I bought these because I often need short extension cords for computer related things, especially using multiple power bricks on one UPS or surge protector. So you just combine this with the standard power cord everyone has laying around, and you've got an instant relatively small extension cord.I've used these mostly when AC Adapters that come with devices are too short. For example, a USB hub or harddrive docking station. Their cords were too short to reach from my desk to the surge protector, so I used these adapters to turn power cables into 4 foot extension cables...works well.
