Tons of good feature you get in higher finish board, USB 3. and Sata 6. Rock. Uncomplicated to use BIOs for Overclocking your cpu. Adore the board It's a tiny tight in some locations, like if you have a huge graphics vehicles (GTX 465 here) and a bit Heatsink (Ultra 120 extreme) the 8pin power is really hard to get to but not impossible. Just be away that if you go with a the Thermalright Ultra 120 Intense the fan will be facing Up and Down not Front and Back so 6 dimms of Corsair Dominator will not match. standard size ram will even though. Also make sure you have an exhaust or holes on the leading of the case for the Heatsink to dump out of.

SATA3, USB three., eight SATA ports, three way SLI, Digital Readout for CPU temp and codes on startup, Lots of fan connectors USB connectors SATA connectors Firewire connectors, Lots of almost everything! SATA ports face forward alternatively of up, produced it annoying to plug issues in. No front audio ports? I have to be missing one thing but I have checked the board 100000000 times and can't look to locate any front audio out pins anyplace! Only six expansion slots. Incredible board! The guy who wrote this board is junk TWICE to knock off eggs is just impatient. If he had tried a firmware update he would have been golden. High tech level? Give me a break. Got the board with outdated Firmware and kept finding BSOD. Underclocked my i7 950 and RAM and turned the QPI down to 120 to keep it stable adequate to download the most up-to-date BIOS and viola! Got 950 throttling up 4.6GHz Water cooled and perfectly stable and it barely reaches 45 degrees on the onboard digital readout. I've only ever used eVGA for graphics, but I have to say, with a small tweaking on the style, this board will make it to number on my favorites

Good PCI-e x16/x1 layout, makes it possible for for my PCI-e x1 sound card to not block the graphics card fan.Overclocking characteristics in bios (I don't use them anyway.) High-pricedPainful set upEvga.com's support site does not provide bios downloads for this mobo. All of their X58 series drivers are grouped collectively and not clearly separated by model # or OS. SATA three. had key difficulties with an XP install. I ended up being forced to use SATA 2. ports to set up windows as the Marvell SATA three. driver was not loading appropriately from usb floppy or nlited (drivers integrated) install disk.SATA ports orientation (sideways) is incredibly troublesome to use and needs me to take off the back panel of my case to plug stuff in. Works, anyway. ᝺s OS loading time is generally good to see.Operating i7-950, 600GB 10k Raptor on SATA 2, and 8800 320mb graphics card with this. Do not propose if you are only getting for SATA 3..

Runs like a champ as do all evga boards I have applied & I have utilised many. I personal my own custom puter creating organization & I create mostly gamer systems. Up n operating core i7 950's over 4ghz in minutes. Not a glitch one particular. I have utilised evga board for years & they are top notch. The only con here are buyers who give negative reviews & or knock off eggs when they have no clue. I study these testimonials & laugh. Do some research folks. Critique the board for what it is not what you thought it ought to be. Knockin off eggs cuz its a 1x16 pcie board that runs the 2nd videocard at 8x speed. If thats a situation for you then why did you obtain it? Didnt read the specs, wouldnt understand them anyway? How can you degrade the board for that. It clearly states what it is. If you need to have more than 1 16x pcie slot then obtain a distinct board, dont knock this one particular cuz thats what it is.In addition to if you had a clue you would do a lil investigation & see that the overall performance distinction involving 2x 16x pcie slots & 1x16x & 1x8x pcie slots is virtually absolutely nothing, Less than 1% & I have read & tested myself where the latter was essentially more rapidly at med resolutions like 1680x1050.Even at really hi resolutions the difference is only measurable with testing application & even then its only1-2%. If your going to take the time to make your personal method put some thought & analysis into your decisions.

I purchased this board by way of a nearby retailer. Went by way of two Gigabyte boards which both had problems booting from a cold start out. Would hold telling me immediately after beginning it that the hard drive was not discovered. Following a reset, it would boot up. I had owned the EVGA SLI LE board ahead of I upgraded. Ran it with a i7 920 with no concerns for a year. Lastly got rid of the Gigabyte boards and got this one particular for 159.99. It is now paired with a i7 950, and got it overclocked up to four.26 GHz operating pretty effectively. Any larger although and I'd need water cooling. Sitting at three.65 GHz for now. So far no concerns except for a undesirable GTX 470 which I'm returning. SLI didn't want to operate with it. With this board and the i7 950, the price of the upgrade soon after promoting my old parts was Ű.99, yes, eight dollars and 99 cents. Good bargain for USB 3. and SATA 6 G/b. I got a new hard drive on the way to test it out. None so far. Gonna attempt to swap out the Northbridge cooler for a different one particular with a fan and see if it keeps it cooler. Runs a bit hot for my taste. If you're seeking for a excellent board, EVGA has however to let me down with the 1366 socket boards. I recommend this to any individual looking for a fantastic overclocking board, and one that's got a good layout. Just make confident get the SATA connectors in initially, and a long video card will cover the SATA plugs.

