I bought this because I thought my DVR had componet jacks but it didn't. So I hooked up to new blue ray and I do like the quality of HMDI better but it is better than yellow red white cables if you don't have componet jacks. The only other thing is it ships form a drop shipper not right from warehouse so shows up a day or to later.
