Cons: Wireless setup requires temporary connection with (provided) USB cable

Pros: Small footprint, no fax, high output quality, low price, can work in B & W only, Canon provides full cartridges with its printers.
Comment:
I had to replace the faithful 10 year old HP Deskjet 840c when a notebook was added to the house and wireless printing became necessary. I paid less for the MP495 including two full cartridges than the value of the cartridges themselves. As it has no fax, this all-in-one printer is smaller than most others in the Canon lineup and fits without problem in the space left vacant by the dearly departed Deskjet 840c. The printer/copier/scanner works flawlessly and the output quality is top notch for a tri-color cartridge system.Printing heads are part of the cartridges and are thus replaced with new cartridges.Yes, it has no LCD screen, but all functions are controlled by discrete buttons, so no problem there.Overall, a great entry-level all-in-one that's perfect for light home use.

Cons: none

Pros: Good price, reliable printer, wifi, iPhone app
Comment:
For it's price, it is quite the printer. Took some time to set up the wifi. Canon has all the driver and software available on their website for windows and mac. Although the UI looks a bit lame but hey~ as long as it's got the print/scan button. It even has an iPhone app. Now I can scan and print right to and from my iPhone! yay!

Cons: Not Laser

Pros: CanonPriceWireless
Comment:
Bought this on sale for $49. For an all in one printer, you really can't do any better. A scanner alone would probably cost $40. The only downside is that it's not laser so when you run out of ink be prepared to spend more than what you originally paid. This review was modfied by poster @ 08-15-11 07:11 AM

Pros: Quiet, smooth operation. Clean printing.

A nice, quiet, smooth printing unit. Extra features are nice and a bonus if you want to just do photo printing. Cartridges installed easily and at this price, cannot be beat!

Cons: Some small 'corner ghosts' with scanner at times but nothing serious. Need to borrow a cable (not included) for initial WiFi setup.

Pros: Small footprint when not in use. WiFi is easier than long cables. Cheaper than replacement ink for my elderly Deskjet. Multifunctions (scan, copy) simple and intuitive. Solid printing results.
Comment:
Got this in the Coquitlam store on a $39 special as it was cheaper than replacement cartidges for my old printer. No issues with WiFi setup and printing seems more than adequate for my document and occasional photo printing needs. Copy function is always handy to have around the house. The unit has a small footprint but be aware the infeed (if you keep paper loaded there) as well as the outfeed 'wings' will add a bit to that if your desk space is at a premium. Also the outfeed door opens AUTOMATICALLY so be sure not to set a cup of tea in front of the closed door and then send a print job.I did a lot of scanning of documents last week and noticed the occasional 'black ghost' on the very corner of scans, most likely from light leakage of the top but nothing major and easily cropped out. More diagnostics of my method may even be able to eliminate that. Good scan results in colour and greyscale otherwise. Only printed two photos thusfar using photo paper but results from a 10mp camera image seem easily vibrant enough for framing a 4 x 6. Will try larger formats later.Replacement cartridges seem on the lower end of the price scale which is a plus for anyone that prints lots. I had read about some Canon printers eating ink with automatic random cleaning cycles but as I keep mine powered down 98% of the time, it hasn't been an issue. I keep fairly close count on my ink useage so I'll watch closely and report back. Solid bargain at sale price less than $40.

Cons: - none

Pros: - good price (when on sale)- wireless- simple
Comment:
To be honest I buy a new printer every time I need to replace the ink (It's actually cheaper than buying the OEM ink separately). Instead of buying another pixma 2700 this was only slightly more and it had a scanner to it so I decided to bite. Works well, no complaints, I haven't needed to use the wireless function but it's nice that they include it. I wouldn't pay full price for this but would recommend when on sale.

Pros: Quality. Well built
Comment:
Its a good printer for the price. Used a lot the scanner and its works quite well. But honestly you should spend a bit more and go for the brothers because you can lan it and it has a fax PLUS the Brothers quality. But it doesn't make that one a bad choice.

Cons: None I can think of

Pros: Very compact, looks nice, good scanning quality, easy to set up and use over wifi, easy to use intuitive software.
Comment:
This is a good printer and worth the money. Now I can print or scan photos, documents or other stuff without the hassle of the USB cable. This works great over wifi as my roomates easily print from whatever locations they happen to be in the house. Overall, it is a solidly built product that should e recommended to someone looking for a good multi-function printer.
