Over all i loved this mouse to bits, and it was the best mouse i ever owned, My orginal G5 lasted me 2 years before i replaced it, the next one another 2 years, and my Gen two, is still working great, i just recently got a G500 for my birthday so my G5 G2 is going to a new home this holiday season.I Love Logitech products and i will always recommend their stuff and this mouse is defently no exception.

Cons: Too big, too slippery, too heavy

Pros: Looks cool, glides really good, forward backward buttons, adjustable DPI with horizontal and vertical separately.
Comment:
I got a small hand.I play FPS games.I am giving 3 star but I rather not buy it again because this mouse is too big for me.Also, this mouse is too slippery and heavy (even without any weights) so I cannot quickly lift up my mouse during my FPS game. Also, because this mouse is too big for me, I cannot move this mouse with my thumb and 2nd last finger for quick dash movement to the spot i want. Also, when I use this mouse for over 2 hours, palm of my hand starts hurting simply because my wrist never touch the desk or mouse pad I have so there is this constant pressure on my palm which also slows down my mouse movement and accuracy.I am a very picky person so I would not recommend this mouse to anyone who is awesome FPS player. So in the end, I returned this mouse.

Great mouse! I love the texture of this mouse, as well as the look, and with the special feet it has, it can slide smoothly on any surface.Nice long cord, able to change sensitivity on the fly, fits the hand very nicely, all around very good mouse!Definitely recommended whether you game or not

Pros: Great feelDecent looksAwesome performanceAdjustable weight
Comment:
I've had this mouse for a long time and it's probably the best mouse I've ever owned (going through MX900(forgot the exact number) and MX518). I love how it feels when I hold it; it conforms perfectly to my hand. Only bad thing is that there isn't a button to go forward, only backwards.

Cons: None that I can think of

Pros: The feel of the mouse is awesome
Comment:
I bought this for a fellow co-worker and as expected from Logitech, this is an awesome mouse to get for gaming or general use. It comes with weights that can be added to the mouse body to make the mouse heavier. The top surface of the mouse feels great in the palm. My next mouse is definitely going to be a Logitech.

Cons: - the shape of the mouse could've been designed a bit better

Pros: - Great response and feel- 3 DPI speed adjustment is convenient
Comment:
The best feature of this mouse is definitely not the adjustable weight, but the DPI. It's so convenient at times when you need 2000, 800 or 400. You can even adjust them with the provided software so it can be any combination. The only thing I didn't like about this mouse is the fit. It's hard to tell whether if my middle finger is supposed to rest on the scroll wheel or the right click. Most of the times, I find myself claw-gripping the mouse more just to avoid that sort of funny feeling. The glides on this thing is really smooth too.

Cons: Color Options, Right-hand only

Pros: Look, Feel, Weighting, Buttons, Finish, Quality, Percision
Comment:
This is by far the best mouse I have ever used. It works as well now as the day I bought it. The quality is top notch, and with programmable DPI up to 2000, it is one of the best gaming mice on the market. It's a natural fit for your right hand and the buttons are well-placed and solid. The weight system is awesome and well implemented. Until they perfect the wireless mouse for gaming (the G7 comes close), this is the must-have mouse. The only drawbacks I can see are it only comes in blue (perfect for my system), and it's only available for right-hand. Make sure you get this version (V2) over the older V1, since it has a better feel and extra button.

Cons: None

Pros: Cool design, super smooth scrolling, natural feel hold, customizable weight up to 36g, braided cord
Comment:
I really like this mouse because I took it out of the box and loved the feel of the texture. It goes well with my Lycosa Mirror Edition keyboard and it is hyper sensitive. I like how you can have it either heavy, in between or light depending on your preference and can fine tune it with the weights that come with the mouse. The only downside to this mouse that would make it even more cool is that there are no interchangeable face plates which would make it even more cool. Glad I purchased it and it by far the best mouse I have ever owned.

One of a kind. I've tried several brand include Razer and Microsoft.. And im back with my G5. I personnaly think its the best mouse out there for now. I personnaly hate wireless mouse, its getting me sick to have the battery changed im the middle of a game or something. Try the G5 and you wont be dissapointed.

Cons: -design isn't for everyone-not ambidextrous-not as high DPI as other products on the market

Pros: -adjustable weights-laser mouse-on the fly DPI adjustments-back/forward button-fits right hands comfortably
Comment:
Got this mouse for a while and still very satisfied with it. It even tracks well when I had the crappy mouse pad I got from my mobile phone service provider and it's even better on a proper gaming mouse pad. The feet is a little worn off but it can be replaced by third party products. The design isn't for everyone. Also there are plenty other mice with >2000 DPI, but 2000 is good enough for me. Highly recommended.

Cons: Can't think of any!

