used to buy coolermaster case/psu combos, but with these being so affordable I can buy inexpensive silverstone cases with these PSU's for the same $, but get a smaller case and much higher quality PSU. I used to always buy sparkle 400w PSU's that were extremely solid as my cheap PSU (made by FSP). These are my new go-to solid cheap PSU. |

Used this to replace a seven years old PSU which started making noticeable noise. More than adequate adapters in my case and cables were very easy to manage. Runs very quiet and my system has been stable so far. |

Cons: - BEWARE... It is NOT a 80Plus BRONZE!!!- 10$ more gets you the same version "500W" in Bronze rating though which is 4-5% more efficient at 50% use!

I'm very mad that I received this product while it was very unclear that it wasn't 80Plus Bronze as there has always been ONLY a 80Plus Bronze 500W model from EVGA since forever and I know it since I even worked 6 months at CC and they still don't even list this crappy model on their website. Hell.. the power supply section was even MY own departement! It appears from the google search I've made that EVGA came out of nowhere in early 2014 with this worse 500W model that looks exactly the same but written in white letters instead of bronze. It's been announced in mid-december 2013 and is clearly not a real new product. Now I have to see if I can get a full refund if I send it back to NCIX, I so hate wasting time for dumb things like this. |
The PSU on an older system (Athlon X2) of mine died and I needed a cheap replacement. This fit the bill. It seems to run well enough, and it's pretty quiet. The cables are a bit stiff though and required some effort to get into the right places.
