Shopped about for a while, looked at every little thing from 5770s to gtx560s. Ended up with this card due to the fact it seemed to be the most energy efficient, and ideal value for the income. I just constructed a new tower with a fresh copy of windows 7, installed the drivers on the cd that came with it and am operating 1680x1050 on a single dvi monitor. Runs all the games I have tried on maxed out graphics with no problems. Far more importantly, it is quieter than the fan on the Phenom X4 processor I have. No difficulties with the drivers or anything. I have not played with the OC utility it comes with. I mostly use the tower for engineering applications, and it seems to play just fine with Solidworks and ProE. Vey very good value in my opinion. Also, appears to scale extremely effectively if you feel like acquiring two. None Appears like a excellent, quiet, energy friendly card that is of a present generation. I have had no driver difficulties, but I have only installed the drivers off the cd. If it performs, why screw with it...

Just kills my 4850 X2 I just replaced. Runs genuine quiet, with fan on 50%. Low temps, and low energy draw. DX 11...wow BF:BC2 just appears and plays crazy! LOW Price + Totally free SHIPPING! I couldn't afford to purchase a pair of them. The cash I spent on this card was worth every single penny! If you want to assure that every game you own, or thinking about acquiring, will run almost everything maxed out ࿜ FPS+ and 1920x1080); acquire a pair of these. Otherwise it's a killer card all on it's personal for the spending budget enthusiast.

Plays all existing games on almost the highest settings with frame rates in the 60s and above. Most games can be turned up all the way. Games like empire:total war with 16x AA drop under 40 fps. Games like crysis, crysis two, GTA IV etc play on totally the highest settings. Puts my old 8800 GT to shame. Revitalized my 2-3 year old machine be sure to note exactly where your SATA connectors are, this card covered up four of mine. wasnt a big deal since I wanted to get rid of my smaller sized HDDs and drop in a couple of terabyte HDDs anyways My program:AMD Phenom II 940 @ three. ghzsix GBs DDR2 800 RAM650 W PSRadeon 6870

Fantastic value, Higher performance, fast delivery. Tight fit in case. This card has chewed up and spit out each game I've feed it. Crysis, Dead Space and Call of Duty MW two Max settings. I have the card paired with an amd 965 Black Edition processor and 4 gigs of RAM. Don't waste income crossfiriing this card. You don't get substantially of a overall performance boost anyway. Ultimately I can play my games the way they were meant to be play. Ordered the card from NewEgg on Tuesday and received it the subsequent day on Wednesday. Good practical experience all round!

Cost/performance. 2x in crossfire is truly nice. Comes with a great quantity of added cables, and so on. Catalyst... What a nightmare. Took me two days to get the drivers updated to current. CCC would be operating in Task manager but not essentially on my screen anyplace. The hardware is only as good as the drivers AMD supplies. These are the 1st ATI chipset cards i have purchased in about 20 years. Have often wanted to attempt a crossfire setup, glad i got the likelihood.Would i do it once more? Debatable basically due to the fact of the problems with Catalyst, and the 1000's of other individuals possessing difficulties i identified through google..

For a 200 dollar videocard none can compare without spending atleast 50 or a lot more bucks ! Runs ANY GAME at max AA and AF at 1280x1024 on my non widescreen ACER 19" 5ms LCD with no lag or ghosting quiet fan when set to 60% or reduce in CCC and never ever goes over 75C on load and stays at 38-40C at idle or just surfing net with fan at 50% .Accelerates Adobe Flash Player for great hunting online videos and webpage flash objects . Physics processing built in so significantly less pull on your CPU for physics demanding games ! takes two, six pin PCI-e power connectors , but I knew that just before getting so not dilemma , but something other folks may well will need to think about before buying ! Wonderful card for the $$$ ! I never ever acquire a Videocard for over 200 dollars , so I broke my personal guidelines when I spent 209 for this 1 ,but I'm not dissappointed with the functionality . This absolutely slaughters the 4870 1Gb that it replaced .This is also DX11 compared to the 4870's DX10.1 Obtain this if it's in your cost range and you'll be very impressed and not disappointed . Again there is no 200 dollar or much less card that can even compare to this !

