Cons: Old Bios need upgrade

Pros: Value for money
Comment:
Bought this on boxing day sales. Good price but after installing with a Phenom II x6 T1055 and windows 7, system unable to shut off properly. Fan goes on forever after power off. Problem resolved after upgrade Bios thru MSI live update. Seems like system was shipped with 2009 AMI Bios....

Cons: requires lots of updates

Pros: price layout
Comment:
This is a good board for the price. It is well laid out & lots of room for large video cards. Only drawback is that the bios & all drivers have to be manually updated in order for the board to work correctly....a tricky issue.

Cons: CPU heatsink is way too close to RAM

Pros: Sturdy, looks nice
Comment:
The build is sturdy and looks really nice. Only concern is the CPU heatsink you install has to be pretty small as the RAM slots are too close to the CPU. My RAM barely fit.

This is a Great Mobo!! easy install and tons of fetures!! Love the on-board overclocking!! If you are a hardcore gamer, this is the Mobo for you! I matched it up with an AMD Phenom2 X4 965 and 8 gigs of Ram, and it Blazes!! make sure you have some serious cooling though! i used a self contained Liquid cooling system for great results and easy instalation

Ordered arrived the very next day (Wow) Installed everything I ordered on it, booted and installed Windows 7 64 bit with no problems. Also installed several Linux distros on IDE and Sata drives and all is well. I am very satisfied with this mobo.

Relatively decent board. Set-up was straight forward, no problems. I coupled it with a Phenom II X4 965 - 4 gig RAM, no vid card (work machine). This set-up absolutely smokes the chips off the 955 set-up I have in my shop. Only thing I don't like is the mounting postion of 4 of the SATA's.... it's inconvenient to hook up the cables.

Overall, I am pleased with this board. they were quick to ship, and sold for a good price. I find this board has a great deal of features. There are huge overclocking capabilities, and I've never owned a board that had more settings one could configure. I was able to manually set up all my memory settings to make them work when I found that the SPD defaults were wrong. I also like the fact that one can save up to four bios configurations, so you can overclock and if it doesn't work you can reload from a saved working configuration. The only thing I don't like is that there is no parallel port, so I can't plug in my printer. I was aware of this when I bought it, so not a big deal as I intend to network my printer. Also keep in mind if you use Crossfire, it runs the two GPU's at 8x, not 16x.

Was not my first choice (website listed 1st choice as in stock but two days later I got email saying it was out of stock even though website still listed it as instock). I would call this an average MOBO. You can do better for the same money.

I was thinking of getting this MB until I went to MSI web site and found out that the 2 PCI-Ex16 is not a true 16x by 16x when you 2 Graphics card it is 16x by 8x, so I am going with MSI 790GX-GD70 which has 2 16X PCI-E slots

I coupled this MOBO with a AMD PEHNOM II X2 545 processor along with 4gig ram. So far I haven;t had any problems with the system. I built it using all ATA connections and no IDE components used, on the first boot up I got into the BIOS set my paramters as I needed to start, then on the second reboot it took off on my WIN XP PRO (OS) and the whole system loaded right up with no problems. The only thing is the hard drive is designated as the

I have been in the PC building business for over 20 years and I can honestly say this is one of the easiest boards to configure. The quality is outstanding, features are very robust. I am using this board with an AMD Phenom 995 processor and the results are mind blowing on Windows 7. MSI has a GUI software package that allows for easy direct BIOS and driver updates, simplifying the update process. Drivers that were included were all Windows 7 compatible (purchased only 1 week after Win 7 came out). Highly recommend and the Crossfire option is very slick. Well worth the money and works great!

I bought this board for all the great features it had at an amazing price. The reviews were not all excellent, but i figured i would be a lucky one. WRONG! built system, couldn't install windows. replaced board, 2nd board didn't even post. tried processor and ram, finally went with a gigabyte board.

Have had the board up and running for 1 mo Easy to hook up everyting. Back panel face was easiest yet to install. Only one con. 4 of 5 onboard sata outlets are stacked on R edge of boart and hook up horizontally instead of vertically. Better looking, but I suggest placing cables on lower outlets before you place board case. Will save you aggrevation later. The upper ones are more easily accessed to place further cables, and of course one is placed facing vertically. I have not tried overclocking yet. But without any memory set up or changes, loaded system and presto, up and running great. VERY FAST. I have been building my own systems for 18 yrs now. This has been the easiest yet.

First time powering up the mobo, it lasted about 10 seconds then died. Called Tech support and they had me go through MSI Support. (Tiger Direct would not let me exchange through them) Its been 1 month since I ordered the board,I still have no mobo. Last time I buy anything here again

This is one slick board. In the last 2 weeks I have had no problems with it at all. The install went smooth and it has some really nice features. Love the buttons on the board for power and reset. Be aware tho, mine came set by the factory to fun 15% overclocked on the FSB ( it ran fine, I just don't like to OC ) It is an equal to my old AN8 board.

I just have a simple non-overclocked Tri-core 2.6 AM3 CPU with this board (Graphical card is a different story ;) ), but so far I am highly impressed with how its turned out and handled everything, the disk drivers it came with are not worth anything though. Also, a huge pro for this board, it has the power, reset and clear CMOS buttons on the motherboard itself, which really helped me troubleshoot when I had a few DOA parts upon ordering my build

exremly easy to install it was my first build and i am verry impressed only issue was getting windows installed the book says to copy files to a floppy for win xp and you have to open the folder on the cd and move every file in the folder to a floppy individually so if you dont know exactly what your doing it can be a little bit annoying

This is a very nice board the BIOS is nice and straight foward and it overclocks generously Over all not a bad board at all for the price the only thing i would caution you about is that there is not a whole lot of room between the socket and the dimms i was able to get eveything on put theres not a whole lot of room left
