The card is a fundamental card that does what it is intended for it to do and that is to watch or record live tv. I installed it, it was fairly a hassle to get to perform with Vista Ultimate's Media Center, but it eventually did perform right after realizing that Sony Vegas 7 was the culprit the complete time. It gets the job performed and that is the most crucial thing. Records at marginal excellent, it is HD but its not "Crystal Clear" HD there are a few fuzzy spots here and there, but the card is significantly less than eighty dollars. There aren't that many comb filters only 2 as opposed to the greater finish model that has three. Don't even record on Analog excellent mainly because the image is horrible, no query about it. The software it comes with is horrible at best, Media Center works far better, but regrettably doesn't supply the attributes that the actual WinTV presents like recording from the composite and audio inputs. The screen in WinTV when watching 1080i image appears distorted, and a lot of skipping occurs. Save your self the hassle and stick with Media Center or BeyondTV those two applications perform amazingly effectively. Install the drivers from the website, don't bother going through the difficulty with the CD as the drivers are out of date and you will almost certainly run through some challenges. I will likely exchange the card to get one that gives out a far better excellent image since this a single is not too fantastic...

it's HD, I'm using an over the air TERK antenna and the image is incredibly excellent. (although I can not get any of the in amongst HD channels) No computer software comes with it, you are forced to use windows media center, and that's not a poor thing, if all you want to do is watch Tv and record your shows, but if you want connect other issues like your video camera, vcr, game method, you're out of luck, you have to buy some other application. the software program you can download from Hauppauge for absolutely free is not fantastic, but I was able to hook up my game method just to uncover out there is a 1 second delay (for some purpose) when you press a button on the controller, so that makes it impossible to really play the game. want it had the great computer software that used to come with Tv cards.

Took it out of the box and plugged it in and it worked great. I have had several tuners that had been a nightmare to get to perform. This is a digital tuner and I truly can't see considerably diference between it and analog tuners. I only use this for keeping up with news and sports and it worked effortlessly proper out of the box.

Inexpensive. Operates with Vista and Windows Media Center Image good quality just ok, not a lot of input possibilities, burps (temp freeze) when resizing windows in media center. For the price tag, this is a very good deal. It is just what it seems to be, a low-end video capture card that will operate with Vista. The overall performance is not really buttery smooth, but it works fine when its going. Records when watching recorded video devoid of a hitch. I didnt use the software program other than to load the drivers and Vista took it from there with no difficulty.

Effectively it plays my Direct Television on my laptop. And it does so without having stutters, freezing, a relatively clear image, and reliably. Straightforward hardware set up and easy application installation. I can record Television and shop the program on my Pc to watch in a media player of my decision. I can also take jpg screenshots of reside or recorded Television, and view previously recorded material from my satellite box on my Pc. I can re-record previously stored programs from my satellite box and store them on my Computer. This is specifically handy, as I have some programs I want just a segment of taking up hours of space on my Direct Television box. Now I can record just the segments I want, store them on my computer system, and delete the program from my satellite box. That's fairly good. Doesn't pick up any HD stations so far. I haven't tried "over the air" HD but, but may at some point. The remote manage doesn't perform, but that is not such a huge problem as I am making use of my Direct Television remote. The larger challenge is this was working with WMC at initial, but is no longer. It says the "IR" (infrared remote) isn't found and won't set up. Now, when it worked the WMC menu worked and the record function and all the attributes. But given that the Direct Tv box is set to channel four for its output, even if WMC shows the suitable station I am watching, if I want to record anything it only records channel four! So I have to use the WINTV software program the card came with to record Tv. Which isn't a massive deal, but the menu functions and record options (record season, schedule record, and so forth) are good to have in WMC. So I will continue seeking for a answer. Nicely its not ideal but it tends to make me content. I can't appear to get the IR functioning (i've been busy and haven't even checked the batteries yet) so all its options and functions aren't offered to me. And according to what I have read elsewhere to function with WMC and all its features I could want an "IR Blaster." Which is an additional way of saying a WMC distinct remote handle. However I purchased this to just watch Tv and record reside Television in a very basic way to my personal computer. And this it does quite, really effectively. Don't count on a Great image when watching typical Tv from your cable or satellite box, but it is a great picture. And it plays smooth. Just like a normal Television. This permitted me to dump an old CRT I was using in my bedroom and the ugly stand I had it on. My computer system specs are AMD 5600+, nvidia 8800GT graphics card, and three gigs RAM. 22in monitor. Oh, and if you get those "black borders" at the side of your widescreen just modify the screen resolution to a thing reduce. Takes care of it for Television viewin

It's PCI-E 1x!!! That is awesome, simply because I had a additional PCI-E off the side of my graphics card, and all my PCI slots were taken up. Horrible horrible top quality! I was working with a USB device before utilizing this, and believed "This must perform much better then crummy ol' USB!". Nope. Nadda. Zippo. Better to go with some USB sort of video capture if you want to get decent analog.

