Cons: ~Many 'non-believers' won't give this exceptional product a try at 50$

Pros: ~Smooth tactile glide with right amount of texture~Completely rubberized base is always stable and never moves~Understated, classic good looks - basic black fits in with most PC and home theater setups~Durable and true 180% aluminum plane with anodized oxide coating~Very thin profile makes it easy to store~Comes with an oiled shammy to keep up your surface
Comment:
Probably the best 50$ enhancement to my desktop PC experience I've ever made. Well worth the 15-20$ premium over other hard pads. You won't ever look back to the lesser offerings that abound the market. I started with a ball mouse on a desktop, moved to a piece of a diving suit and was happy. Then I tried one of the Belcan style ones with a soft wrist pad built in but it worked terrible with my new G9, so I got a ThermalTake hard plastic pad and was sold on the newstyle hard surfaces. Cue 2011, I had just ordered my new Cyborg RAT 9 and, as it was in the mail, I snapped my TT pad in half removing it from my desk to clean (was duck taped as the rubber grommets long since fell off) So here I was with the mouse of a lifetime and the diving suit pad wasn't working nearly as well as my 1977 hardcover copy of the original animated LOTR movie. I needed a new pad, and started learning about the current trend towards aluminum and glass making exquisite surfaces for high performance laser mice. Glass, even more expensive than aluminum, didn't appeal to me after snapping my last pad - so i settled on the metal ones. Most of the other aluminum pads I saw had dated, radical paint splashes and the like strewn across my workplane. I've bought great products before that made annoying (to me) stylistic design choices like my old Logitech g15 keyboard. If it bugs you at first, it only gets worse in time. In the back of your mind you're already shopping for the replacement. This pad is plain matte black with a couple tasteful flourishes like the cutout at the bottom for a wristwrest option, and a small (but removable) SteelSeries branding sticker at the top left. I actually thought I had gotten a bad mouse using my crappy makeshift surfaces - the tracking was off and it 'roamed' when not in use, and i couldn't push buttons on the screen, but when this arrived realized I now was in tactile interface heaven. Using it with my fully flanged RAT 9 laser mouse with the fins spread out right and left, this pad is a dream. I'm using a tactile fine-tuned mechanical precision instrument, finally after 15+ years of attempts. This pad is more than the sum of it's parts (now I just have to wait for a few final parts to be released so i can build a computer worth using it with}

ok, let me first say, ive owned a func 1030 pad for about 3 years, that things rough side glided like no other...but it started wearing out after a year. the SX seems extremely durable, and its glide is comparable to the rough side of the 1030, but it is less, actually feel like i have more control with the sx. Once u get this, make sure u wipe it with the oil pad they give, it makes a noticable difference, I am very happy with this mousepad! highly recommended for anyone who cares about their hardware!, im on a g9x btw, and have no tracking issues at all, very nice synergy.

Cons: Expensive! The "Steelseries" sticker is a thick aluminum sticker and can get in the way of the mouse. Why isn't it painted on or recessed?Shows marks, dirt, etc very easily.I am using it with a Microsoft sidewinder X8 and though I've tried three different sets of mouse feet, I find there is too much friction and everytime you move the mouse it sounds like a chalkboard being written on.

Pros: Very big mousepadThe rubber on the bottom is very grippyCool looking
Comment:
Personally I don't care for this mousepad and I will be sticking to quality cloth or glass units. This feels like a piece of anodized 6061 aluminum with a rubber back for $50...

Cons: huge mouse pad,can feel cold at times, dust and dirt easy to see and disturb mouse

Pros: Strong Aluminum,Smooth,easy to clean

I have 2 of these mouse pads and they are amazing, I will never buy any other mouse pad again.I go through a lot of mouse pads per year, because of sweat, dust and wear. I bought these mouse pads because it's aluminum and it was worth every penny. They're easy to clean, very smooth, seems very strong. Packaging included oiled cloth and new feet for my mouse.I hope these mouse pads last for years and I'm definitely going to buy more in the future.

Cons: - A bit pricey

Pros: - Best surface for a mouse I've ever used- Sturdy- Looks great- All of the bottom has a rubber grip, not just small rubber feet at the corners
Comment:
This is a great mousepad. I'm very glad I purchased it. Although it's a tad bit pricey, it's worth it. It seems crazy to spend this much on a mouse pad to some people, but for anyone who cares about the performance, they'll notice the difference for sure.

Cons: edges are not perfect as you can feel uneven if by running finger around the sides

Pros: strong, durable, slippery, smooth!
Comment:
All in all, this mouse pad is very nice. It glides very nicely and its a good standard "gaming" size mouse pad. looks very sleek and professional. Wish there was a traveling case that comes with it for something this much $$$

Cons: Not enough hype over this pad!

