Went to the store to get the cheapest solution to a wireless desktop, got this usb and everything works great. Only problem was that it was pretty tough to shove it into the usb the first time. |

This is the worst wireless adapter I've ever bought. My router is no more that 30feet far from this adapter, but the signal is always low. My laptop gets a better signal from 10 feet farther!Also, I bought a wireless amplifier, but since this adapter only support N network, I wasn't able to catch the amplified signal.Finally my new router is set with a WPA2 access key and this adapter doesn't support it...If you need a wireless adapter... look at some other product. This is definitely not worth it. |

The one I bought seems to be using Ralink Chipsets RT3070 for 802.11b/g/n with 1x1 technology.An extension cable has to be used to outperform an existing built-in 802.11g adapter in a wireless-G environment.Has anyone tried the latest drivers at http://www.ralinktech.com/?Will an installation of the latest drivers somehow upgrade the firmware to V22? |

The drivers disc contains a large PDF manual, and drivers for linux, mac and windows. The mac folder has a DMG which mounts to reveal separate installer/uninstaller scripts for each of 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6I installed the 10.5 drivers as appropriate (twice) and was puzzled to see no results. The magic started when I unplugged and plugged the device back in. Then the Ralink utility program starts. The operating system reports a new NIC and offers to open config pages for you.select your wifi network and enter any passwords/keys using the utility program. Configure your IP settings through System Preferences->Network panel just like any other network interface. The utility program has many options, including profiles which allows saving networks and passwords. It appears to be a full-blown cocoa application with standard macos UI elements.So far it's working really great, once I got the kinks ironed out. For reference, don't put the device next to your bank of AC/DC adapters. I plan to reposition the USB hub and the WiFi Router to get a bit better signal, but despite this everything is working great! |

Mac installation is not explained and far from intuitive. Does not wake up after sleep from Snow Leopard. Signal strength very sensitive to where you locate it. You will lose the cap; I guarantee it!
Pros: Small profile; plugged it to the back of your desktop you don't even know it's there. Windows 7 plug-and-play. CD contains driver for Mac and OSX86. Price! Comment:
Range is above average for this type of stick. Works for both Windows and Mac. Highly recommended for medium range applications. Will buy another for my next build. |

This works a lot better than I was anticipating considering the price. Plugged it in and Win7 installed automatically, no drivers needed.Connection speed fluctuates but I seem to hold steady between 121 - 135 Mbps with computer upstairs and opposite side of the house of the router. |

Although I could only connect to about 60mbps, it was much better than my D-link wireless B/G adapter, which could only connect to about 18mbps at most. Not a bad upgrade at only $10. |

I bought this for a friend's build and really didn't expect much from it for the price. Actually it works surprisingly well: it maintained a good signal the furtherest point in my house from the router.A warning though: unlike many other wireless adapters, Windows 7 does not recognize this device at all until the drivers from the disc have been installed. I installed Windows with this plugged in thinking that Windows would recognize it, but it didn't. In fact, the Windows installation hung up on the final stage until I removed the adapter, and I found that other drivers took abnormally long to install until I'd installed the drivers from the disc.Overall, I found this to be a surprisingly good wireless adapter for a great price, and I'd definitely recommend it. |

The quick setup instructions were simple and easy to follow, so initial setup was fine.The included program to monitor available wireless connections wasn't well-documented, though letting Windows monitor the connections is available as a less complicated option.The wireless N adapter itself feels flimsy. The casing is made entirely of slightly bendable plastic. I wouldn't want to plug in and unplug this adapter too many times.For $10, it's a decent value. |
*** It is not 3 stars I wanted to leave, it deserves less, but NCIX does not allow less than 3 stars unless you have your order details which I don't care to keep since it has been months already and wasn't planning to even bother to RMA if it broke ***.Bought a few of these, sometimes they work great, sometimes they dont' (using it in the smae building)Ok for $10 if you're using Win7, just don't expect any supportnot even drivers download.MSI website is got to be the worse (Not just because I cannot find the driver for this but over the years, their website are often down, missing stuff, script errors.... etc etc. They are improving -- but still sub-par by today's standard)