Easy installation, PCI X1 slot, Cool operating, great picture, fantastic recorder, HD!. At times requires a even though to lock onto a signal. Possibly a handful of seconds longer than usual. Also the pc that runs this requirements to have significant horsepower. I have the bare minimum 2.two Ghz AMD processor, and it can barely run this issue. The card eats 60% of the CPU cycles, but the outcome is quite very good recordings and a very very good picture. I would recommend at least a 2.8 GHz processor, and a multiicore would be the ideal predicament. With my 2.two GHz single core CPU and when I kill indexing, and other background tasks the card runs great. Don't attempt to surf the net whilst recording that fantastic Pink Floyd concert on PBS or you'll get the rap version.

The card does function, picks up digital and analog channels properly. The remote ONLY operates with media center and the integrated application if you set up ALL of the application (so don't even dream of it working in Linux). The integrated application is HORRIBLE. Requires way too lengthy to flip channels. Remote is laggy. You can download the computer software and drivers from the internet site, but it Makes YOU INSERT THE CD to continue the installation. It even says on the internet site, you have to have a Hauppauge CD, not even the original one, to get it to full installation. Oh, and they'll send you 1 for บ. How considerate of them. Highly recommend you not get this card unless you don't plan on operating Linux or use the remote or hold the CD forever. I program on returning it. I have an ancient Hauppauge tuner card that I nonetheless use after several OS reinstalls. Lost the integrated software program extended ago. If they expected the CD for that a single I would almost certainly have to toss it.

Amazing sensititivty. This tuner locks on to stations your TVset can obtain. I have been via a long list of Pc primarily based ATSC digital tuners including Avermedia, ATI, Hauppage, HD Homerun. The tuner on this card is in a class by itself. I have attempted all the above tuners and not 1 could match any of my HDTVs (Sharp, Panasonic, HP, Samsung, or and external CE tuner like a Tivo HD. The 1250 can, it is truly a even more effective tuner than the greatest I have which is constructed in HP DLP. The software cd that comes bundled is pure excrement. Download the most recent driver package from the Hauppage web-site and only install the standard driver. Even that is an iffy install. But one you get it set up as a tuner in Media Center be ready to be pleasantly surpised. I have been throwing capital at I have been throwing capital at Computer tuners for 2 years attempting to get one particular that work on par with my HDTVs, absolutely nothing came close until an individual on the AVS Forum suggested the 1250. There story was the identical, it blew away there HDTVs constructed in tuner. The software program is ugly but if you are runnig Vista Media Center you only will need the standard driver.

Wonderful quality imageNicely supported cardLow profile form element Windows computer software that ships with card (use MCE or MediaPortal!).Lack of and Mpeg Encoder/Decoder.Lack of Analog Assistance in Linux. I purchased this card to go in a low profile media center case for a custom built PVR I have. I enjoy it! It is effectively supported in each linux and windows. Linux help doesn't include things like analog as of but, but thinking about the upcoming DTV switch, that's not much of an issue. I had zero complications installing this card and setting it up with MythTV. I have bought many Hauppauge cards and I have loved them all. Fortunately Comcast, the cable provider in my area, doesn't encrypt the simple 80+ channel digital package so I was capable to access almost everything I am paying for via MythTV with this card. This card can be really challenging on older systems as it doesn't have any onboard encoders/decoders. At 1080i that can seriously tax a technique bus, make positive you have at least a 400Mhz+ FSB. It will operate in conjunction with older (PVR-150룶) cards that have onboard encoders nonetheless, but that FSB speed is nonetheless critical.Overall it's a great card for the value, via MythTV/Linux or MCE/Windows.

Place in a Intel E6550 Pc with Vista and X3000 on-board video. Its HDTV good quality is remarkable from my Acer Ph530 projector. With its low-cost audio wire antenna, I get all nearby HD channels in my basement. Image projected to a 72" x 120" screen nonetheless looks sharp and color rich. DTS audio output is outstanding also. The signal is additional stable than my Olevia HDTV on the 2nd floor with a much better antenna. Analog Tv high quality is terrible, but I employed it only for HDTV. Just employed included driver. May well try to download a upgrade driver to see the distinction.

