The board itself is a higher class design and style. Strong caps, six sata ports, along with all the extras (usb headers, rear port amount, and so forth) Running at the moment in it an AMD 3.4ghz quad, 4GB of AMP 1333mhz ram, along with 3 hdds, 2 dvds (ide) and a Geforce 8400GS. I don't know if this is a con, or just some thing I missed in the manual, but my top rated PCI-E port does not and will NOT AT ALL recognise a PCI-E video card, I get 1 lengthy beep, then two shorts, signifying that I have a VGA Error code. BUT...I plug the PCI-E card into the bottom slot, and it fires right up each and every time...I don't know once more if the ports are upside down (my father's ASUS board is like that) or if the top slot is damaged in some way. A Manufacturer's feedback would be totally amazing on this problem. Otherwise, once again a great board. The only explanation I "so far" have provided this board a 4Ǜ is since of the PCI-E problem I'm having. If MSI comes to me and tells me I was an idiot for not noticing that the ports had been in fact just upside down in the manual, I'll gladly no questions asked give it a five out of 5, but with 2 video cards and not becoming capable to use the bottom slot to test them, I had to return said cards as they have been as well long to fit with my many harddrives.Other than that challenge, Great board by MSI... Truly nice style and layoutNice colors, blue and black.Very steady also come Phenom x6 ready.Does have a OC switch but i seriously advocate to not use it. (See Cons)Does have floppy and IDE connectors (still usefull to some men and women)Lot of USB.The ONBOARD sound card is genuinely very good, crystal clear sound excellent and no electrical noise in background when working with Teamspeak and Ventrilo. It doesn't seriously help crossfire, its 16x, and electrical 4x (poor crossfire efficiency)No heatsink on the mosfet, so don't even bother to try the Easy OC Switch.The incorporated northbridge cooler is not excellent, as well tiny, quite few heat dissipation fin and they are kinda thick, without direct airflow from a fan it can simply reach ''dangerous'' temps and on my board there was like a tea spoon of thermal paste over the tiny chipset.Unable to study Voltages from any hardware on Windows. I'm utilizing this board since it came out and i'm seriously satisfied with it, the only significant con its i had to purchase an aftermarket northbridge cooler for my board, all the thermal paste on mine was dried and hardened directly on the heatsink didn't even bother to clean it off. |

performs, the bios is very decent. incredibly low-cost. seems to have concerns with stability at the similar clocks and settings as my asus m4n78 pro with the same components LED's are a little bright, only came with one sata cable |

I like MSI so thats a pro.Well made.OC Genie is good for men and women who don't know how to manually overclock.DDR3.Unlocked my X2 560 to a X4 B60 and overclocked it to 3.8 Not genuinely a con, but if you can't get this to work. Check the gold studs that are on your computer system case. Took me 2 days to figure out why it wasn't booting up, finally took out three gold studs and it's operating fine! -Nice style-Low cost-Gets the job accomplished The a single and most significant con would be the truth their is no Heatsink on the MOSFET. This makes this board really restricted on how far it can really be OC prior to you fry the MOSFET. I personally fried my MOSFET on this mobo due to voltages that Were deemed protected by the mobos bio and the fact that I could not get a stable three.eight on my Phenom 1055 without going to 1.43v. I fried when I was undertaking a burn in with Prime95 when I notice that my computer system shut off as if I pulled the power cord from the back. Inexpensive, properly made, and complete featured. Newest Bios version is horrible. Have to reset CMOS if I appear at it incorrect. Neglect attempting to OC or unlock a core or two. uncomplicated to install, simple OC and core-unlocking skills. None Good for the price! I did not use the constructed on OC switches, rather went in to BIOS to OC my Phenom II x4 to 3.8Ghz, runs fantastic. BIOS is effortless to navigate and has a lot of possibilities. |

It operates fine On their web page it says assistance OC ddr3 1600, but on newegg.ca it says ddr3 2000, i was gonna get ddr3 8gb 2000mhz when i understand this...so constantly verify the manufacturer site ahead of buying...newegg generally get some of the information wrong... It functions, it runs what I need to run, was somewhat low cost for all of the attributes it has, I guess. Looks nice I have in no way had a additional unstable method. If I'm lucky it freezes twice a day, generally much more although, at seemingly random occasions. It seems to freeze more when idle (which I think is strange) but it also freezes when I play games and I have to reset my system. I got this mobo only simply because I couldn't get my new CPU to operate properly with the one I was employing just before (AM2+). I can't say its fully its fault since I can't really cross-test with any other components but with the evaluations on this I'm guessing its the mobo. If I use the onboard overclocking switch it freezes even more usually the a lot more I go up (could be understandable) but even at stock speeds it does this freezing stuff. Functions perfectly with Windows in theory. It failed to work with a GNU/Linux OS and a higher-powered ATI Radeon GPU ). I loaded up proprietary drivers and fails to boot. It restarts to a Hyper Transport error. Do not get this board for Linux operating systems with the intention of employing a GPU. |

Was inexpensive, simple to set up, and so far is functioning wonderful. The only con was this was a new build and on initial boot it booted so quickly you couldn't even see a memory count or the command to enter BIOS. All you need to do although is spam the DEL crucial as it boots. |

Coming from a 1.6ghz Athlon on the old motherboards... this thing was a peice of cake! Just plugged in the cords and off she goes! No challenges whatsoever. I haven't bothered to overclock my athlon ii 2.8ghz cuz it's running windows 7 beneath 2gb ddr3 without breaking a sweat. Also inexpensive ( i adore sarcasm ). Very best bargain i ever identified! You could make affordable builds and make your income back easy working with this processor! |
