Cons: The connectors are not evenly spread out. 2 are very close together and one is further away. Fine for most towers so that the two connectors which are close together go into the drives and the longer one goes towards the motherboard. But I had to get creative with the cable management in my "small form factor" case.

Pros: Just what I needed since I broke my older cables while trying to pull them out.
Comment:
Buy them. Buy extras just in case.

What do you want for 2 bucks. I wanted to see what was on a old ATA HDD. What other options do I have. Whack it with a hammer

Cons: Not as fast as SATA cables...which I know, its just a fact.

Pros: Works with my PROMISE UDMA133 IDE ADAPTER PCI
Comment:
Bought on of these to add in my two drives 1.)Samsung Spinpoint 250GB IDE ATA133 7200RPM and 2.)Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.10 ATA100through my PROMISE UDMA133 IDE ADAPTER PCI.Also, I agree with Lightning on June 7, 2007 "motherboard manufacturers are starting to cut costs by only including one cable these days". For old systems you should always have one/two around or wait two weeks to have them delivered.

Did the job. Worked well and did not notice any differences between my old mb standard IDE cable. As SATA is now the standard, I would suggest getting SATA drives.

What can you say about a 40/80 Pin 18INCH ATA133 IDE Cable. It comes with 3 heads which is good.I worked fine as it should have... Cheap price is a big plus

Cons: No strain relief tabs to unplug connector (have to pull on the ribbon cable itself).

Pros: Reasonable price
Comment:
Needed one after adding a DVD Writer to a system to take advantage of full write speed (replaced older 40 wire cable). Got a couple of extra to have on hand for trouble shooting systems.

Bought a few of these as they are handy to have around. Seems a lot of motherboard manufacturers are starting to cut costs by only including one cable these days. For some systems that's fine, but sometimes you need more. Keep a few of these on hand and you'll always have one when you need one.

Always good to keep a few of those lying around... you don't want to start puting together a new build and realize you don't have any IDE cables. For $2, you can't go wrong with those!

I helped me a lot when I was troubleshooting some PCs, and since it's so cheap, I bought 4 of them. Up to now it works perfectly, it comes in a little plastic bag.

Does what it should and is dirt cheap for what it is. Great with a ATA HDD if you don't have extra cables around.

Cons: None that I know of

Pros: Cheap, Functional, Still Available, and they work
Comment:
These are great, in the fact that they are still available to be bought, and that they have the three heads, and that they are so cheap. I've had no problems with any of the cords I've bought, no matter what I plug into them, except when it comes to my hair dryer, then I have a problem.

Pros: Uh, cheap and it works!
Comment:
I remember when an 80 pin cable used to cost $10 from some places just a few years ago when ATA66 drives first came on the scene. A gouge, no doubt, but that's what happens when new technology emerges. There may still be "deluxe" 80 pin cables available, but I doubt if they're any better than these basic Chinese made units. Round cables are nicer, but for a budget system that's well cooled, these are perfectly fine.

Used in conjunction with LG GSA-4167B. Haven't seen any signs of trouble yet. Does what an IDE cable is supposed to... The 3 tabs are of different colours ... Motherboard connector is blue, master is black and slave is gray.

Works just like it's supposed to. Bought it to replace a 40/40 pin cable when installing a DVDRW - people underestimate the importance these when installing a DVDRW.

I've got some of these in my PC and they do me fine, they are rounded or anything fancy like that, they just get the job done. They never give me trouble, so I like them ok, nothing extraordinary though. This review was modfied by poster @ 05-01-05 01:51 PM

I have been using this with an NEC DVD Writer for 3 months now. No problems so far. However, the cable is not rounded and the connectors are hard to remove (as with most IDE connectors).

Comment:
Needed to replace my IDE Cables as my old ones were dead. Bought 2 of these and they work great. The cables itself is a yellow color, which I don't mind. So for under $2, this will do the trick.
