Cons: - Touchpad click bar is extremely stiff and requires a lot of pressure to register a click- AC adapter pin is very, very small and has a high risk of breakage with any misuse- Chiclet keys have an open space underneath them and cleaning could possibly be a nightmare- Most games haven't been designed with the dual GPU display in mind, meaning that a lot of tweaking and finding workarounds is required to get some of them in working order

Pros: - Excellent performance for value when on sale for $300- Nice big bright display for a netbook- Audio is actually reasonably loud- Comfortable weight, size, heat generation, and keyboard
Comment:
This is a solid netbook that not only handles HD video like a boss (it can even watch a 720p 60fps video stream with no lag), but can be used for light gaming. I was able to get TF2 running at 30 fps on low details with a no phong model pack installed, Poker Night at the Inventory worked well at medium detail, and I was able to get Diablo 2 working well (after some excessive troubleshooting). The mouse bar is very uncomfortable, but at least functional, and you may want to have a proper mouse anyhow for gaming. Some issues aside, you can't argue with the amount of power you're getting for $300 here, and this netbook is an amazing buy at that price point.

Cons: Tiny ac plug in, really small looks like it can break easy. Huge fingerprint magnet, dust too. On black color at least. Some like glossy screens, I don't so it's a con. Speaker location at front bottom make it bad for lap use. Would be better under the screen and on the top side. Requires tweaking*

Pros: netbook on steroids, desktop grade processor, discrete graphics on the fly when you need it, long enough battery life (5 - 6 hours for me depending on gaming or not). I happen to like the tacky keyboard as it keeps it clean. Touch pad is great and big enough.
Comment:
Overall, it's a nifty ultra-netbook that cost me $300 when it was on sale. *Has issues which required some tweaking to get games working... mainly warcraft 3 frozen throne - dota. Have to click disable desktop composition under compatibility under properties. Then to the file path [...]" -openglThis will allow you to play it with max settings 50 fps with dips to 40. 35 fps in intense battles. I recommend it when it's on sale. Cheers! Also cannot play netflix hd since netflix is coded for cpu not gpu, you have to click the screen and press ctr+shift+alt+s and set the buffer to 750. Also in flash videos you have to disable hardware acceleration. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-08-11 01:21 AM

Cons: Keyboard doesn't feel very durable. It has a lot of flex when you type fast/hard.

Pros: Very light and pretty powerful for it's size.

I bought it for school and it's the perfect size with the perfect amount of power for everything I need to do.

Cons: Dual core uses up battery faster than single core.Textured touchpad is annoying.Atom is slow, even with 2 of them.

Pros: Crisp high-resolution screen.Windows 7 premium instead of windows 7 starter.High-quality HD video output.3 USB ports + SD card slot
Comment:
I decided on this netbook because I wanted as much flexibility in its use as possible. Windows 7, 2gb ram, and the high resolution 1366x768 screen were all things that only this model had. At the time I mainly wanted a very light computer for carrying around at university, and after class I would connect it to a 24" monitor and do my work.I really like the video output options on this netbook. It has VGA for connecting to old monitors and digital projectors. It also has HDMI out, which you can connect to an HDTV or external monitor directly through HDMI or with an HDMI->DVI cable. It easily does extended desktop mode at 1920x1080. I haven't tried playing 1080p video with it because even desktops can struggle with that, but it does scale 720p videos to full screen on the external display with no playback problems. As far as running various software packages on the atom, Microsoft Office runs fine, MATLAB is sluggish but usable, compiling in Visual Studio C++ is painfully slow. It can play any game that can be played with integrated video, the ION graphics are top notch. I don't really use it for games but it can kind of play world of warcraft with lowest video settings. I decided to stick with the hard drive after I bought it rather than swapping in an SSD so I could use ASUS's basic installation partition to start over if I wanted to. After using it for a while, I've found the atom to be such a frustrating bottleneck that I don't see the point in upgrading the other parts. The only thing I don't like about this netbook is the touchpad. It has these small raised dots that are kind of annoying when using the trackpad a lot. I would guess their purpose is to mark the location of the trackpad, since aside from the location of the click button there's no way to determine where its edges are. I would have preferred some sort of raised border with a regular flat surface. On the upside, the software included for configuring how the trackpad works is very comprehensive. It supports various scrolling methods and partitioning the trackpad area. For example, if I tap the right side of the trackpad it is a right click. If I were shopping for a netbook I would definitely buy again. Lately I've been considering selling it and getting a tablet but it's hard to give up the full windows functionality.

