I have wanted an external HD for a long time but after study of many brands i was skeptical to spend so much when i found so many issues with many brands i had never purchased anything from this brand before but after receiving this HD i love it i plugged it in and started moving files no problem no hassle and to get a TB for under 100.00 WOW!! I also love that you unplug it when not in use so no power used no wear on the unit and finnally i have a safe place to store a password file that can't be accessed and i don't have to keep that list under the keyboard anymore i love this product and will use IOMEGA products again now that i know that they produce quality product at a more than fair price |

Rather large and heavy unit. It NEEDS a power supply in order to operate. It is NOT USB powered. Not one of those neat little HDD's. It was a plug and play unit right out of the box. Very quiet and cool running. |

I only have one negative thus far and that is--NO 'on-off' switch--a real drawback but otherwise one full terabyte for the money was a very good deal and the size and weight are both ideal. |

I've purchased 2 disks. For my Mac it works perfectly, just plug and use it. When not in use it stop turning. The second one for my XP's friend work well too but never stop turning, he should disconnect the USB to stop it. The problem is probably XP not the disk. At less than 100$ it's a real good deal. Silent, small and easy to use. |

I bought this unit a couple of months ago for backing up my bloated computer. Whem it arrived, I unpacked it, plugged it in and went to town. My files that are accessed on occasion are all now on the external drive and accessable when I need them. I highly recommend this product. |

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS SIMPLE, TO USE, SIMPLE TO INSTALL AND HOOK-UP DEVICE. I HAVE SUGGESTION - THE SMALL BLUE LED ON-OFF INDICTOR LAMP IS ON THE SAME END AS THE POWER CORD AND IS AKWARD TO SEE IF IT IS ON OR OFF. REALLY NOT A PROBLEM IF IT IS PLUGGED IN , IT SHOULD BE ON, BUT SOMETIMES I LIKE TO SHUT OFF DIFFERENT EXTERNAL STOREAGE DRIVES JUST TO SATISFY MY PERSONAL NEED TO BELIEVE I WILL NOT CONTAMINATE THEM BY MY CARLESSNESS. MY OTHER EXTERNAL DRIVES ALL HAVE THEIR L.E.D'S ON THE OPPOSITE ENDS FROM THE CORDS SO I CAN TELL AT A GLANCE IF THEY ARE POWERED UP OR NOT. IT IS EASY ENOUGH TO CHECK THE mY COMPUTER |

Works as advertised. I do like the fact that the drive shuts down when dismounted or unplugged. Stays cool even after 12 hours of running. |
Very smooth, fast, large backup. Worked first time, no installation necessary on Windows 7. I use it to back up 3 computers and sometimes to transfer large amounts of data not suitable for a stick.
