I'm not in IT, but I use this in my home to check cables I build for myself and other people. As far as I'm concerned it works great, low cost, easy to use,comes with battery. It's nothing fancy, but it's perfect for DIYer. |

Great tool for the price, comes with everything you need out of the box, even a 9v battery. Has proved to be a great time saving tool, the indicator for each wire has worked phenomally. |

Can't beat the price! This RJ-45 Cable Check is NOT just a simple one light tester that one would expect for this price. It is actually a full 8 led tester In and Out so that it will show you shorts, crossovers, discontinuities and improper order of wires. For short cables you can use the In and out jacks both on the local device to test (loopback sort of) therefore not requiring the remote device. The remote device is also included in cases where the existing cabling is running through walls or the ends are far apart. A 9V Battery is included so it is ready to use from the box. 2 very short (~1 foot) patch cables are included to test the device. |
Purchased lan cable tester to replace unit I inherited. The old one had been dropped unknown number of times. Finally, someone lost it between walls. Saw this, got it and having all wires tested is incredible time-saver. Has prevented ripping suspected cable out of wall. Great Tester- will probably purchase one for personal toolbox.
