After looking at some of the more pricey high end microphones, we settled on this one to do some basic speech recording. For $50, this rivals the build quality of some of the more expensive ones. The microphone is very sturdy and feels well built. It has three audio gain levels that you can set based on how much ambient noise you want to record. We did a few test recordings where the mic was sitting about 3 feet away and the quality was pretty good. The mic also allows you to plug a headset into so you can hear how the recording is going to sound as it's being recorded.The app on the other hand lacks many features. Considering you spend $50 on the mic, you have to spend more to get features such as WiFi transfer of the audio files from your device to a computer. The only thing you can do is email the audio files. If you want any of the other features, you have to pay for it.Overall, this is a good mic and rivals the more expensive ones in terms of build quality. If you're looking to do some basic speech recording or basic audio work with your IOS device, this is definitely worth getting.
