticipated. wish i could overclock additional via the precision tool...not actually a con but... the cover on the card feels like a soft plastic, it nevertheless feels somewhat sturdy but... its not a difficult cover like say the GTX 280 for example (which is the card i am replacing.)sad I can only SLI these (no tri or quad) obtain this card in SLI if you can get your hands on it. it puts it at the same price as the GTX 480 and provides you much more efficiency (granted i havent OC a GTX 480... but i like SLI and i like low-cost cards that pack a punch and stay cool.EVGA X58 SLI boardCorsair 1000 watt PSUPatriot 3x2 1066 ramOCZ 120 gig solid state hard drive(before) GTX 280(NOW) GTX 460 in SLI

Coming from an 8800gt, this card is awesome in everything that it does. Idles at 33C due to the down clock function when operating 2D apps, this is 22C! less than my 8800gt in the similar case and the fan never ever breaks 40%, which tends to make it Really quiet. The card runs no louder than my antec tricool fans on mid setting. The 8800gt was a excellent card, but hated the temps it was placing out and fan speeds had been over 65-70%, but the 460 is operating BC2, Dragon Age, Just Lead to two, Splinter cell, WoW, and SC2 to name a few, and is barely breaking 60C at times.(SC2 on ultra is about 65C in firefights hehe...) Needs 2x PCI-E 6 pins... only a con since it suggests a different cable to have to manage :(Honestly even though, looking at price/performance and what I have skilled from it so far, this card is just outstanding.I Need A NEW PSU TO SLI THEM /SADFACE This is the 1st dual slot video card I have owned, and I didn't know if it would be a tight squeeze or not in my case, but it's essentially shorter(by just over an inch) than the 8800gt.EVGA is definitely the brand to go for, this model supplying the lifetime warranty and all, just don\'t forget to register within 30days of purchase. Also, Evga's precision tool is a wonderful addition for easy tweaking and monitoring of the card, quite effortless to use for any individual, and the free copy of Just Lead to two is a wonderful deal, awesome game to test out the card ^_^Why invest the added ten bucks on the EE version when I had the clocks to EE speeds 10mins soon after installing it?

Good replacement for my 9800GT. Handles all of my games with ease. Not sure if this was a makers defect, but the card ran extremely hot. Fallout three/New Vegas would push 80°C and Crysis would generally push this card to near 100°C. Did a lot investigation on a variety of forums and many men and women said this was normal for this card... Um... I don't assume so. So, I ended up removing heat sink/fan shroud assembly, cleaned thermal paste off of heat spreader and heat sink get in touch with face, reapplied some Tuniq TX-2 that I had sitting about and the distinction is incredible. Fallout 3/New Vegas tops out about 53°C and Crysis has yet to go above 65°C. I'm pondering of getting a different and carrying out a 2-way SLI setup. If I encounter the very same heat difficulty with the subsequent a single I know what to do.

appears to function well in the games i've played. windows desktop appears clearer and sharper. This card will run at the clock speeds/voltages as advertised, but *ONLY WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT Ought to*. Most users are utilised to their video card running at one particular speed all the time. These 400 series Nvidia cards use bios primarily based power management to raise/lower the clocks/voltages to what it feels like is correct at the time. The difficulty here is in the middle of a game it will drop down to a slower speed, causing lagging and stuttering. Also when making use of a web browser and scrolling, the video card will drop down to it's lowest speed, and not come out of it for 20-30 seconds, causing lags and stuttering. Just said, the issue is that the energy management is as well conservative, and lowers the speed of the card as well rapid. Even setting the profile to "prefer maximum functionality" doesn't help this (and that setting isn't obtainable thru the standard nvidia manage panel, but with nvidia inspector). These PM modes aren't alterable. My opinion: For a typical desktop machine, there's no need for this power management. Nvidia must, but won't transform this with a bios update. I wish i hadn't bought this card. If you want to control how your card runs, when you want it to, DON'T obtain this card.

First off, unbelievable performance. Running Crysis maxed out with no AA and its operating smooth as butter. Usually idles around 29c -30c and below a load normally only tops about 65c. Any game I throw at this card gets chewed up like a dog toy. Anything is smooth. Well, no such factor as ideal. This card is quite quiet idling, but beneath a heavy load can get a bit loud. Not loud enough to interrupt me though. Upgrading from an ATI Radeon HD 4670 and I'm so impressed I won't except anything lower than this cards functionality now. Hoping to put two in SLI and continue to tear up games for at least a different two - three years. All in all, ideal card I've ever owned.

Got the Stock 1GB version of this card, first thing I did was overclock it to "Superclocked" settings. one hundred% stable on 763MHz Core, 1526MHz Shader, and 3800MHz Memory. No want to boost voltage. Utilized the EVGA precision application incorporated with the card. Running @ 1680x1050, excellent card for this resolution. This card replaced my GTX260 216. Noise level at idle is decrease than my GTX260 was , at load the fan noise is the very same as my GTX260 was. External Exhaust is good for a overclocked rig as you want to pump as much heat out of your case as doable and away from your CPU.EVGA lifetime warranty (card ended in AR)! This is my 5th EVGA brand card I've bought in over the last handful of years. Never ever an concern. Step up alternative for 90 days, need to a GTX475 come out :DCard is eight.5 inches, add one more .five for the pci-e connectors on the rear. Nvidia drivers are nonetheless new for this series, a different couple of months really should show main FPS improvements. Card hold up alright at 1920x1200 efficiency , but its not produced for that resolution , going by the testimonials I've study. Card was shipped to me in two days from CA to PA , genuinely quick shipping from the EGG/UPS! New Fermi 104 revision runs considerably a lot cooler and uses less energy, so won't be in a position to toast a marshmallow from the exhaust heat :(S'mores are great.