Upgraded from a 8800 GTS 640MB. I'm operating on a 1080p monitor, and that card has always been just barely capable of generating Crysis appear half as lovely as it need to be. With this new HD6870 I can lastly run Crysis on enthusiast settings with anti-aliasing and seriously take pleasure in it. The fan noise is also noticeably quieter. As of however there's no require to overclock. Finally I got this on such a great deal--this was on sale for the identical value as a 6850! I had already decided that the 6850 was a greater deal compared to Nvidia 460 1GB, so acquiring the 6870 was a no brainer. Catalyst handle center sucks. I imply this in a extremely serious way. If I ever have the selection once again of choosing involving competitively priced AMD vs Nvidia cards I'm going with the Nvidia card strictly on the selection to prevent AMD's godawful drivers. The initial installation left me with black borders on my screen, brought on by the drivers automatically underscanning. You have to set underscan to % in CCC--which is tricky to uncover, given that you 1st have to realize CCC wants to be run as administrator, and then you need to have to locate the setting (which is buried levels deep in menus). Soon after fixing this in the desktop Crysis Still has difficulties with underscan. I haven't been in a position to repair it, but there is a workaround--when you're in the game, hit Alt+Enter a couple of instances. Very first it will take you out of full screen, which will make the underscan go away, and then hitting it again will bring the game back up in complete screen mode, no underscanning. But I have to do this each and every time the game begins! I bought my 8800 GTS three.five years ago for 踘. Final week I spent 赇 for a new card that will in all probability final me for one more three years. But even if I decide to get 1 in two years, that's okay--I assume it makes significantly far more sense to get the middle of the road card rather than high end. Finding the ~赊 card lets you upgrade much more usually, and so you never ever keep too far behind the curve.

Low priced. Aftermarket cooler...not sure if thats fantastic or terrible; see comments. Rapid shipping. Lock-ups/artifacts following prolonged use - Antec 900 with all fans on medium. No cost-free game? Is it the hardware or Catalyst? Can't use a single without having the other. Hoping new driver may possibly solve the game crashes. Can crank fan settings up right after 4 hours in TF2..but that suggests leaving game. :(

-Aestetically beautiful-Very effective-HDCP and 3D-prepared The card is a lot bigger and thicker than it appears in the pictures. I have doubts that it would fit in quite a few mid-size towers. The cards are litterally one hundred% the width of my Crosshair IV.Not a con for me because I went with a complete-size tower but I want others to be aware. I have 2 in Crossfire. Playing Crysis or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-CoP for hours, the fans in no way go any greater than 35% or temps over 80*C. A small hotter than I prefer but I've been making use of liquid cooling for years so it's been a even though given that I've observed temps like that. They handle HD3D effectively as well. Crysis at max settings in 3D drops only to about 20-25fps.

Operates incredibly cool. The new fan housing keeps temps between 30-40 and is around 50 OC. Also runs quiter than the older model. Pulled in a 7.8 on the WEI It is not fully enclosed so it does drop more heat in to the case than the older model. Compared to the original Sapphire 6870, this card does run with slightly significantly less energy, a small cooler, and a little quiter, but you drop a tiny external exhaust. If you're deciding involving the two I would go with this a single.

Upgraded from a nvidia 9800gt xlr8..total junk! This card runs WoW at ultra settings with no heat issues or studdering! Fan is loud at 100% but it is keeping the card at 38f, so I am not truly complaining. Wish I had a mobo that I could x-fire these cards in..very best bang for the buck I have observed in a extended time.

This card so far has been capable to play anything and every thing I throw at it on ultra higher settings and be completely playable with no overheating. The cooler is wonderful as it in no way went more than 70 degrees even playing crysis with a slight overclock. TRIXX overclocking utlity is great In order to install TRIXX overclocking utility you need to have the quantity on the card and I currently had it set up so I had to open up my case and locate the quantity to get the software program. I am building my computer peice by peice (has been operating for eight months even though but i just retain adding parts) and I had a 3850 in temporarily. that card could not truly overclock and got 90degrees just playing half life two and it could not even play half life 2 on ultra higher. after upgrading to this card I adore it and I can not wait to get the second one. it can play whatever I want on unbeliveble settings and temperatures. I would extremely reccomend this and already create a pals comptuer with this card. the sapphire cooler seems to be better than the reference design.

