I bought two of these for a couple of 5 & 10 year old computers. Easy install, no crashes, I'm a happy camper. I like the versatility of the two included cables so you have the option of using the internal 9-pin connectors or usb connectors.

This is a great product for an older-style case, without front USB connections. This was the perfect solution to easy-to-reach USB interfaces.

Easy install, just beware that if you are connecting this to a USB 2.0 PCI card to upgrade an older motherboard you will need a card that has 2 internal connections or only one front port will work. Each port is on a separate cable.

Very thoughtful and simple design. I too had to uncover the blocked 10th pin hole on the female connector to mate it with the male 9-pin connector on my Iwill motherboard. (Be sure to check the pin assignments on the female connector and your motherboard if in doubt.)

This is one of the nicest kit's I've used - The hardware looks and feels first class. I think they have tried to anticipate many possible installation options and provided hardware for them. I bought two more after I installed the first because I thought it was a nice kit. I have installed others of much inferior quality and am happy with this one

Cool little gadget that adds a lot of convenience to the PC. Very handy because it comes with two different style cables in the box making hookup a snap.

This product is excellent. My Intel motherboard (D865GBF) comes with 8 USB ports but they are in the back. In addition, the botherboard has 2 9-pin connectors so that you can add a total of 4 (2 pair) of USB ports on the front panel. So I do not lose any USB ports on the back when I add USB ports on the front. The construction is very good and like it says, you can easily add a floppy disc, hard disc, or a ZIP drive to this unit. It also comes with two types of cables. One to connect it to the 9-pin connection on the motherboard and one to connect it to the external USB ports on the back of the tower. I just wished they made this exact unit for firewire.

I have mixed feelings. It is an excellent design, allowing for the use of a hard drive or other media device in addition to the 2 USB ports. The problem is the way it hooks up. There is a plug to connect it directly to the motherboard. By using this method, I would have to disconnect the 4 USB ports in the back of the computer. The other way to connect this device is to hook it directly to the USB port. However, there is no Y connection. So, each of the 2 USB ports on the front would be connected to 2 USB ports in the back of the computer. Using this method, you have not gained any additional ports-you have only moved access to them from the back of the computer to the front. A single USB connection would have made me happy, and increased my rating to a full 5 Stars.

Add Two USB 2.0 Ports to the Front of Your PC
For easy, up-front connectivity of USB peripherals, we recommend the Cables To Go Port Authority 2? USB 2.0 Front Panel. Add two USB ports to the front of your computer case for hassle-free access. This USB front panel easily connects to the USB connectors on your motherboard. If you prefer to connect to the USB ports on the back of your computer, easily swap the cables. The panel supports both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 peripheral devices.

This panel can be mounted into any 5.25 inch drive bay. In addition to USB ports, the USB 2.0 Front Panel provides a 3.5 inch bay for a hard drive to efficiently use that space, or you can change the front bezel to connect a floppy, ZIP drive, or other 3.5 inch removable media drive.
