Ok, this heatsink is wonderful. Fundamentally it came in the mail, excellent shape, open up the tiny box it's in, initially thing I see? Tiny packet of thermal grease. Great, saved me บ. I'm already happy. Then it comes time to set up, it's got a good black plastic base plate, that you slide under your motherboard, and pop the metal holes by way of. Fits best and snug. Then it's as simple as apply thermal paste, and get the screws from the heatsink to fall into the baseplates holes. Now rather of plastic clips, this has perfect screws, that I loved immediately (old 1 broke mainly because of clips). It tightens quickly, and everything is good.Idle - 40C min, 42 typical.Operating Opera/Chrome/Firefox - 40C min, 45 typical.Playing a game (WoW) - 45 min, 50 average. This point is Remarkable. I went from 30 FPS on WoW minimum high quality, to 130 FPS. Now I only get 30FPS on ultra settings. Also this thing is quiet as can be, and effortless to install. Doesn't cook. Doesn't do the laundry. There is nothing incorrect so far. I'd definately obtain once more for any lower tier builds. For much more huge gaming I certainly would obtain like some Corsair liquid, but this is definately the very best bang for your buck you can acquire

Extremely low-cost and with cost-free shipping, it does a far far better job than the stock cooler. Not to mention this has screws rather of these cursed plastic push-pins coolers I got with my E8400. Cost and effectiveness accounts for the five stars - If you're going to be undertaking a lot of gaming, go for a better cooler. On the other hand, if you just want anything that gets the job done, go with this. I idle at 32 C and am at 43 under load. That'll do, pig, that'll do.

Quiet, uses screws instead of the plastic pins. surface region is a tiny small. This is an overall good CPU cooler. I have only had it for like a day but just before this i had a quite noisy and pointless cooler on my Pentium D 830, I replaced it with this, and i love it. Stays nice and cool, and was effortless to install.

1. Love the fact that it screws onto the motherboard rather than these stupid pins. 2. Can't beat the price tag on this cpu fan/heatsink. 3. It kept my E8400 CPU in the mid 40's although operating at 100% load for ten min. 4. Came with thermal paste which was a nice plus. Only factor to mention is that it's a tiny noisy, not that major a deal for me but had to mention. If you're seeking for a excellent upgrade from your standard fan/heatsink this solution is for you, the price can't be beat for the efficiency.

Secured to board with screws... Uncomplicated to mount... Maintains decent temps... For a ten dollar fan this point has no cons... This is a genuinely decent acquire for ten bucks... It is light weight, quiet, effortless to mount and mounts with screws... If properly prepped and mounted properly it maintains excellent temps... This is an great option for an upgrade to a stock heat sink and fan in a run of the mill general goal computer system make.

Affordable, mounts with screws rather than push clips, bigger surface region than stock 45nm coolers. Bottom of heatsink is not flat, I can really feel machining ridges. Heatsink base where it contacts the heat spreader is rather smaller, it will cover the core of the CPU but only covers maybe 1ǘ to 2Ǚ of the heat spreader.3 wire fan header, I knew this going in but nonetheless a con. I'm not certain if I'm going to use it. If I do I really feel that I'll have to lap the base smooth to ensure great make contact with.

- Value- Cools three-five degrees better than Retail Stock- Much much better than the freakin' push pins- Quiet- Basic - Installation isn't as rapid as a 'swap job'- 3 pin connector, vice much more modern and variable speed four-pin If you require instructions, you could as properly take your machine to the Geek Squad -- This factor couldn't be easier to set up. On the other hand, for most people, comprehend you are going to have to eliminate your mobo to install this as the back plate mounts beneath the board. It runs quiet than the fan on my GPU so I'll consider it quiet. It also has a bit of thermal paste, in case you can't come across your Arctic Silver...

This cooler is quite quiet even at 100%. At least it is to me. I adore the back plate screw thru style as I HATE these push and twist attachments or the locking clip ones. The Value is phenomonal. I only purchased this mainly because I busted the leg off the stock cooler when I was replacing the CPU.E8500 3.16 Overclocked to 4.2Idle temp with stock 44CIdle temp with Masscool 32CLoad temp with stock 59CLoad temp with Masscool 44C None. Purchase this for a low cost and functional CPU cooler. I am confident there is "better" coolers out there but this suits my requires completely on

This item does all it claims to do. It's fairly quiet when running, and keeps my P4 cool. Seriously, it's 27C whilst I'm typing. It came with a small pack of cooling grease. Incredibly handy I only applied about a third. It's low-cost and compact. There is no way to lessen the speed so when idle it's just running vainly, but at high usage times my cpu will reach 52C or worse some occasions. With this temp fluctuation, I guess it's negative for overclockers. The installation does take some time since you need to fit a metal piece on the backside of your mobo. But if you like your fan to remain firm and scr8wed in, this is ideal for you.

Really like the screw-in design, uncomplicated to handle Have re-seated this heatsink three times now and it keeps increasing over 60degrees celsius. Stock heatsink ran idle at 35, so there is no purpose for this. Not a fan of the open fins proper on the CPU. I purchased this heatsink because stock cooler sounded like a jet engine, and this 1 is louder than I expected based on prior testimonials.

Bought the 8WT15-38 to replace a stock Intel HSF that came with my Q6600. I could by no means get the 'push-and-twist' pins on the Intel HSF to fully lock and as a result my idle temps were hovering near 50C at idle... ouch.I extremely suggest it to any individual utilizing a stock Intel HSF with these blasted 'push-and-twist' pins. The 8WT15-38 was a bit of a discomfort to install as you are essential to eliminate the motherboard in order to attach the backplate. But, it was properly worth the effort. My core idle temps have dropped to in between 34-37C!The 8WT15-38 is a tad noisier than the Intel HSF but it's not noticeable unless you have your head in the case.

This is an awesome cooler for its price tag. Initial of all I required a cooler that uses screws so that it can perform with an older motherboard. Second, the cooler has good cooling functionality. I get 36c idle on the CPU (thermal paste is Arctic Silver Matrix. This beats my 40c idle on the same CPU utilizing the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro R2 (MX-two thermal paste). Did not come with Thermal PasteDid not come with Instructions Will obtain a different if I ever will need a cooler.
