Sata six, USB 3., its EVGA, LOTS of characteristics, this point is great! Some folks are having a concern with ram on this board (check the EVGA forums), but it is working Good right here with my RAM. (G.Skill F3-12800CL7T-12GBTDD) Double Boot... When you do major CMOS alterations, or 1st boot it, it will run for about two seconds, shutdown for about five seconds, then reboot. I personally don't like this because it is not only annoying, but im prdy positive its not fantastic for my HDD's to spool up, have a five second break, then re spool. More than time, this in all probability is poor for the motor.Doesnt function in AHCI mode with the Kingston SDDNOW V series... only IDE mode functions, unless you use AHCI on he sata six ports and controller, then it works, but boot time is then slower. Contacted kingston about this, and they mentioned it is mobo related. The cons are not actually the finish of the planet to me, but if I pay this significantly for a board, id like to see it perform appropriately. Double boot is the biggest issue to me. I still am a big EVGA fan, and will purchase from em once again, but this is just a little unacceptable to me.

This is a genuinely good board. SATA three, SLI, and some good cooling. The heatsink near the CPU meant that I couldn't set up my 3rd party CPU cooler in the way that I wanted - I managed to get it in, but I had to rotate it.

USB three., three-Way SLI, SATA II, Dual LAN, etc.. First board was DOA.Do not be fooled by their claim of obtaining SATA III ports, they use the Marvell controller and are as slow as the SATA II ports. As of this day, there is no way to fix this. I hope I can return this one particular and appear for a new board. How is it feasible that EVGA didn't know about this issue? It was the exact same in earlier boards as I found out in their forums. My guess is they do know, but they can claim it is SATA III "compatible", as you can hook up a SATA III device and at some point get it to perform soon after some problems.

EVGA 24ǝ telephone tech assistance and friendly neighborhood. The black and gray appears nice. maybe one day USB 3 will be useful. VREG heatsink sticks up high and looks incredibly Inexpensive.Would not run stable at RAM factory timing/voltage, had to bump it up the voltage a bit far more to keep system from freezing. EVGA could of completed a far better job on the VREG heatsink, that is a single corner they shouldn't cut to save cash. They could find out a factor or two from other manufactures. If you acquire evga solutions be positive to register it within 30days to get the full warranty instead of just one year.Ordered 2weeks also soon, only received ฤ mail-in rebate as an alternative of ฽.

None really, I guess the only pros are that it supports a lot of RAM and it has lots of USB connections Got the board, it randomly shuts down, My NB runs crazy hot, and the lcd is spewing out errors left and proper. Practically nothing but nightmares at the moment and no enable from EVGA forums or Tech Assistance. I loved EVGA up till this point usually bought their motherboards and video cards for builts. Now I feel I will give an additional brand a attempt. I have been pulling my hair out more than this one particular. Going to attempt a different brand Manufacturer Response:Hi,Can you please speak to me directly at jacobf@evga.com with some a lot more information so I can assist you. Thanks,Jacob

I was possessing troubles with a ASUS p6t functioning with the GTX 400 and 500 series cards. I got the Welcome screen freeze on boot each time. Immediately after considerably troublshooting, I replaced the MB with this one particular and BAM! Almost everything performs excellent. Bios is uncomplicated to overclock with and the strong black is a individual favourite. Northbridge heatsink can get extremely hot. Make positive you have air flow moving in its path or it will get extremely hot. Do not use devoid of side cover on!

If you're just going to be running Windows, this board is excellent. It's very good for overclocking and has some good functions. I've attempted each and every recent Linux and BSD kernel I can locate and none of them will run stably. They all hang for about 30 seconds at boot and even after they've booted, I run into all sorts of stability concerns. It appears that most of them can be traced back to the APIC. It appears to be an unfixed BIOS bug. This is what happens when you boot a two.6.38 kernel:[ .114139] CPU0: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ two.80GHz stepping 05[ 21.652037] APIC calibration not constant with PM-Timer: 2822ms as an alternative of 100ms...[ 21.653801] Booting Node , Processors ş Š š Ţ ţ Ť ť[ 29.679055] Brought up eight CPUsNotice the important delays.EVGA support wasn't quite helpful. They basically replied "EVGA does not official support Linux". Not cool. I've owned the board for nearly a year now, and initially thought it was pretty nice. But since I can't run any Linux or UNIX kernel reliably, it's not quite helpful to me. -four stars for undesirable Linux support.

right after manually setting my mem/cpu volt/timings it runs smooth as silk. The board layout is set up pretty good, no concerns mounting my cpu cooler and so forth. SOUND CARD IS HORRIBLE! ! ! ! ! moving from my SB audigy to this was the worst decision i ever produced. HALF THE VOLUME comming out my speakers and it crackles when maxed (still sounds like a field mouse anyway). Dont assume simply because its surround sound that its excellent sufficient yes i know what im performing with drivers and audio settings, trust me this sound card is bogus. The only PCIe 1x slot is blocked by my video cooler so there isnt considerably of an alternative to upgrade aside from the one particular typical PCI slot

Supports 3-way SLI (one of the handful of when I bought it about 6 months ago)Has USB three. and SATA 6Gbps in addition to 3 PCI-Express x16, PCI-Express x1 and PCI slots. The LCD is a cool feature (that I'll by no means use). The included cables are prime notch; wonderful latching feature. Also comes with every single cable you'll possibly ever need to have (and 2-way and three-way SLI bridges). The huge chipset heatsink might get in the way of some cooler brackets (in my case, the Titan Fenrir bracket; I had to cut off a modest element of the bracket). I'd like to know where the LCD is measuring the temps from. Supposedly it is the CPU temp, but it gives my low 30s C when RealTemp offers me 40s C. Also, just be careful with the SATA ports on the side of the board; the top of a single broke off and is now unusable.A fantastic solution all round and well worth the further I paid for it.

