Cons: Dont reconize file on my 3To WD Hard Drive if i plug it in USB.Remote is hard to control.

Cons: came with 2.02 firmware, MUST update to 2.07!! remote buttons are hard to press as mention above review. buttons should be rearranged, "OK" button too far away from cursor buttons and too small.
Pros: plays every video file i threw it so far in my collection, MKV MP4 AVI MP3, had WDTV Live before this, almost identical interface. Comment:
Bought 2 of these to replace my outdated WDTV Live, interface is alot faster and more appealing to the eye. At the price of 49.99, its like getting 2 WDTV for the price of one. |

Cons: Media server software didnt seem to work well at all (Tonky) instead I reused PS3 Media player and the results were much better.Was not preloaded with most current updateNo HDMI cable

In the past I used my PS3 as a media player using PS3 media Server on my PC. The only thing I do is watch movies from my computer (hard wired), but occassionally have issues with Cinavera errors. I puchased this media streamer as a low cost alternative. The front end software is not great, however the device plays my movies well and so far is meetign my needs. For fun I tried streaming music but the options were very limitied and it did lock up when I skipped songs fast. Also the Flicker app was not very useful. For simply watching movies it was fine....it does not seem great at other functions, but for $49 it does what I wanted at a great price! |

The packaging is very compact in a cube shape. It comes with av cable, Ethernet cable, batteries for the remote, remote, ac adapter, and the media player. I got this on sale for $49.99 basically work like the Western digital media players but at a lower cost. Subtitles are displayed correctly and in a neat font. Multiple audio can be detected and selected with MKV. Only real con is the remote has some hard to press buttons, but you can use your apple device as a remote over wifi. Shockingly, there is no support for RMVB. Overall this meets all my needs to play my video files on the big screen. |
Don't forget to update the firmware!You can close you eyes and buy it!
