I was hesitant to spend this much on a remote control, but I am so glad I did. Previous remotes would operate some of the functions on most of our equipment, but we always had to leave them out to access the remaining functions. This remote actually replaced every other remote we own with plenty of room to grow. Highly recommended!

Previously I owned the Harmony 720 and it worked great for the past 5 years or so, a few buttons starting going out on it, so I ordered 2 of the 880's (one for me and one for my parents). My father is far from technical so I gave him one of the remotes so he wouldn't have to keep up with 5 or more for all his devices and kept one for myself so when he calls needing help I can tell him exactly what buttons to hit and where they are on the remote. It is so simply setup that even he figured it out in no time. Great quality for a good price.

We had one of these 880s and when we automated our home systen with a HDMI switch to sahre devices we bouight three more. The Harmony software pick and choose device lists are very complete for old and new devices. If you have a PS3 then buy the Logitech PS3 adapter to convert your 880 IR to PS3 radio wave.

We bought this remote to replace an older model which didn't survive being hurled across the room every so often. We really like the features of the remotes in this series. The only issue we have with this remote are the number buttons are extremely sensetive.

just got this remote and set it up, what an amazing device, I had lost the remote to my VCR which was 10 years old and this untit picked up the codes and went to work, Also has codes as up to date as my new Blu ray player, set up is super easy. If you don;t have one of these, save yourself the headache of multiple remotes and buy one!

I have owned my harmony for about 3 years now and I got frustrated when I read these reviews. This remote makes the most complex home theatre systems operable by anyone. My wife a self proclaimed non-techy can run our system as a direct result of this remote. I will give you that it will take about an hour to program if you have alot of equipment. Once the initial programming is complete you are set to roll. In regards to the whole battery issue I have yet to experience anything negative besides me not setting it correctly on the charger. GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT REMOTE TO SIMPLFY YOUR LIFE!

This remote is awesome, replaced 4, looked great, and for a while, worked wonderfully. Then the charging dock started cutting out randomly. These charging issues became more frequent until, eventually, the unit went to sleep and never woke again. The horde of old, dusty, LCD-less remotes now clutter the coffee table again, mocking me....

I am confused by the comments I am reading about the setting up of the remote. It really cant get mush easier than this. An online wizard that asks you specific questions on what you want your remote to control? Someone explain how this is hard... All in all, I love this thing. I have not seen the charging issue or any of the charging base issues. Maybe people are too hard on their equipment. and ya, I have a 2 year old that PETA has a contract out on considering what he does to the family dog.

Very easy to set up by entering your product numbers on-line while the remote is attached. After I obtained each of my seven item numbers, it only took about 5 minutes and was working perfectly. The battery charger base could be better designed because if you do not set it firmly, the connections sometimes do not sync. My last one died after 3 years for some unknown reason.

Read reviews on the web by looking up harmony 880 battery charge as key words. As I have found out this model seems to have a design defect in the battery charging case. Lots of articles. Buyer has been warned

The product is very good and handles most systems fairly easily for installation. More complex systems require more effort but are workable. With a complex system once it is set up, there are just too many buttons to have to use. However I don't know how you would accomplish the complexity of these systems with fewer buttons. If you are a technofile you should have no problem with setting up and using this remote but if you are not it may become labor intensive. However I have also tried other cheaper models by other manufacturers that are almost impossible to use with complex systems. Therefore I rate this unit 4.5 stars.

Harmony help is really trying hard to get it going for me, but existing DVD recorder with hard drive is proving difficult. Still trying, but so far still have to use the originals remote to cover all the bases I need.

This remote should be standard equipment with all new flat-panel TV sets using a CD, DVR or any other added equipment. Much better than using multiple remotes. Service and delivery was prompt and on time as promised.

As a previous owner of the Logitech Harmony remote model 659, I knew this would be a great product. I was concerned about the switchover, and if I would lose any of my settings. When I clicked the "Replace Remote" button in the software, everything was done for me seamlessly! The 880 has all the features you could want in a universal remote. I love the color display, and the additional buttons (more than the 659 has). The remote senses when it's been picked up, and automatically lights up the display (pretty cool). The ability to select a large type format for the display is helpful for someone that requires vision correction for close things but might not be wearing that correction while watching TV, movies... I've only had the remote for about a month, but so far the charging station is working fine. I've read reviews that say there are some problems with it, but I think that's the exception, not the rule. The only thing I wish that Logitech would provide is a Linux

This is a fantastic remote. I have no complaints about the remote. The only thing to be wary of is the charging stand. They do not last. I have replaced mine once after less than a year and now the second one is starting to wear out. If yours is starting to go make sure to get it replaced while it is still under warranty.