Great Card! Quite Potent and runs cool. Moves rather a bit of air out the external exhaust, and the fan isn't any louder than that of a 8800gt.PB - functionality boost - fan can peak 賓%, instead of 70%EE - external exhaust - blows air out the back taller cards can make it tricky to press the release latch to take out the card. I ended up breaking the latch off to get the card out. no large deal, it was annoying to start with. EVGA is the way to go. get an "AR" model card, register in 30 days and get a lifetime warranty.

I have but to see it hiccup. Granted, I'm nonetheless only playing COD4, but at 1600x1200 I get 90fps and I believe that's just the max fps unless I set the ceiling larger ingame. It also handles playing a film (VTC) over one particular DVI out to my tv when I get unchanged overall performance ingame. I had to edit the driver myself to get it to show properly on my westinghouse l2410nm. The DVI-HDMI connection tends to make the card assume it's a tv. A search for "EDID repair" will lead you to the remedy. EVGA support has no notion about this, which is odd, given that it's been a difficulty for a couple of years. EVGA was quite excellent about communicating by means of emails and more than the phone. They cross shipped me a new card when they believed the artifacting was due to a poor card. I found the EDID fix ahead of the card arrived and just sent it back with no opening it.

Massive improvement in efficiency more than my N260GTX 1.7GB, which is to be anticipated coming from an older class of GPU. This card does additional with much less memory, has greater framerates, runs cooler, and quieter. The mini-HDMI port did not function of out the box. Technical support was prompt, but stated I neeeded to enable the port in the driver which is bogus. There are no aditional settings in the driver to enable a mini-HDMI port. Due to the fact I port straight to an HDTV, with native HDMI, this essential me to invest further money for a DVI to HDMI adapter. The money I spent on both the card and adapter could have allowed me to upgrade my acquire to the "For The Win" version. But then there would have been no guarantee the Mini-HDMI port would have run on the "For The Win" either...The N260GTX card was far more unstable, which is why I replaced it, but came with a complete-size HDMI port that under no circumstances gave me any isses. I would advise obtaining a DVI to HDMI cable if you're seriously contemplating this card. Newegg has a great choice of these cables and the value is proper. You can count on to pay ฤ a lot more at any other box shop retailer. With the adapter the card runs flawlessly and does a attractive job on Crysis with maxed settings. I would advocate this card to everyone who has completed the analysis.

Worked quite well in sli as I bought two of them, single card operates for most games as nicely.Smaller sized and lighter than earlier gtx275s that they replaced. Price is a plus, two of them generally less pricey than a gtx480. Fifty percent reliability on my portion, bought two for sli, each worked for about a week then a single failed, attempted reinstalling drivers, card itself, inspected for loose or broken parts, none located, returned for rma which cost me funds to ship back, producing the expense about 35.00 greater. Single card is really powerful in itself for the size and weight, about an inch shorter than a gtx275.Heat is much less than above mentioned card also.It is an evga item which is all I have purchased for nvidia cards so 1 bad out of 40 says alot about evga.

Very best efficiency for the price point. Registration with EVGA for 1 year warranty was fairly straightforward, straightforward, and rapidly. Card is operating wonderful with Just Trigger two with all of the settings on high. Going to test it with Metro 2033 later. Did not come with a mute button for my girlfriend to tune out the addiction I have with Computer games. The lifetime warranty is nice; nonetheless if you do not register it within 30 days of obtain it becomes a 1 year warranty so keep that in thoughts.

The GTX 460 is a wonderful card. I have two in sli and they deal with Crysis, BC2, Metro 2033, Mafia two, and Just Result in two at 1920x1080 with most settings maxed out at 40-60 fps. This EVGA card runs hot. This card runs 15c hotter than my MSI at the very same clock speeds. even with the EVGA in the cooler part of my case. The fan is also really noisy. I would look for one more version of this card. I would not acquire an external exhaust card once again.

This card replaces an EVGA GTX 285 in a Cooler Master CM Stacker case loaded with SilenX fans. Temperatures tend to run from 28c idle to 65c at full load. From what I've read it preforms rather a bit better than the GTX 285 in most situations. (i have not tested this myself) It's also shorter than the card it replaces. All things viewed as, a wonderful tiny DirectX 11 capable card! When I very first picked up the box I head something tiny rattling around and when I opened the box I identified two of the 4 screws that hold the heat-sink & fan onto the card rolling around in the packaging. The remaining two screws exactly where rather loose as well. I reinstalled the two missing screws and tightened up the others. I was worried that this would compromise the thermal material but it seems ok. Temperatures are where they ought to be. I posted on EVGAs forums to find I am not the only 1 that had this problem. Check your card to make confident all the screws are in place and appropriately tight before making use of it! I hope EVGA looks into this QA concern and resolves it. This card went into an alternate Pc I use for day-to-day things like e-mail, image editing, casual gaming and other miscellaneous stuff. My devoted gaming rig sports 2x EVGA GTX 480 Superclocked+'s in SLi and they suck power like mad and create tons of heat, but I knew that going in. This GTX 460 is fantastic for this Computer as it doesn't want anywhere near that level of efficiency and avoids the additional heat and noise. I also plan to use this GPU for some added Folding@Home points in addition to my other folding machine!