Cons: Areo video performance is weak, imbeded trendnet antivirus is a pain

Pros: Price,quality,versatility
Comment:
Hello I purchased this netbook for its size and versatility. I have done several tests whith this laptop and I am impressed with overclocking the cpu and gpu.I upgraded this as soon as it hit my grubby hands I replaced the hard drve whith the Mushkin Chronos 120 SSD and upgraded the memory from 2 gigs to 4. I now have an resonably priced netbook that is off the charts for a netbook performance. My windows performance is reasonable but whith my upgrades made it quite respectable at 3.6 on areo the weakest. cpu score 4.9 overclocked to 2.2, Memory score 5.1, hard drive score 7.6, gaming graphice 5.1. The read and write score was very good on a sata 2 platform of 280 read and 260 write whith Atto benchmark. I was not happy whith trend security imbeded and a pain to remove. The one thing I like most that you wont see in a dell,hp,etc A genuine Quality Asus motherboard. This netbook is not meant for gaming that being said this is a solid performer for work and student applications and I would recommend this purchase

Cons: not really a con, but a touch screen would knock this out of the park!

Pros: small, light, plays great HD on big screen tv via HDMI, long battery life
Comment:
I bought this early December while traveling, I can't say enough good things about it. As long as you don't think this is a desktop replacement, and have a home computer you can map a dvd drive to... then you are set. When I'm at home I use this to play all my shows on the big screen and can use the built in monitor at the same time to surf the web and download the next thing I want to watch.

Pros: -lightweight-mat black-good battery life
Comment:
I replaced the 2x1gb ram stick for 2x2gb, had to flash the bios so they could get recognized. It was long and complicated to disassemble the netbook in order to change the hdd for a ssd. No noticable performance increase. Cpu is kind of weak and it would be hard to multi task. Couldn't get the Fn keys working since I can,t find the ACPI software anywhere. This laptop has a good price/performance ratio. Not sure I would buy it again due to the lack of cpu power

Cons: Collects finger prints, mouse buttons not my taste, power cord is flimsy

Pros: Light Weight, long battery life, Great chipset for basic needs, Good colour rendition, good price for performance
Comment:
I purchased this computer to do some basic photo editing while on a trip. Due to its light weight and small size, it was great to take around from hotel to hotel. It is fully capable of doing RAW photo editing, but it's a bit slower than my desktop - however, that was to be expected. Video playback is decent. On the con side, the laptop collects finger prints like crazy. I'm not a fan of the mouse pad and prefer to use a regular mouse with it. The power cord is flimsy, but if you are careful it shouldn't be a problem.Overall, it's a great laptop for all the basic needs and then some.

Comment:
This is one of the best netbook that I own, fast, and the battery last around 5-6 hours depending on how you use it(internet, HD movie, etc). I decided to change the HDD to a SSD and now it's even more faster than before. All I can say is good investment.

Cons: - little bit of keyboard flex

Pros: - compact- light weight- large keyboard- nice screen
Comment:
Started my PhD in Sept, bought one of these to use at school. I wanted something portable for use in classes, giving presentations, etc.I use it mostly for web surfing, document writing (MS Word), and MatLab programming (it runs MatLab fine, but you'll want to transfer your code to a faster machine if you plan on doing any heavy processing...)The keyboard flex that people describe  is there, but it doesn't bother me at all.I have not used it to play any HD movies yet, but it's nice to know I have the option. The only games I've played on it to date are 'Plants vs Zombies' and 'World of Goo', both of which play fine.Overall, it's an excellent little machine with lots of power for it's price range.

Pros: -nice form-12" is great size-quick-1080p output is a breeze
Comment:
Very solid little computer. For internet and video you can't go wrong. streaming in 1080p is no problem at all. the keyboard flex some have mentioned is there but it is minuscule, really a non-issue. Also; the button on the track pad breaks in as you get used to it, if you have a weeks worth of patience it is no problem either. I would recommend this netbook to anyone looking for something more than what those little 10"ers provide.

