No need to have for a big PSU. Vertical refresh restrictions in Catalyst software. Running this as a media center Computer with Win XP SP3. I have it plugged into my 1080P plasma. General the encounter is pretty good, nevertheless, some chop seems in flash videos when running in full screen mode at the high resolutions. The chop is tolerable adequate to watch. A major unfavorable is the Catalyst atmosphere forces 30Hz when I know the gear can run at 85Hz.

Single-slot, low-energy, HDMI (including HDMI audio) help out of the box, low price, surprisingly strong performance Sorry; they are nevertheless in jail. I purchased this card last week as an upgrade from my HD3450 (also PCIe) for superior video help on a budget. In addition, this card has turned out to be a surprisingly strong *gaming* performer (as extended as you have no objections with 1280x720 at higher or superior detail, and that is with the SC2 beta, no significantly less). In most instances, as long as you can retain the same aspect ratio, even on a price range FP show, you drop absolutely nothing with a card like the HD5450 at 1280x720 vs. a larger-end card at a taller resolution (except bragging rights and obtaining more dollars in your pocket). I don't know about some people right here, but I don't thoughts saving dollars when I can.

Great performance for a passively cooled low-profile video card. Good bang for the buck also. No real cons that weren't unexpected. Not the most capable gaming card. I have this setup in an HTPC with an older Core two Duo ƒ.2Ghz), 4GB of RAM, running Windows 7 Ult. 64 bit and Boxee, outputting to a 46" 1080p LCD Television. Runs like a champ. Most current version of Boxee interface utilizes DirectX, and it's smooth as butter. 1080p .mkv files run without a hitch, and audio sounds excellent. Haven't tried Blu-Ray due to lack of BR drive, but I'm prepared to bet it'll chug correct by it. Best portion, is it's affordable, runs fully on bus power, and PASSIVELY cooled. It truly is an excellent HTPC card. highly reccomend.