Nice board. It has several nice capabilities. I like they put a reset button on the back of the board to have straightforward access from outside the case. Went to boot up and I got a black screen. No signal. Checked error lcd and I was getting a 7f. 7f can be related to bad bios, poor graphics cards, or poor pci slot.Attempted to reset bios. Removed the battery like recommended from EVGA. Tried to reset by the lil red button.Tried a good card from a different technique. Nevertheless get the error.Attempted in all the slots for PCIE. No luck.Tested EVGA 460's I had in a different machine and they worked fin. Was a little sad. GPU is easier then MB.Appears like there is lots of room for a huge Heatsink. I have had such excellent luck with EVGA, in the previous, I just put mine on. Really should of tested it first. Save me from having to get rid of paste and try not to bend CPU.I saw an individual complaining about video cards covering up HD audio plug. Yes this is true; nonetheless, if you plug it in very first you will be ok. Had a lot of room in between the card and plug.Bottom line I am disappointed. I have utilized EVGA for years. I have always suggested them. I hope it is a fluke; even though, I am wondering if I need to attempt this one particular once more or get a diverse MB.I know there are constantly going to be RMA or DOA. I just hate to get them. It would have been a good system. Dang it.

After reviewing a lot of the motherboards readily available I ended up deciding upon this one for my develop. I've read that a couple of men and women have had troubles with recognizing Sata 3. and not becoming able to post but I honestly had no issues. I really like the layout, I'm operating:- i7 950 Bloomfield quad core- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB ƒ x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W - LIAN LI Lancool Computer-K62 Case- I haven't purchased my new video card yet but am operating an old Geforce 8600 GT.Windows 7 Premium ࿠ bit) recognized all my ram and is running like a dream. Also it came with a ton of cables! Box was ripped a tiny ripped when I got it but that's not seriously a con on the motherboard. Anything inside was all packaged nicely. This is type of minor but the black colour of the board looks pretty sweet if your case has a side viewport.

- Addendum to following assessment - I also forgot to mention that when I pulled off the plastic CPU socket cover, I was greeted to the sight of hundreds of perfectly aligned pins - except for one particular. Could see it simply because it was tilted to the side and reflected light differently.Of course, to get to this pin, I had to peel off the sticker over the CPU socket that stated 'Any harm to CPU pins will void your warranty'.That stated, it seems to be working fine, but seriously, why ought to I even get 1 that is, at a glance, certainly faulty? What's much more, that my warranty almost certainly is now void due to the fact if I send it in, EVGA will see the pin and say 'Oh HO!'.Yeah. These would've been two-egg critiques, except the board's pros make up for 1 of them. In all probability the worst EVGA product I've owned.

Excellent motherboard Had to MANUALLY, with a steady hand, UNBEND one of the 1366 PINS with an exacto knife, I was going to RMA, due to the fact I could tell it was bent. But I went for it. It worked!!! I have heard of persons getting bent pins on A LOT of these reviews...my final motherboard, EVGA 790i, which I ran 3x SLI, worked WONDERFULLY. And I use it for a second box now. I don't know, but I guess it might be hit or miss for EVGA (receiving a unit with BENT CPU PINS on arrival). It is a True bummer when you are excited to build your new box and the pins are bent. I do NOT recommend attempting to UNBEND the pins at all...unless you are very confident of oneself :)

Aestheics are very pleasing, various method/case fan connections, simple installation, thorough BIOS with a lot of selections. BIOS updates are flaky and usually will only set up from SATA devices. SATA III is useless for my Corsair C300 鵀GB drive). Attempted for 24 hours to get my drive to function properly utilizing many diverse methods. Finally got it to set up Windows 7 but then it supplies me a good BSOD right after about 10 minutes of use with AHCI SATA III (only drive connected). I've contacted EVGA assistance and the technician essentially tried telling me just to switch to SATA II rather of correcting the issue and supporting their item. I nonetheless trusted EVGA even soon after reading several testimonials detailing how the Marvell SATA III controller was terrible in several instances, but their boards were replaced. Not delighted with EVGA assistance or this solution, I will NOT buy an additional board from them if they will not assistance their item and try to make it proper. While SATA III may well be in "draft" I suggest you search for compatability troubles for any drives ahead of buying this MB. The Corsair C300 seems to be hit-or-miss on operating with the SATA III connector, but mine was undoubtedly a miss and EVGA support did not provide a replacement, only recommended I need to use the SATA II if the III didn't work. Quite unimpressed.

EVGA Stepup to a better board If you're acquiring this board for SATAIII, don't. And don't even believe about RAID with 2 6GB drives.Get a Classified and wait a even though for SATA III or get add-in cards.

Nice board all round. EXCEPT there's no point obtaining it since SATA3 and IDE ports do not work. The Marvell controller is completely bogus. It wouldn't boot up if i plug in an IDE cdrom. EVGA wants to ditch this controller, situation a recall like Intel did and sue Marvell for the losses.

Really stable and dependable and wonderful for overclocking. The PCB is laid out extremely nicely and the manual is incredibly valuable (no broken English). Sexy BoardEnjoy the foam I/O Shield Sata III is seemingly useless I bought this board for two causes. Future compatibility and looks. I had originally planned to order a Gigabyte x58a-ud5 but decided that this board was related enough and wasn't that ugly color Gigabyte uses. After two weeks of attempting to get SATAIII to function I have decided this board is the devil. I even RMA'd the drive and got a new one particular, because signs lead me to think the drive was at fault. Additional testing seems to point to the motherboard now. Following all the difficulty, I consider i will get the ugly gigabyte mainly because it seems to have a higher good results rate with sata III.If you are purchasing this board for SATA III, get a gigabyte.
