Cons: Software big and complex.

Pros: Simple to plug in. Very impressive sound quality.
Comment:
Excellent choice for low budget. Far superior than any internal sound card. I upgraded my sandbox to W8 but my audiophile 2496 has no driver for it yet. Hence, I use this one. To my surprise, the sonic signature is crisp, sharp and the response curve is flat across the spectrum. Not sure why others do not like it, to me it's fantastic product for the price.

Cons: Not an actual X-FI audio processor, horrible driver support for Vista/Win7.

Pros: It's PCI-Express, rather than just PCI.
Comment:
In short? Don't buy this card. Returned it because I could barely get the microphone to work under Windows 7 x64 (the Line-In and Mic share a jack, the "FlexiJack", and you must use Creative's software to configure it - however the software included with the card doesn't work for it and the updates from the website have to be installed in a very particular way for them to work right).Even once that was sorted out, the microphone input was horribly quiet and using Teamspeak or Skype was out of the question. Due to Creative's drivers, there wasn't even an option for Mic Boost. Before buying this card, ask yourself if you're ever going to run an OS other than XP. If the answer is 'yes', buy something else.

Cons: This card is not an X-Fi card. It is a rebranded Audigy.

Pros: Nothing at all is good about this card.
Comment:
This card is a rebranded Audigy. It is not a good card at all. Do not purchase this card if you want an X-Fi card because it's not on the same level as real X-Fi cards. The price is barely acceptable for this card though you can probably get a better Audigy for a few bucks less.
