I have an esata port on my motherboard and it was available to both systems immediately after initially boot. 1 gb Music folder copied from an HDD in Mint in a blink of the eye. All cable connections included. Not big, but I don't believe it would travel as nicely as some other models. Not genuinely a con to me, but it is not plug and play.
