Works well. Kinda big and loud...but otherwise a solid printer. Gotta download win 7 or vista 64 bit drivers from website. Would be better if it had separate color cartridges, I goes through ink about as fast as canon printers of the past...quite thirsty. But for under $100...it's not bad.

Cons: Only worked for 8 days under moderate use.

Pros: Has all the features I wanted, the fact that the driver had an option to use Black Cartridge Only was a plus for me.
Comment:
WOULD GIVE 1 STAR but NCIX website won't let me (store pickup item, don't have an order ID).I was really excited about this printer given the cost and all the features it proposed so I bought it as a replacement for my parents old HP multifunction machine. A plus for us was that you can select  in the driver for the printer to only use the Black cartridge (my dad prints about 20 pages of just text per day for work and was always running out of colour ink...) but unfortunately when you turn this option on, you will get an annoying prompt everytime you print warning you that you're only printing with one cartridge. This is using the latest drivers from the Canon website. The biggest complaint is that this printer gave up feeding paper properly after about 8 days of use. It would pull in the paper from one side only as if something was stuck, even though I checked the rollers which were all working fine and there was nothing in the way of the paper path from what I could see (printer troubleshooting is part of my daily job as an I.T. technician in a large corporation). This might be a good unit for printing every once in a while, but under some moderate use I don't think it's up to the task. Had to switch back to the old HP unit.

Cons: Extra large - bigger than most lasers. Unpacking is tedious as lots of securing tape and padding. Follow instructions as some tape requires opening machine. In-built menu system is a bit complex. No option to send faxes directly to PDF or PC with supplied software. No USB cable.

Pros: Very nice quality all-rounder. Looks more like a professional / high end machine than consumer. Very easy to set up. The auto document feeder is a great bonus. Highly configurable. Fax to memory (instead of paper) option. Nice button layout on control panel.
Comment:
I bought this fax machine after feeling ripped off paying $2.50 per page to send several pages to a toll-free fax number. I love Canon stuff in general, and this all-in-one is especially appealing when on sale. I have another Canon printer I'm happy with already, so just needed this for fax capability. However I was also keen to use the flatbed scanner.I like to be able to set equipment up exactly as I want it. This unit has a ton of configuration options. However although the set up instructions attempt to be helpful, you have to look in the on-screen help to understand all the options. Many who buy this will probably be using it on the same line as a phone. I initially set it up incorrectly. There is a socket on the back for a phone. But as I already have other phones on the same circuit I left the blanking piece in. Then configured this to be fax only, thinking that it's only the fax machine on this particular outlet. However when I had a friend send me a test fax, the phone rang and rang and then went to answering machine. I subsequently changed to Telephone Priority and have connected an old phone to it. I believe it is required even if you never use the plugged in phone, unless this is on a dedicated fax-only line. One concern I had was receiving spam fax transmissions, wasting my paper and ink. Although there's obvious way of previewing incoming faxes digitally, there is an option to send incoming faxes to memory. Users can then scroll through and print selected faxes. As I'm only ever likely to receive faxes after an email or telephone conversation I am happy with this arrangement. Either way, I can check the senders number for all incoming faxes and delete  the ones that seem suspect.I have not tried the scanner with high precision materials like photos yet, but have tried scanning business documents. The auto document feeder is such a huge bonus, particularly as I can scan in a stack of documents and save a single PDF file, before archiving or shredding the originals. The supplied software also includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR). I tried this on a couple of documents, one printed only and the other a complete form with printed and hand written text. It really does only recognize printed characters but then does so to a high level of accuracy. Nice as a freebie!. Also good if you need photographically scanned documents to be searchable (hint: you can create  a text file for each document you scanned in).Overall I'm delighted with this purchase. I'm a little disappointed that compatible inks don't seem available for it, but as I won't be using this for much printing I really don't care too much. If I have to fork out for branded inks, I'd rather be doing so for this unit than a cheap nasty one. This looks really good in my home office, with a reassuring solid feel to it. If I saw it I'd put money on it being a laser printer. This is a bulky unit so make sure you have space for its footprint as well as enough for the platter to lift. The ADF does mitigate the need for much space over it or for users to be able to look down on it. But the A in ADF stands for Auto which means it will probably go wrong at some point and you'll be left with manual scanning option only.Like many this doesn't come with a USB cable. I can understand this on super-cheap units but I would expect it at the retail price of this. Good news it that NCIX is about as good and low cost as anywhere to get the type and length you need, but make sure you order it at the same time unless, like me, you have an abundance.I highly recommend this to anyone, but do read the instructions and take time setting up the way you need it.

Cons: - Size (Larger and bulkier than the comparative HP J4580 AIO)- Slower printing speed compared to my old IP1500- No media/camera card slots

Pros: - Excellent price for a 4-in-1 with ADF (bought it for $50 during a surprise special)- Paper outlet opens automatically during printing operation (if it isn't opened yet)- Large, easy to use LCD panel with both Simplified and Traditional Chinese as language options- Decent scanning speed- Print out looks good even in draft mode- Works with the Asus WL-520GU router
Comment:
An amazing unit for the price. This thing WILL work with the Asus WL-520GU router with USB printer support!!

Cons: Color ink can be expensive

Pros: Great price for all the functions you get
Comment:
Great all in one printer, it is very cheap when on sale. Currently at $55 in NCIX, also includes a large LCD. Has all the functions a regular home user needs. Print quality is generally good, especially for the color photo prints. The only drawback is that it does not have separate color ink cartridges and therefore you have to replace all the color ink at the same time. But for the price, what more can you ask, definitely really good price to performance ratio.
