Cons: Smaller memory bus than the GTX670 in which this card is based from . However, that should not be a problem for most.

All in all, the price point on the EVGA GTX 660 Ti is very competitive. I ran two GTS 250 1GB's in SLi previously and have long awaited the Kep architecture. Before I could barely crank out Battlefield 3 in Windowed at around 1900x** nor full screen at 2560x1600.However; with the right system specs and driver optimizations things can change and I really felt that when I put the 660 Ti in.Full screen r 2560x1600, Ultra/Max settings no problem.Paired with my Core i7 and most of my games run pretty smoothly.If it chugs; it is most likely a game engine issue or an optimization issue due to the large resolution. |
I got this card to replace an old GTX 550 Ti that did not have enough compute power to run Guild Wars 2 at 1080p. With this card, I can close to max out the game with no AA and 8xAF (although still subject to the usual MMO stutter and lag when things get busy).Due to the blower fan, my CPU temperatures are lower with this card than with my older card despite this one generating more heat. The fan however is a double-edged sword in that makes a light whirring sound due to its bearings, similar to old hard drives. It is not loud, but the sound is not a constant hum, so at least I perceive it as more annoying. Don't forget to take the little piece of packing tape off the fan hub, or this sound is a lot louder!
