Cons: Model has been around for years

Pros: Durability, Sound quality, Price
Comment:
I've had this set of speakers for several years and they have served me well over that time. They sound great, and the Sub add just enough oomph for my tastes. For the price you can't really beat the sound quality. I think you would be hard pressed to find a 2.1 system of equal value and quality for cheaper.

Cons: none.

Pros: Sound reproduction excellent, enough power for any music. THX certification does mean something.
Comment:
After much research i bought this and am so pleased with this product. I was a little skeptical when i saw MADE IN CHINA, but this is a quality product. Any music enthusiast should buy this, i love it. Beautifully tuned bass enclosure, just wish the satellites had wall mounts.

Cons: Terrible Sound QualitySub Woofer is loud, but lags behind speakers. Sounds muddy and out of tune.

Pros: Setup looks good
Comment:
I bought these on sale for a good price(in the US) after reading amazing reviews and was excited to add these to my setup; however, when I hooked them up they sounded terrible! Later resold them on craigslist for higher than retail. If you want decent speakers, I strongly recommend NOT buying these. I opted to go with the M-Audio AV40s and they are far superior for a 2.1 setup.

Cons: too bassy

Pros: Loud, decent sound
Comment:
Well for audiophile these are decent. Compared to my Bose these are very loud and a great system for the sale going on today. Well worth their weight in gold. However I run a Z5500 which is decent, just not as good as my byerdynamic headphones.

Cons: price should be around $140 CAD, subwoofer is too big imo

Pros: Clear audio through low to high, great bass
Comment:
I upgraded my speakers from Logitech X-230 and the audio quality is better. No way better, but an improvement. I would no pay $190 CAD for these speakers. Around $140 would be a good price. My old X-230 were not bad but the speaker cable broke so i needed a new set of speakers. Both speakers were used on a Creative X-fi platinum sound card and the difference is minimal for gaming. Music and movies , the Z-2300 excels. The better bass also makes these speakers better.

Pros: SoundPriceGood looking
Comment:
These are NOT the best speakers. They are however one of the very best computer speakers. For about $110 you get 2 speakers, a subwoofer, and a remote. The sound is very decent and blows away the Harmon Kardon system from my 2001 Dell I have been using. I was not expecting these to be audiophile speakers so I am very pleased with their performance.

Cons: Not 5.1?

Pros: Sound quality, build quality and price.
Comment:
These speakers are incredible. I would be hard pressed to find another pair of computer speakers that sound better than these, in any price range. I've used them for games and music on my PC, and currently have them hooked up to my audio-out on my LCD tv and they are absolutely stunning. If you are looking for computer speakers at all, buy these. You will not be disappointed.

Cons: Bass can be boomy and muddy, satellites can't keep up with the subwoofer.

Pros: Excellent for the price, when on sale
Comment:
I have been using these speakers for two years with my basement workshop PC. They look nice and are quite powerful. The satellites are a bit weak in the midbass and high end. They have kind of a B*se sound, which isn't so bad given the price of this system, especially on sale. (I bought this system for $109 with free shipping in 2007).The subwoofer improves significantly if you lightly fill the enclosure with pillow stuffing. This would be a good system for gaming, but it isn't very good for music. If all you have heard is B*se or little shelf stereos you'll think this set up rocks and you'll be very happy. If you're a bit more experienced you'll be disappointed in the music performance. You can easily replace the satellites. I now use a pair of Minimus 7 as satellites and it is a big improvement. The amplifiers in this system are quite good. It is pretty difficult to get clean bass out of it, but you do get LOTS of bass, except the lowest notes.

Comment:
These speakers are great. If you mostly listen to music and play games, these speakers are perfect. I've been really happy with them so far. The only problem with them is the bass can be a bit much, not for the listener, but for anyone else in the house that doesn't want to hear the deep rumblings that this sub woofer producers. Overall very happy and would highly recommend them.

I've been using these speakers for 3 years now and they still sound amazing. I've plugged them on my Xbox360 and let me tell ya Gears of Wars suddenly became even more amazing (if its possible). My neighbor would come knock on my door to lower the bass even though it was only half way up...awesome speakers and it comes on sale pretty often just got to wait for it.