I just got this remote recently, but I've loved it enough that I couldn't help but write a review for it. I used to have different remotes for everything, but now that I've set up the Harmony remote, I've been able to get rid of those 4 and just use a single one. Other than not being able to communicate with my computer the first couple tries, set-up was quite painless (no problem with the docking station, as other reviewers have had), allowing me to set up pre-determined commands that do exactly what I want. It's so nice to just be able to sit back and control exactly what I want to watch/listen to from bed, and then turn it all off with one button when I'm done. Sure, it can't do absolutely everything, as it can't be pre-programmed to, for example, hold down the Play button to put my AppleTV into standby with the rest of the equipment. Instead it just sends a single button press which doesn't quite do what I want, but what it does, it does incredibly well and incredibly painlessly.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. THIS IS THE ONLY THING I HAVE BOUGHT THAT MAKES ME HAPPY...first of all, I received a call from my neighbour, he told me that my new universal remote was controlling all his electronics in his house (including the fridge). About a week after I bought this remote I begin using it as a game system controller, it works for my Wii, PS3, and Xbox360. This is truly a miracle of a product. I pissed my pants laughing when I started controlling my neighbour's garage, and cell phone. Soon after I hopped into my car and started driving down the street. My neighbour was in front of me with his car and so I pointed the remote towards him and pressed 1 button and his brakes turned off. We got to a stock sign and he just kept going. I called him on his cell phone and asked him, why did you not stop at the stop sign? He was breathing heavily and screaming in his car. I also saw flailing arms through the windshield. This product is truly the DIVINE ULTIMATE MAGNUM OPUS!!!!!!!!!

I have had my 880 for almost a year now and it is operating ''Completely'' 1 Pioneer receiver, 4 vcrs (2 Panasonic, 1 JVC, 1 Sharp), 5 televisions,(1 Toshiba, 1 Daiwoo, 1 Memorex, 1 Samsung, 1 Westinghouse). Also a CD/Radio/Cassette by Aiwa. In addition to, 1 cable bx,(Motorola) and 2 satellite receivers (Viewsat & Sonicview). I recently purchased a new Satellite receiver with ext hard drive and because it is new, logitec did not have all the commands. I used the IR learning function to learn every command from my remote. All commands work well. The only thing I could not operate is my Huntington Ceiling fan. That is why I give it a 4 for features. Very good buy. The recharcable battery lasts a long time before needing to be recharged. Oh, it will not make Popcorn. LOL!

well cycloman, just put little weight on the remote to get good contact with the base for recharging the device, easy like that. Easy to change configuration and setting are kept on the web server of harmony. I have setup the device for pioneer 1381 and it work to fix my pioneer DVD 633 with hard disk. You setup 2 user, one for each configuration. It will open you tv, sound system, dvd in one click(be sure to point long enough to the device so all of it will go on). This device is great. ncrstc

Works great... until it dies. We've owned this for a couple years. It works all the gadgets. Very cool. A bit of a chore to get it programmed, but even that was pretty slick once you get used to the software. BUT... The buttons have started failing. Googling around for this problem shows that it's a very common complaint, and that Logitech will hide behind their 12 month warranty. I took this apart and was disasppointed to see that each button is a metal circle, somehow fastened to the printed circuit board. Nothing can be done to repair it short of replacing the board. Other remotes have rubber keypads that can be cleaned and reassembled. Not so with this one. We paid almost $300 for this thing. Given how long we've owned it, I'd say that we paid about 50 cents a day to use this... and now it's nearly useless. FOR THE PRICE OF THIS THING, LOGITECH OUGHT TO BE A LITTLE BETTER ABOUT STANDING BEHIND THE PRODUCT.

Very good universal remote. Beware of settings that toggle. For example when you shut down your TV does the video input reset back to default (this is the best for the universal remote). There is no two way communication between the device being controlled and the remote. The ergonomics of this remote have superseded the functionality of it. The docking station/recharger is CRAP. I have had this remote for two years now and have never been able to just place the remote on the cradle and have it charge fully. I have had it discharge or do nothing. The three spring contacts are too precise to offset any warping of the cradle (thermal effects) or vibration nearby. I am so pissed off on this bad design aspect that I will never look at a Logitech product again. The least that Logitech could have provided is a monitoring LED that tells you when the unit is charging. Eventually I soldered a small piece of wire on each contact on the remote.