Fantastic specs on paper. Hauppauge tech assistance is really courteous and knowledgeable. Controller chip on card was DOA. Connected, reconnected, set up, uninstalled. Windows 7 discovered the device in handle panel, but controller would not pick up the channels off of the cable connection. Hauppauge tech assistance supplied to RMA the card for me, but I just decided to bite the bullet and let the Egg refund my cash. I will go with a unique card.Possibly

Nicely, it didn't work for me - but I don't know if it's the board or my MB, As soon as the driver began loading, my computer locked up. This has in no way happened otherwise and does not occur with my PVR-150. A posting in right here mentions a compatibility situation with the AMD 770 chip on the ASUS M3A78 - my encounter supports that. Possibly won't perform with an AMD 770 chipset ;( New Egg delivered quick, but you knew that...

Really like this tuner, I had formally been making use of k-world tuners nonetheless the signal was not what I had hoped for. This is a really sensitive tuner; so substantially so that I am receiving channels from over 50 miles away in some cases! took a although for me to uncover the driver download to make sure the tuner was entirely up to date but then that's just their web site. If you are not receiving a clear signal I would advise you to purchase A signal booster with an FM trap and make certain you only use coax cable so as to keep away from the cable from turning into an antenna which causes interference.

Affordable. PCI-Express x1. Works fantastic with Vista Residence Premium Windows Media Center. At the recommendation of numerous, I did not install WinTV computer software. Gets all the obtainable HD OTA channels. Quite delighted with the image excellent. I can't say anything about QAM, analog cable recording, etc. simply because I don't use it for that. Only four stars simply because it doesn't fit in my machine with no some modification. My Intel MB has a capacitor that keeps the card from seating all the way into the slot. I read another overview that recommended you relocate the card's audio jack, which is the guilty part that pushes against the capacitor. I may possibly ultimately do that, but for now I went with a temporary remedy: I removed the card's metal mounting plate, which gave me a small additional wiggle space to push the card most of the way into the slot. I did this initially to just make sure the card worked. It did operate, so I'm leaving it as is till now. Playback of recorded HD content material can be a tad pixelated when the picture moves quickly. This might be due to my video card; even so, live play isn't as undesirable. I have Windows Media Center configured to record on "best," so I guess I will just try to preserve tweaking it. My specs:Pentium D 925, 3. GhzVista Household Premium2 MB RAM256 MB GeForce 7300 GTI don't have cable, and I don't but personal an HDTV, so all I wanted was a standard card that could view and record OTA HD channels--and this card does that effectively. Card only does software program mpeg-two compression, but I don't have to worry about this given that all I record is HD, which is native mpeg-2 so no compression needed. In other words, this was the excellent card for what I wanted to do.If you want a card with hardware mpeg-2 compression, appear elsewhere.

The card looks nicely when it desires to function. This card interferes with every single single other device in my process. When its in it kills all my other tuner cards and network cards. And it fails to load any video or tune any channels in mythtv. Total pile. It may well look like the card isn't screwing with the method but you'll locate anything that is absolutely unrelated and discover out that its induced by the card.

Not a bad cost, has assistance for both analog and digital "free-over-the-air" signals. Can't get the dang thing to operate correctly with Vista Residence Premium Media Center. The trouble is very first it wont let me install the WinTV for MC Computer software, that and the signal I get more than it in Media Center, which is straight from a VCR, has such a "low data-rate" that the connection is viewed as lost... but at the very same time I get the proper Audio. It happens with the Coax, element, and the S-Video as effectively. And as if this doesn't irritate me... I go to examine for updated drivers or software, and the card is practically not possible to locate beneath the help area of Hauppauge's web page, but there are no downloads for it that I can locate. Aside from Newegg's wonderful delivery instances? None.

Uncomplicated installation and fantastic documentation I have a Vista Media Center running on an Abit IL-90MV (GMA 950) with a Core2 Duo T5500 and 1GB of RAM. I have it connected to a 1080p Tv and have by no means located any HD content that I can not watch. The OTA HD channels from this card have been the initial that have failed outright for me. When watching either live Tv or a recorded show, my memory jumps from close to 600mb allocated up to around 2GB, causing the machine to consistently swap and grind to a hault. I know that 1GB with Vista is asking for difficulty, but till now, I have been in a position to watch any other kind of HD content material without any challenges and this card's specifications do not specifically list that more than 1GB of RAM is needed.
