Cons: None yet. Intel has spotty support in general for their networking adapters (IMHO) and finding compatibility info is difficult
Pros: Fast, auto-recognized by latest Intel drivers, signal with laptop antennas seems quite good, Bluetooth seems fine too with my BT mice. Comment:
I flashed my Ideapad Y500 BIOS to enable non-whitelist hardware and bought this adapter from NCIX for around $30.00. I Installed it as soon as I got it home, and haven't had an issue since. My 5 Ghz N connections are at 300mbps and throughput is quite good depending on other 5Ghz traffic in the area I'm getting anywhere between 80 - 140 mbps speeds so I'm quite happy with it. The Bluetooth works but needs drivers to install and a reboot, but the drivers don't tell you that. So far so good. YMMV because chipset support is spotty. I'm only reviewing this adapter on my Y500 with custom BIOS, so take it for what it's worth. |

Tried a few of the available drivers for this adapter, from 15.0.0.75 to 15.7.0.3 and cannot get a stable N connection with Win 7. Will work for a few minutes and then drop to 1-2 kB/s or just disconnect. Intel's forum is filled with people with the same problem for this adapter. The card is a little to long to fit a standard half pcie (The holes for the screws are not aligned properly). I would not recommend. |

Cons: It does not work. It won't find any wireless networks and it won't find any bluetooth devices!

If you read the Intel support forums, you will find that this board has lots of problems in OEM installations, and is not meant to be used in desktop systems!!!http://communities.intel.com/thread/31090?start=0&tstart=0I bought it and installed in an Intel thin mini-itx DQ77KB motherboard, hoping to save a couple of USB ports. It did now work at all. In the same system, my Asus USB based WiFi adapter works flawlessly. According to Intel, this board is not meant for retail sale.I also now have a completely useless BlueTooth keybaord that I purchased along with the 6235 :( |
Needed a replacement for the Broadcom wifi card in Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe. This one works fine, drop in replacement and downloaded latest drivers from Intel. No problems with Windows 8.1. Actually I think this is the same wifi card that's included with the WIDI version of this board.Should have gone with the Intel 7260 with AC support though but oh well, I don't have any AC devices anyways.