Overall I am very happy with these speakers. Have lasted 3 years with no problems whatsoever. I purchased this product for $100 on sale 3 years ago and they still retain their value. Your best bet for a power 2.1 speaker set. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-17-08 08:24 PM

Cons: Very Heavy and the sub is pretty large.somthing that may have to be considered in some situations.

Pros: Loud as H*ll.It shakes the walls.
Comment:
I have purchase three other 2.1 sound systems prior to this one and this is the only one that I found could replace my dedicated sound system. The mid-range is solid and the high-range is thunderous yet,has good tone. The low-range is good as well.I do have to state that I have known of several people who have blown the speakers while using them sustained at very high volume (I really think any speakers would suffer from extended high voulume use though)I have to give this system a very high rating as they are good enough to replace my stereo...That says alot.

This is a beautiful piece of stereo equipment. I am a bit of an audiophile and I must say that this bad boy did not disappoint. Looks-wise it's very nice and sleek. Performance-wise the bass is thumping and the sound is crystal clear even at higher volumes. The best part is that the silver and black match my laptop. On the downside, it has more wires than I know what to do with and it is very heavy.

Cons: I can see the controller being broken easily if not taken care of, the main sub is kinda big and heavy for computer speakers, and the added subtle warmth of having top quality speakers isn't there. No EQ controller i guess aside from bass knob

Pros: Crystal clear Highs, highly controlled lows, sounds great, lots of power, and a price/performace ratio that is very good.
Comment:
So I bought these as a bridge between my old speakers which i hated and pro audio sound monitors for my in basement sound studio that I'm going to attempt to build in a year or so. I went straight for my better audio file collection and these things have alot of clarity and the bass is completly controlled. The second test i did was that i plugged them into my 2,400$ Roland TD-9 virtual drum kit. I cranked these things and the sound was very well defined, all the instruments came out nice and not once did it distort or muddle the bass. But then I looked at my guitar and amp and got an idea for a third test. I have a Fender Cybertwin guitar amp and an ESP F-400FM guitar totaling $2700 spent. So i plugged the speakers into the onboard headphone jack it has, told everyone in the house i was going to test these speakers so they wouldn't get scared and proceeded onward. I found a flaw with these speakers. Its that compared to my amp's speakers they miss that oh so subtle warmth quality that my amp speakers completely captures. But that is trivial when compared to the price. Because you don't compare a high quality guitar amp to $120 speakers. And like the test with the drum kit everything was really well defined, bass was controlled, nothing distorted even at top volume and it sounded great. Hopefully this helps :) This review was modfied by poster n 08-15-08 12:22 AM This review was modfied by poster @ 08-15-08 12:42 AM

These speakers are simply excellent. Totally worth the extra money. THX certification may not mean much to some, but it really makes a difference, especially when moving from a thirty dollar pair of Cyber Acoustics speakers.

Cons: Not very good for music. Sound is not balanced.

Pros: OK for gaming and movies.
Comment:
I paid $100 for these, and I think that's a fair price. The sound is not at all balanced. I would love to see the frequency response curve for these because it would probably look like a roller coaster with no highs and a giant mid-bass hump.Using test tones on the sub shows a lack of any real bass. It rolls of steeply well before any real sub ever should. There's lots of mid-bass though! The levels of distortion on the sub would probably be off the chart if anyone took the time to measure it, but it's loud so who cares right?I have some Creative T40's that I listen to at work that I paid the same amount for, and they are way, way more balanced, natural and open when doing back-to-back listening comparisons. The T40's have no sub or even sub-out, so the bass is pretty weak, but for most of my music I would take the T40 any day. For games and movies the Z-2300 is better because the sub is more involving and I don't tend to focus on the sound quality (or lack thereof) as much.If you just want loud and cheap, these will do, but if you're looking for something that begins to approach the sound quality of real hi-fi then buy the Audioengine 2 instead to start and add a sub later if you need more bass. Your ears will thank me. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-16-09 05:30 AM