Spend very close consideration... DDR3 1600 is not specifically "Standard" for this board. Any memory higher that DDR3 13333 demands overclocking to function properly. Tons of features. Has an unbelievable layout that makes wiring a snap, nothing at all gets in the way. Labeled incredibly effectively also. No will need for a manual. 1st MOBO i was able to eye up and configure with out the manual. The firmware it shipped with brought on tons of issues. I had to set up a broken version of windows to come across that the firmware on the board was faulty and causing mass blue screen troubles out the box. New firmware fixed everything Installing new firmware from EVGA is a tiny bit of a pain. Therefore why i dropped 1 egg from my overall evaluation. Outside of that this is great board for the income and ill recomend it to anyone. EVGA quality is always good.

Swift and straightforward to set up, quite effectively layed out, had an easy and clear OC layout, and was in a position to rapidly OC my i7 to 4.1ghz with hyperthreading. I've been keeping it in a area cooled to 35 degrees and its going wonderful. EVGA is seriously a great supplier which is decently priced and has great support. none I have not tried SLI on this board yet- finding a gtx 570 in the next week or so so we'll see how that goes.

It looks good. Some great overclocking features. Generally all the functions you would anticipate of a lately developed x58 motherboard except... pci-e x16/x8/x8. Unless you are organizing on acquiring a video card that is a few years old this method will bottleneck if you ever plan on upgrading to sli or crossfire. Its a shame, gigabyte and asus each offer you motherboards with x16/x16 pci-e for the exact same price tag. x16/x8 performs fine for ati 4000 series but I didn't upgrade my computer system to use a video card that is 2 years old. I bought 1 5870 and program on getting an additional one as soon as I have the cash...this motherboard does not have the capacity to upgrade like I was searching for. The details section lead me to believe this was x16/x16 with two-way sli and x16/x8/x8 in three-way sli. I termed evga to confirm that this motherboard is x16/x8 in 2-way sli.

Fanastic board. I've been utilizing EVGA for years and I haven't had any troubles. Rock solid hardware! The only downside is with the spdif passthrough on the motherboard. When I pass the audio from the motherboard by means of my gtx280, I get a very loud crackle noise when the monitor shuts off now, and if I mute the audio in windows, it will hiss like a tv on a 'snow' channel. It's very annoying. This by no means happened on my other evga board. I'll be contacting them about this challenge and hopefully it will get resolved. I actually hope evga can repair my audio concern, I don't want to acquire a soundcard to remedy this problem, I don't want any unnecessary elements in my setup. i7 950 three.8ghz (to preserve temps down)Corsair H50 water coolingevga x58 sli324gb mushkin ddr3180gb ocz revodrive2x 1tb wd green drivesevga gtx280dvdrw/bd-romwindows 7 ultimate x64

Received yesterday, USB 3. and SATA 6Gb/s although I have absolutely nothing to test it on. Glad to see eVGA nevertheless makes use of Phoenix bios as I've gotten applied to it from their nforce boards. Did not have to reinstall Windows 7, discovered most of the drivers on it's personal and everything else is covered by the driver disc. Have this coupled with an i7 930, 3x2GB Corsair XMS3 DDR 1600 Ram, GTX 470, four HDDs, X-Fi Titanium, and an LG Super multi blue optical drive all powered by an OCZ GameXstream 700w PSU and it runs like a dream. None so far. Did not have the multiplier set effectively for my i7 930, it was at 20 rather of 21 but the distinction was negligible. Originally thought I had a bad PSU once I place almost everything collectively but turned out I just had the RAM installed in the wrong slots when using only three DIMMs.

Very good priced MOBO that contains SATE three and USB three..ONLY use triple channel memory. Can monitor and attach case fans, which is great. Don't like the dummy OC function in the bios, really worthless in my opinion. Passive cooling of the chipset, not a large fan off. Don't like the PCI 16ǞǞ. Only comes with two SATA cables. This is a excellent expense effective stable motherboard. With most characteristics a power user or a gamer would want. The mother boards overall has a great lay out, and very good Raid assistance on both 6. and 3. SATA ports.Superior solid elements. If you do SLI, only the initial port will run at 16x, the rest will run at 8x. Practically all motherboards made in the final six months allow SLI to run at 16xቬx. EVGA seriously dropped the ball right here.Does not have Digital Audio outputs, if you are an audiophile get an aftermarket audio card. The audio on boards is typical at greatest. To be honest I would not acquire this motherboard again, my 1st 1 was DOA, my second went undesirable following one particular week. I will give it to EVGA for undertaking a cost-free crosship. I utilised to be an EVGA loyalist, but the final year the quality of their components has really dropped.I would go with an ASUS on my subsequent build.

Correcting Fuzz's comment none Fuzz stated this board has no DVD/CD connector. He is definitely talking about the old IDE connector, it has plenty of SATA connectors which is what a modern DVD/CD drive uses. If you purchase any mainboard and program to use an old drive or two, this is one thing you have to look out for, otherwise spend a little additional income and replace the old drive (we're talking ฤ-25 for a fantastic DVD burner unless you get picky). No IDE, no floppy, you'll have to use an external USB floppy there, that's correct, if you are a die-tricky, or a flash drive.