Pros: Smooth, cool to the touch. Included aluminum wipe on coating for extended life as well as an extra set of mice feet.
Comment:
Best investment for a mouse pad ive ever made, cloth is nice but a smoth aluminum surface with a no slip matting under will make getting you mouse to the edge of the screen in fast acting moments a breeze with no worries of the mat slipping away!

I just bought my second one of these as my first was showing a bit of aluminum through the main traffic areas after 2 or 3 years. It was NOT losing it's slickness though, i just sold it to my brother for half price and got myself a new one =PThese things are super slick and i love mine. It looks nice, stays in place on my desk and lasts for a very long time - still unknown how long it will last.Only things you have to be aware of is that it comes with a little oily cloth, not sure what the lubricant is exactly, that you wipe the traffic areas with every once in a while. I usually only wipe the mat after it needed cleaning. I wouldn't use much more than hot water and very diluted cleaning products to clean it. The oil cloth has the potential to dry up, but i think the guys at Steelseries would probably hook you up if needed. You also need to clear the dust whenever you feel the grind in between the mouse feet and the mat.Other than that it's mouse glide heaven and well worth the investment imho. NCIX also seems to have the best price going for this atm. I dunno if something else came out to replace this one but I don't need to look any further for the next 3 or more years...

Cons: None so far

Pros: SMOOTH!Large area Does not slip on most surfaces
Comment:
Simply amazed. I'm using this with Logitech G9, and it just glides EXTREMELY smooth. I don't think my mouse feet will be changed in several years. And the surface itself is so dense and sensitive that you can feel even micro-tiny particle when it's on the surface. If you want a really smooth gliding experience, you can't go wrong with this. After this, I cannot go back to cloth pads ever I think.

Cons: nothing I dislike about it.

Pros: Very low friction.Durable, after 2 years is showing no signs of wear. Large surface area.
Comment:
Im using this with a logitech G9, and the friction is extremely low between the two surfaces! The pad itself feels like aluminum, and has a rubber backing underneath to prevent the pad from sliding around. Comes with a lightly oiled cloth to clean the surface with. Steelseries has produced one top notch product here, that you wont be disappointed with.

Cons: Pricey

Pros: Extremely SmoothDurable
Comment:
Coming from a Steelseries QCK, you can immedietaly notice the benefits of a aluminum pad. The glide is superior (especially after adding the steelseries mouse feet it comes with to the mouse), the pad also won't permantly collect dirt particles in the fabric. The only minor thing that takes some time to get used to is the fact that its extremely cold to the touch, which after a few days you won't even notice. Works fine with Razer Mamba.

Cons: crooked, price

Pros: Quality of Material, accessories, packaging, color, finish, glide, tracking
Comment:
I love this mouse pad because of the tracking and the glide feeling. I've used the Razer DeathAdder and the Logitech G5 on it and they are both great, but the Death Adder had better glide and tracking. The only thing i dislike about it is that it came crooked, which results in the lower left part of the mouse pad scratching the mouse if i glide over it. Would recommend to ANYONE, WORTH THE MONEY!

Cons: High priceDoes not work with all miceNeeds to be cleaned on a daily basis

Pros: Very consistent and smoothEasy to cleanNatural rubber baseImmaculate finish
Comment:
Bought this mousepad a couple months ago and had some time to test it out.One of the first things you will notice with this pad is its extremely smooth. It does take some time getting use to at first like anything that's new, but once you get use to it you will never go back to a plastic pad... At least I'm not.The only downside is the very high price and the fact not all mice work with it.Mice that i have that worked are - G5,IME 3.0Mice that i have that had trouble tracking at high speeds - MX-510,MX-518This gets 4 stars for me for the simple fact that because of its very high price it should at least work with every single type of mouse except ball mice.

Cons: Expensive

Pros: Best mousepad I've ever used.
Comment:
This is a very high quality mousepad. My mouse glides very, very smoothly over the aluminum pad and tracks very well (I have the Logitech G5). I have found the mouse feet do wear down quicker when compared to my old plastic mousepad but this pad comes with extra feet you can attach to your mouse. It also comes with an oily cleaning cloth that works well and keeps everything smooth. Everyone that's tried out my mousepad comments on how smooth it is. It actually takes a little bit of getting used to but there's no turning back.

Cons: expensivesticker on surfacebottom edge is curved

Pros: really nice and smooth surfacelarge
Comment:
This is one awsome mousepad - its a plate of black anodized aluminum attached to a non-slip matte. My optical mouse tracks really well on it and glides very smoothly with no effort on it. Cloth mousepads don't even begin compare to this. What I do hate is the stupid logo sticker thats attached in the upper right corner - after carefully jamming in a thin sharp platic edge under it to pry it away (thats some really strong glue they used), to my horror there is a hole there (so unless you want to have a hole, keep the stupid sticker in place).
