This was my second magellan GPS, I gave the first to my daughter, and she is very happy with it. I replaced my with the same. It is simple to use, and very reliable. I had a good deal. |

The Magellan RoadMate 1430 worked right out of the box like i knew it would. only issue i had is that the batter comes about 10% charged so you have to leave it in your car for a while to fully charge it. Functionality is great and would definitely recommend to anyone! |

If you live in an area with new housing and roads, you might consider another brand. Magellan charges $80 for a map update. Why pay for this when you can purchase another brand that gives you the free map update. |

It is a good product for the price. My only complaint would be that some newer freeways are not on it, ie. I74 in N.C. showed that I was in a field. It did fine in all the cities I have gone through. I have used this dealer before and their price is fair and their shipping is fast with good information. I would highly recommend them. |

I just got mine for a trip I'm making in the near future. I cannot tell you now how it'll perform but can tell you that right out of the box, this seems like a winner. It was very easy to set up, so easy I didn't need to refer to the CD manual and being that I've never owned a GPS before, this was my main concern. So if you're thinking of getting one, don't hesitate, this one's the one! |

This little GPS unit is much more than I expected for the price I paid. It works flawlessly, even at my house out in the middle of the countryside. Screen is clear, directions spoken clearly and can be understood even with the radio playing at a normal volume. Overall, extreemly happy with the 1430. |

I purchased this unit because my wife has required a lot of eye surgery over the past several months from various doctors. When the unit arrived I charged it up via the USB port on my PC and entered the address of the next doctor appointment, which is a locatin over 60 miles away that we had never been to. Installing the included car mounting system was super simple. The unit was very easy to program, the volume was adjustable and very adequate to overcome vehicle road noise. The brightness of the screen was a little lacking in bright sun but allowed enough clarity when viewing head on to be quite adequate. The unit took us right to the location we sought. It gave verbal ques for all turns as well as lane changes to be in the correct lans for the up comming turn or merge. This is a great buy. We love it. |

Has several areas where i live that are older then 10 years and still not listed in this, but I do live in a smaller town... Go to the city and finds everything... Bought 2, 1 for work and other for personal car... Love IT!!!! |

I've tried the other brands, and Magellan is the best! Love the 1430, I have two and my son has one. Wouldn't give it up! This is a Great buy at the price! |

The unit works as advertised. It is a good, basic GPS. It does not have a huge number of bells and whistles, but it does to suffer for it. It is a solid buy. |

Once I figured out that there is not much to add from the computer, other than to use it as a charger, I got on fine. The unit itself does all that I needed it to do. I can set up my routes for the week ahead, as I work as a rep and just go. I needed it to have memory for my addresses and my trips and it does. It is great. It works while it is plugged in, which I know some brands don't, so I don't really have to worry about the charge. I am very pleased. |

This GPS worked right out of the box with minimal instruction necessary. It is very user friendly. The price is too low for all the features!
