Newegg shipping Where can i commence? When i reboot, it doesn't reboot adequately and hang's at startup till i press difficult reboot. I was acquiring crashes due to memory function's, the ram slots had been too close to the cpu as effectively as together. From time to time even on reboot it won't initialize usb elements, the bios is not very customizable as far as overclocking goes or setting distinct choices for memory timing and stuff. Perhaps i judged to hastely here and i just got a poor one by likelihood, but i need to not of gotten these problem's. I gave it a 2 egg simply because it did function, but there is too many troubles to give it a three egg.

Fantastic onboard sound. Nice overclocking characteristics and the ability to unlock cores in certain AMD cpu's. Only one PCI-E x16 and only 2 DIMM slots. I knew of these when I purchased it but, if you're seeking for a higher finish gaming MB pass this 1 up. The 1st one particular was DOA. RMA'd it and now this new one particular performs fine so far.

WORKED proper out of the box, a snap!Detailed manual.Wonderful computer software disk included, with plenty of useful utilities.Ease of setup. None! It's amazing how some reviewers price themselves as "high understanding", yet the overview they post is merely useless and rates the solution at 1 or two eggs, and they have had a entire bunch of problems with the motherboard, etc., and so on., when in reality the issue is the reviewers' lack of tech know-how, NOT the items' fault. But there are occasions when some merchandise are not usable from the get go, but rarely. Still in other circumstances, there are some truly bad solutions out there in some cases. But not this motherboard--- it's a great solution from MSI.I have boght two of these fabulous tiny boards and each execute flawlessly.Wonderful job MSI!!!

lots of capabilities in a little package. excellent htpc board had 3 of them die on me, gets hot, can't get hdmi audio to operate. i usually don't create reviews for solutions i don't obtain from the egg (heck, i generally don't obtain products from places other than the egg), but i wanted to share my encounter with this board. i attempted to overclock my 9950be a bit by raising the multi. while operating intel burn/prime, the board locked. i exchanged for a different one, and attempted to overclock the memory a bit by raising the ram voltage in the bios and the board locked on reboot. i exchanged for another a single, and attempted to overclock a bit my raising the fsb to a measly 208. even though running intel burn, the board locked. i exchanged it once again and am at the moment operating every thing stock.by speedfan, a single of the temp sensors (nb/sb?) gets genuinely hot ㆒-100. don't know if that's what was killing my boards during the tweaking

its a wonderful board, I don't know what other persons's issues are with MSI boards but I've been working with practically nothing but MSI for 10 years now for all my own builds and customer builds. I've however to have a client return a dead board or have one particular of my personal die. I've by no means gotten a doa board either. I've even applied plain jane desktop boards to run internet servers carrying out graphic intensive serving up to 100,000 uniques per week with no troubles. This board is fantastic for a mid variety htpc construct, I running a single now as a test board for unlocking processors and it's been fantastic for that. I have certainly no worry of developing a buyer develop with MSI boards and providing them a 3 year warranty to boot which implies for 2 years of that warranty it's out of my personal pocket if a board dies but I've never had to do that but. Don't be afraid of this board men and women, the onboard video is a excellent chip, mid level, good for films, world wide web tv, dvd's, blu-ray and some decent gaming on reduce settings. None, other than it could use a couple a lot more fan headers I bought this from Newegg as an open box so apparently somebody wasn't satisfied with their board or believed it was dead and rma'd it and I got a nice price tag break to buy it. It runs excellent and pushing a two.8GHz kuma at present at 3.2GHz. A pointer although as I see some men and women had video troubles, with ATI when you update drivers you have to unistall the old package completely, drivers, Catalyst Handle Center and ATI catalyst set up manager and restart then set up the new driver package if you don't want any bugs or troubles whcih I'm confident most of you know but there are less technical knowlegeable people who study this stuff and could not know this so just some friendly suggestions is all. MSI rules and all I use :-)

It's tiny and gets the job accomplished. It was capable to unlock my Phenom II. Nevertheless, once it was unlocked it was unstable so I relocked the other two cores. Not several expansion options (meaning handful of pci/pci-e slots) but I knew this going in.

low-cost. All in 1. I started having troubles appropriate out of the box. The IDE interface died within an hour, then the rest died about a week later. I believed at 1st that I wouldn't need to old interface, but then when it didn't boot, I thought that I really should have returned it from the start. Really should have bought from a properly identified name, from the start. I did ultimately return the board, and got a replacement. Not so delighted about MSI's web web site for updating the bios. You really should make it accessible to ppl who don't run windows. Operating ubuntu 9.ten - all great now at 3.1Ghz

