When i purchased this, i wasn't expecting much out of it. But i was very surprised to see how well it performed out of the box. It only had 1gb of ram though, so there wasn't much left free and programs took some time to open. I immediately put a 2gb stick in there and voila! What a difference! It performs so well that i can actually play games on it. For example, it can run EVE Online with all low settings at an average of 30FPS, which is very playable. The thing that is actually limiting the gameplay is the small screen resolution. But hey, i didn't buy this to play games lol, but it's nice to see that i can (which totally surprised me).The first thing i did when i got this was to remove windows 7 starter as it was too limited for me. Not being able to customize anything and the fact that NVidia Optimus technology was not supported was a huge turn off. You could actually manually switch to the discrete or integrated GPU manually, but it required a restart each time. Now that i've installed windows 7 pro, it actually does that dynamically while a program is running if the computer requires more GPU power. And it actually works pretty well, except on youtube where when you full screen a video the GPU turns off (so no 1080p full screen video on youtube). Though that is the only issue i have with Optimus, it doesn't do that on other sites of in windows media player.Overall, this is a very good buy and i would suggest it to anybody over earlier models eee pc without the ION2 graphics.