Pros: Comfortable shape, adjustable DPI, adjustable weights, cord means no battery
Comment:
I've had this mouse for over a year. I actually bought one for my desktop and one for my laptop. Both are still alive and well over a year later. They show low amounts of wear unlike past Logitech products I've owned. The texture on this mouse is very good and I prefer the shape of it over the MX and terrible VX mice. I got these mice at a sale for $29 each which was a steal! If these go on sale again, I'll stock up! :)

Cons: Lower max. resolution than many other newer models

Pros: Easily changed resolution, laser, easily changed weight
Comment:
I've had a G7 for a while now, and since I needed another rodent, I figured I'd go with what I know & like, but get a corded version to avoid the hiccups that the cordless G7 has. This mouse uses the exact same shape as the G7, which, for me at least, is very comfortable, plus it changes resolution via two easily reached buttons. This is also improved on the original version, since it now has two side buttons, instead of just one, and the coarse finish on this, although odd at first, is actually kind of cool, and makes for a good grip. The changeable weight system is a good idea too, since everybody has a different preference. Very nice mouse for the price!

Cons: None.

Pros: Precise, dependable. Very nice with drawing programs.
Comment:
Nice smooth action, doesn't need a mouse pad, doesn't mark my unfinished pine desk. The braided cord resists tangles. After three years, the scroll wheel stopped working due to debris on its optical sensor. Repair is simple. There are three screws under the two large slippy-pads and a fourth under the serial label, across from the sensor. Remove the two pads carefully and the rest is easy. Another screw secures the wheel assembly and it comes apart for cleaning. I stuck the slippy-pads back on with double-sided tape.

Cons: TextureI don't change the sensitivity ever

Pros: Quality Weights
Comment:
I upgraded from a 510 and was debating between this and the 518. I decided to go with this because it had more features. At first i was not completely pleased as the texture was a big change and i couldn't get the sensitivity right. Since then i have gotten used to it the texture and the mouse has started to grow on me. Either 518 or this are great, i would probably choose this again.

Cons: Mouse texture may not be for everyone, it's kind of rough but I don't mind.

Pros: Great at tracking at all surfaces.Appealing design (to some, anyways)Side buttons VERY handyAdjustable weight cartridgeAffordable price when on sale or price matched
Comment:
This is the first "gaming mouse" I've purchased, as part of my recent gaming build. What can I say, this is LOADS better than the traditional Logitech generic optical. Side buttons are very handy for voice comm apps and in game chat, etc.In general, very good mouse for the dollar. Paired this with a Steelseries Qck and I like it.

Cons: Clunky software. Mouse settings do not apply after a reboot unless I manually open/close the software. Horrible middle mouse button.

Pros: Great texture. Nice to be able to change DPI on the fly.
Comment:
I wish I could say better things about this mouse but I have been very disappointed. It's nice to be able to change DPI with the buttons and the mouse is comfortable, but these are the only good things.Unfortunately the software is extremely buggy and will crash randomly. When it crashed you have to do a full reboot to get proper functionality back. I've formatted/reinstalled windows and the problem remains. Also, every time I reboot I need to manually open the software via the system tray in order to get my DPI settings to apply. This means that when I boot windows it is automatically set to MAX dpi which is far too sensitive. Also, the middle mouse button just sucks. It's virtually impossible to click it without also pressing to the left. It seems like the side-scroll to the left button is very loose compared to the center button or scroll-right. Another problem with the center scroller is that it does not always register scrolling with a single notch, or sometimes it will register 2 scrolls when you move it one notch. My $10 microsoft optical mouse is has a superior scroll wheel. Conclusion: comfortable and quality texture, but I would NOT purchase this mouse again due to the exasperating middle scroll wheel.

Cons: -Expensive-Logitech's eternally crappy software-Looks kinda cheesy-Pressing down on the click wheel usually presses it left or right, not down

Pros: -Very comfortable just like my MX510 was-Grip surface has a gritty texture that I actually like-Good build quality, cord is braided-Laser precision-Weight kit if you will actually use it-Lotsa buttons!-On the fly DPI change (will never use)
Comment:
I was looking for something to replace my worn out MX510 and decided on the G5. It is a nice mouse and worthy replacement. SetPoint is annoying and has Vista bugs but it's not too painful to use. I would definitely recommend this mouse to an MX510 or MX518 owner.

Cons: not enough weight control

Pros: Will mouse on just about any surfacegood cord length
Comment:
This is my favorite mouse of all time. The weight control is nice, however I put in all the weights, or have none in it. There should be better weight control where there is a larger range of weights for it.The buttons seem to be in the perfect position, even for my small hands, and the changing of the dpi settings on the fly is perfect for fps games.

Cons: - The design might not be to every one's liking ( cracked blue earth )- The top buttons offer more slip then the side material, gives a weird feeling when playing FPS. Not a bad feeling just a different sensation.

Pros: - Awesome comfort for right handers- Drivers and Software are excellent- Weights add a different aspect- Plenty of extra buttons- The material used for the grips are awesome
Comment:
Love them, the dpi buttons help alot when I'm sniping or rushing. Very comfy and the weights are a really nice touch. I don't know how else you can make it better besides the dpi.