The card had fantastic prospective. Construct quality was great and the fan was really extremely quiet. The card benched great and ran games such as BF2BC and Just Trigger 2 fine Ended up returning the card simply because the drivers have been trash. Some games ran flawless, other games had poor frame rates.(RIFT and MAFIA2) Wether it was the game that didnt like ATI or the drivers that have been horrid...I ended up trading this in for the Gigabyte GTX 560TI SOC (amazing card). Like I mentioned...i beleive it was just the drivers but I would from time to time get lines across the screen in RIFT and Mafia two...the card passed all benchmarks and artifact scanners completely. ATI/AMD make fantasic goods but occasionally I feel the drivers hold back their overall performance. I switch involving cards and brands all the time, I just really feel at the current time, nvidias drivers have the edge on producing their cards carry out much better. (personal opinion)

Properly I often buy ATI/AMD powered mother boards and video card this is the initial and only ATI/AMD gave me difficultyNewegg RMA'ing it. I hade so quite a few problems with NVIDIA merchandise from mobo video and even with laptop chips. Well not so much cons except you wait and can't use RMA and all that. Effectively I got Sapphire HD6970 for somewhere around 贄 more AMD's fastest card and 1GB more on board ram.for some reason this card consumes less power at idle about the similar temps about 47C @ space 25C beneath load 505 watts below load temps about 87-91C exact same room temps.this all total process watts. this new card lowered idle and average power consumption about 70 watts load watts about 50 watts and CPU temperature 43C to 36C due to blower variety GPU cooler ( CPU ) is water cooled.

Incredibly gentle default fan curve. Throughout l4d2 the temperature is 85C and the fan is nonetheless at 35%, which I can't seriously inform if it's louder than idle fan speed ྸ%). When running OCCT the temp got up to 94C and the fan went up to 55%, which is loud. It's not whiny loud or annoying loud, but you can undoubtedly hear it. 45% is when the fan starts to get loud, and most games should fall under that with the default fan curve. I don't own a stock 6870 so I don't know how the noise/cooling compares under load. The fan curve is customizable utilizing Sapphire's Trixx or MSI's Afterburner. On an open bench at 1 meter away, it's not inaudible at the minimum fan speed, but you have to know what you're listening for. The fan generates a faint buzzing sound. Based on SPCR's critique of the stock cooler the stock cooler is almost certainly quiter than this card's cooler. If the card is placed in a case and/or you have noise supply louder than an idle difficult drive, I doubt you can hear it.No ram sinks, though the fan does blow downwards, so this may possibly not be as significant. There are 3 heatpipes, 1 goes to the bracket-side and the other 2 goes to the power connector side. These heatpipes look a bit thicker than standard. Most of the air is blown back into the case. There is a heatsink on the VRM, not a quite big 1, but it's there. The main heatsink is pretty huge. It virtually reaches the crossfire connector one side, and on the other side it ends in between the letters 'd' and 'e' on "Radeon". The fins directly beneath the fan do touch the heatpipes.

1GB GDDR5, Tweak hardware to Overclock, fan/heatsink design Possibly the BETA drivers but it lower my graphical overall performance score in Windows 7 assessment center. It could also be that windows is NOT exploiting the cards possible. I went from HD 4870's in crossfire to ƒ) HD 6870's in crossfire. WOO HOO! Speak about incredible. The cards are SILENT! and OVERCLOCK very nicely. The Trixx computer software from Sapphire is prett slick, and the fans are super silent. What a Great made card. My prior HD 4870s sounded like a jet turbine when the fan was AT or ABOVE 50%. Good cards, I extremely advise crossfire.

None so far. Dead on Arrival.Big thick and clunky even in my mansion size situation. When this graphics card came with all the other parts for my laptop or computer I was excited to place it together. two hours later right after reading manuals and obtaining every little thing with each other, My friend and I attempted to boot up. We talked to other eggers and they stated perhaps it's DOA. Pull out my friends graphics card and boom it functions. (Not the Sapphire card, the Computer)I can't return it since I'm green and recycle but other than that I will hopefully be in a position to return it to Sapphire and be capable to use my computer ahead of I move. Feels negative man.Other than DOA I expect this card to be excellent by the time it gets here. For initial time Builders. Just FYI.HDMI is OK to use on arrival. If it's not operating. It's dead.

Effective, slick-hunting. Works rather properly. Huge. Takes two additional connections straight from the power supply to run it, but I guess that's the standard nowadays. It's heavy, which in my setup is causing it to sag just a bit off the PCI port, and I worry about long-term complications from that.None of these are genuine cons, even though. To make the image fit my monitor on high resolution, I had to find an almost-hidden "Overscan" selection in the CCC software and set it to maximum.
