Cons: Expensive, but worth every penny! The fans get very high-pitched and loud over 50% but the default settings do not need fan speeds higher than 50%.

Pros: Pros: This video card is so fast that installing it is like getting a new computer. With no overclocking and no changes to any default settings, the card runs at 1379mhz, faster than its advertised speed of 1342mhz. Video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro is extremely smooth. Programs and windows open much faster on 2560x1440 displays. Gaming is not my expertise, but testing Skyrim revealed a jaw-dropping cinematic level of detail in 2560x1440. The card operates quietly and cool with no coil whine. The default bios option (quiet Dbi) turns off all fans under 60 degrees Celsius and keeps the card below 76 degrees under load using low fan speeds. Switching to the secondary bios option (SSC) adds a little more graphics speed. EVGA’s software also makes adjusting settings easy. With a custom fan profile, this quiet card idles at 29 to 30 degrees and peaks at 58 degrees Celsius under heavy load. I expect that this card will very capably handle video editing as well as qhd and 4k business computing for some years.Notes: My load testing was done with the FurMark software. It's unclear whether the higher than advertised video card speeds I saw without any overclocking are typical. A well-ventilated computer case brought out the fastest speeds with the least noise.
Comment:
Fantastic value for the performance. As a second generation refresh of EVGA’s GTX 970 design, the SSC ACX 2.0+ competes with the best current GTX970 options, offering excellent performance and full-size quiet cooling that fits into my micro-atx case.

Cons: -None so far

Pros: -Very Fast-Runs Cool-No Coil Whine-Some room still left for overclocking-Silent under 50% Fan Speed
Comment:
This is the upgraded 2nd generation of the GTX 970 SCC from EVGA that came out in January 2015. Unlike the reviews of the first gen in Sept 2014 (that the card had heat-sink issues, coil whine and an older fan/heat-pipe setup), this card is FANTASTIC and although I have only had it for two days, unless I develop a future issue with it, I would highly recommend this card over all the GTX 970's of the first generation.I upgraded my i7-950i4.3 GHZ and 12 GB Ram because my original video cards HD 6850's in CF although they 4 years later ripped up most games still, I found in the Star Citizen Pre-Alpha I was only getting 15 FPS even on the lowest settings.Well let me tell you that right out of the box without tweaking, the single EVGA 970 GTX SCC was averaging 65 FPS at Ultra high settings, some four times faster than my HD 6850's in crossfire and again also on Ultra High Settings instead of Low. So thrilled as Star Citizen has not been even optimized yet. Anyways, although likely the msi or Gigabyte G1 first gen lead the field, it is my opinion the EVGA solved all first gen issues on this second gen lineup. (Yes they still come in the SC, SCC or FTW and now FTW+ from EVGA.)I can also SLI this card in the future if need be.........I strongly suggest you buy this card.