Purchased this laptop for my mother as Chrismas present. It's her first computer and she's been loving it. For the price and performance that it provides, it's one of the best deals out there for a portable computer. Great for someone who needs to carry it around all day. Asus comes highly recommended in the world of netbooks/notebooks and I would definitely buy one for myself.

Pros: -Great processor compared to other netbook-Good battery life (approximatif 6 hours)-Good Graphic Card (ION2) compared to other netbook, excellent for HD movies-HDMI-DDR3-Good design-Lightweight

If you want a great netbook with high performance and great graphic, this netbook is for you! You can play many recent game with medium/high resolution, like Starcraft II. Cons: No usb 3.0, No bluetooth, Nvidia Optimus sometimes wont automatically switch to ION2 so you have to manually choose to run with ION2 for certian programs.

Pros: Fast for a Netbook, Ion 2 provides enough power for low setting games, Fairly good battery life, Cheap for what it can run, Nice matte shell and design, Very small compact charger, Improves on 1201N and 1201PN.
Comment:
This netbook is fast enough to be a laptop, but the ION2 allows it to do more then a low end laptop. This netbook is great for movies and hooks up to a HD TV easily with an HDMI cable, it does not lag but you gotta make sure ION2 is running as optimus doesnt not turn on ION2 automatically for certain programs. I have tested this netbook with several recent games.Final fantasy XIV runs fine on lowest setting with buffer set on half page (optimus doesnt work well with final fantasy so you will have to choose run with ION2 or else the program crashes right away). Starcraft 2 also runs on lowest settings, but big battles will lag alot. Older games such as starcraft, warcraft, diablo, cs will all run fine. The battery life while playing graphics intensive games will last you only 2 hours, so you must find a plug. If you arnt doing graphics intensive work the battery will last you 6 hours which should be plenty until you find a plug. Optimus does not autodetect some programs so you will have to manually turn on the ION2, so if your movies or games are lagging and crashing make sure ION2 was actually on. The design of this netbook looks very nice and keyboard flex doesnt seem to be as big a deal as other people make it sound, the matte shell still picks up smudges easily but not as bad as when it was gloss like the 1201n. The charger is light and small and very easy to carry around. Like many others I wished they included the usb 3.0 and bluetooth but it seems unlike many others i read the reviews for the NA version before i brought it so i knew ahead of time that we wernt gonna get bluetooth and usb 3.0s, this netbook is still a big improvement on the 1201n and i feel that if that netbook deserved 5 stars this one does too, because it built on what made the 1201n good, it has better battery life, better trackpad, matte lid, more processing power, and more graphics power. For 550 dollars this netbook offers enough power for gaming when you are not at your gaming rig, movie playback, portable webbrowser that doesnt kill your eyes like browsing on your phone does, a nice netbook for you to get a bit of work done on the go. If you loved the 1201N but need a replacement or wanted the 1201N and didnt get a chance to get it, this netbook is highly recommended.

Comment:
I own 2 1000HA and I am very happy with those so whenever someone asks which netbook to go for I always say an Eee.This is for a customer of mine who wanted something very light and portable but very fast, I suggested this and a 64GB Kingston SSD.I was very disappointed in the fact that to replace the HDD with a SSD is a task and a half, it will void the factory warranty and take a fair amount of time. That being said they do include a 5400RPM 250GB Momentus XT so most people would not need to replace this.My wife wants to upgrade her netbook so I do intend on buying another one of these and depending on the HDD swap difficulty perhaps doing that for hers too.

Pros: -Snappy speed-Great multitasking-Plays 1080p streams with no stutter-Great battery life-Matte finish
Comment:
I got this to replace my broken notebook because I needed something for school. This is probably one of the most powerful netbooks out right now; It has a dual core processor and the new ION2. For what it is (a netbook), it's great. I can easily take it with me wherever I go and do school work on it. The screen is 12" so it isn't as small as most netbooks, but that makes it all the more easy to read text on it. It does Skype video calls very well. If you want to play games, it plays some low-end ones decently. Such as Warcraft 3 (tested DotA), Puzzle Quest 2, Torchlight, World of Goo, etc. Since this netbook is new, they haven't updated the drivers in a while, but I think it would perform even better once they release some driver updates.