Put this board in my new HTPC create and loving it. The board is super quiet, well layed out, has tons of SATA ports and an HDMI out!! Havent had any hiccups with the onboard graphics playing blu-ray's. As extended as you are not hunting for tons of expandability and just a strong board for a HTPC or an workplace desktop i would extremely advise this motherboard!! The headers are kind of poorly labeled. Different from any other motherboard i have noticed but no massive deal. If you plan on utilizing this board appropriate out of the box, just as it as it is, precisely how it was intended - then I doubt you will be displeased. The board was straightforward to set up and setup. Bord has a plethora of SATA connectors and they are in a usable position. The coolest issue about this board is the overclocking switch(s)on the board. I've in no way attempted oveclocking before due to the fact I didn't want to screw anything up that was beyond my knowledge level to repair. But with the switches on the board it tends to make it pretty significantly idiot proof to overclock by ten%,15% and as a lot as 20%... Thanks MSI.The key purpose I purchased this board was core unlocking... It not only functions but couldn't be simpler -1. Start computer system and hit delete to enter bias.2. Enter "Cell Menuŗ. Set "Unlock Clock Calibration" to Allowfour. Set "Advanced Clock Calibration" to AUTO5. Set "CPU Core Manage" to AUTOThats it. The 2nd core should be unlocked! Ok, like most things in life there are catch 22's with this board.First it wouldn't boot XP from a PATA drive I had it installed on so I had to do a fresh set up on a SATA drive. I almost certainly could've installed it on the PATA drive as it recognized it in BIAS but I didn't want to wipe that drive. Onboard video operates good with no overclocking or core unlocking. But immediately after I did each I couldn't watch video in most media players & diferent codecs I tried. I imply I could, but the video was slow! Internet video wasn't affected at all. I put in a video card and almost everything is back to neat. On board Ethernet worked wonderful for a couple of days but it began choking the signal. So I just installed a PCI. That leads me to the next "con" I certain hope none of the other onboard's go 'cos I've plumb run out of PCI slots to fill... Seriously two? Ugh, Fingers crossed! The only other complaints are that it could use a handful of far more memory slots. And I doubt yet another IDE/PATA slot would break MSI. More than all if you don't do anything to it then it's a 4 egg board. But when you start customizing it, it can go down real swift! But can 1 really fault the board for possessing issues with what it's not meant to do? Would you enter a Wise auto in the Indy 500? Yeah, I would to - thats almost certainly a poor analogy, but I trust you get my point!Bottom line - You have to decide what you want... Do you want a stock run of the mill board? Or do you want to turn it up a couple of notches and run the threat of possessing to add PCI cards that you possibly have collecting dust anyways? As it sits suitable now I'm more then content with the board, however if anything else goes MSI and I are gonna have to enter couples counseling!A single other thought. It's totally attainable that the drivers for the Ethernet and video could've been updated, but I didn't attempt as I had the components for the fast fix!

I didn't place this board into service till 30 days soon after acquire(fixed earnings obtaining parts each month) so I can't rma to newegg. I may possibly attempt msi to see what they say but I won't be capable to post it until next month...either way it seems I'm out of luck for now. >.<

MSI. Genuinely, I had no difficulties with MSI all through 7 years of Computer constructing knowledge. It's quantity 1 in my reliability list, and way worth it, bring about costs are commonly ten% less then any other trusted manufacturer may well provide. I pay not only for overall performance, but also for technique reliability and stability, so "more for significantly less" in my encounter was always true against me, for alternatively of paying significantly less for a lot more, I payed a lot more for much less. only two RAM DIMMs. It's undestandable because mobo max is only eight GB, and there's no need to have for a lot more anyways, but four DIMM rails would make it significantly less costly to build this 8 GB up. I want to reuse old RAM due to the fact this is an upgrade construct, but 533 might not perform with this mobo. We'll see.

Effectively, it boots. Compared to other makers it is equal to a lot of, greater than none. It doesn't blow up Like ASUS boards do when you plug in a usb device. It has a pci-e slot. wow. The SATA ports are to close together. Integrated video, of course, doesn't perform in Linux. ATI has develop into quite annoying. I mean c'mon a one man group to write driver code for a multi-national corporation with millions of dollars of income and millions of end users? When has everyone but a hobbyist worked this way? Linux is no longer a hobby. It is a monetary competitor to the main stream. Unlocking my black edition Phenom II X2 955 didn't operate. It wouldn't boot following attempting the unlock. Yes I have the appropriate version of the chip. MSI doesn't actually assistance Linux either. Here is one more corporation that has moved to on the net updates for bios flashing? Ridiculous. I had to get in touch with them to get a hyperlink to a bios file Which I can't use unless I make a FAT bootable flash drive, FOR LINUX?. I know how to do this but who the hell cares? So substantially for buyers initial. I am tired of the lack of excellent in Chinese items. If the corporations over there could turn up high quality control? As it stands now I really feel like we have been invaded by junk dealers with huge, greedy grins smeared across their faces. I'm certain an individual will come on here and get all upset at me or just try to rebut. Nicely that would be the particular person or persons unknown who stands to shed something like I did - funds. I thought about returning almost everything(at my expense?). Nah I just wont purchase they're junk for a even though.
