Cons: Vertical Adjustment is pathetic

As I've seen with other ergotron arms, it is very solid. The heavy and durable construction means it's capable of firmly holding a monitor in place.This makes it a bit hard to adjust at times, but then the firmness makes sure it stays there once you've set it up.The issue I had with this arm is a real lack of vertical adjustment. The round joint in the middle is indicative of vertical adjustment, but it cannot go down (the picture shows it at it's lowest!?!).This is a deal breaker.If the arm does not have good range of motion, you can't get the monitor into the right position. My other more expensive ergotron monitor arm has much better range of motion, hands down. With my other arm, I can have the center of the monitor well below the level of the surface it's mounted on. The other arm can also reach higher than this arm to boot.So, despite being solidly built I would never buy this arm again. Instead, I would get a better model with better adjustability. |

Cons: Difficult to adjust for multiple positions

Once installed I found it very difficult to adjust the monitor at the end of the arm. The pivoting is achieved by two 180 degree joints attached on the end of the arm. If you do not have the arm fully extended you must find the proper angle of the two joints in order to have the display level and plumb. If you then want to change the position of the display, you have to start all over finding the joint positions again.I ended up using only the "elbow" joints on the arm, when I wanted the monitor closer I moved my keyboard and chair to the right.If you're planning on leaving the arm in one position, this one is great once it is set upI recommend the LX arm over this one, it is much easier to adjust. |

I bought 3 of these last year an planing to buy more.Worth every penny,much cheaper than trying to expand the office space! Nicely built , easy to adjust, and amazingly stable. |
I picked up two mounts and love them both. Both are very sturdy and it was very easy to install. I love the base of the mount that connects to the desk. It provides alot of support.
