This laptop runs games like a champ! On my other desktop I could only run Minecraft on short distance rendering and "fast" graphics, and it wasn't that good, but this factor handles far rendering and fancy graphics like it's no effort! Also, the sound method. OH MY GOSH, it's so incredible. Surround sound. On a laptop. I can't say sufficient good points about it! The keyboard is kind of bothersome, but it's a laptop. You're not going to get a fabulous keyboard with 99% of them... I have to be incredibly careful how quickly I sort and exactly where I place my fingers, but I'll most likely get applied to it. Not a large deal; I can just plug in a actual keyboard. The guy who said the webcam didn't work -- It does! Same thing occurred to me, but all you have to do is download the drivers for it. No problemo. Google search for what you need to have, and presto! Working webcam.

Incredibly quicklyRuns almost everything I have attempted so farFantastic battery life Webcam does not operate at allSkips letters if you variety rapidly So far I have employed this computer system to run Starcraft 2, Left four dead 2, and Civilization 5. Runs everything flawlessly. Also when working with in an eco mode with bluetooth and wifi off to use office I can get 5 hours on battery power. I have not tried gaming on the battery however so not sure how lengthy I could get with that. I gave this 4 stars even with the above cons because of how great it is for gaming. Even so if you type really rapid you will possibly get rather frustrated with this model do to it missing keystrokes when typing fast. Also I can not get the webcam to operate with either the installed software or other third party applications but I have not however tried MSI help. N/A N/A To mozakca: Um, the card on this machine as with 99.9% of all laptops is an onboard video card. Just since it has devoted memory doesn't imply it's like a desktop exactly where a burnt out video card can be pulled out and replaced. If the video card is burnt out (which I doubt is the situation) the warranty repair group in Turkey would have to replace the entire motherboard. I'd have them send you back the computer and send it to a person in the states rather, as it sounds to me that they're attempting to rip you off.

Great VideoExcellent AudioContemporary however not gaudy designGreat bright displayRapidly..Cool, fan noises are a tiny on the high side but I felt the machine as a whole stayed extremely cool below normal gaming use. Keyboard is deffinately loose in the upper left corner. Each corners are looser than the rest of the keyboard but the top rated left will make a tapping sound when utilized. Its pretty annoying and the purpose I took an egg off. I have also had the dvd drive stick opening twice now and it occasionally sticks when closing it, like its catching on the bezel or something. General I am really pleased with this machine and its still a fabulous worth for the price tag. I program to replace the HD's with SSD's in the near future but the stock drives are quite acceptable. I will update much more later if a thing else takes place.

Very ResponsiveQuicklyRuns WoW on high settings at complete resolution with 50+ fpsGorgeous ScreenRuns substantially far better than my desktop Runs cool The leading left side of the keyboard does really feel a bit loose, but it doesnt bother me as soon as I start out typing. Other than the 1 keyboard issue it is a excellent deal for what you get.One particular other evaluation says that the speakers are as loud as a household theatre which is not accurate at all. They are far better than the average laptop speaker, but I wouldn't use them more than my 2.1 logitech speakers.

Admittedly, I have the GT660 which precedes this model and it is probably discontinued so I write here to warn everybody. The new GT680 looks like a monster of a machine. I'm writing this assessment to tell you a lot more about MSI global warranty and I believe it applies to this and other MSI notebooks equally properly. The brief though I was able to use the machine, it performed like a champ. Almost no complaints there. Then... Bear with me even though I explain the situation. I have no knowledge with the MSI service in the US so if you're going to use the machine in the US only, you might have a diverse and pleasant knowledge with their tech service. Global warranty. I got my GT660 in January 2011 from newegg. There are two key brands with Global warranty: MSI and Asus. Each reputable brands. I found MSI GT660 and the price was appropriate. I spend my instances among the US and Turkey so global warranty was a big concern.I got the machine and traveled to Turkey. About 1 month immediately after I got it, the screen went blank. I researched the authorized service center in Turkey, I sent the machine to them. They received it on March 7th. A few days later I called them to ask what the issue was and how lengthy it'd take to fix. They told me the graphics card was gone and they ordered a replacement from MSI in Taiwan. The shocker was that it would take about a month just before they can send it back.I called once more currently, March 25. They told me they are still waiting for the component to be sent by MSI. The part (if they are to be believed) is going to be sent next Monday so that is March 28th. Continued below... So, it took MSI at least two weeks before they arrange for a spare portion to be shipped. I told them that is genuinely outrageous, for MSI HQ to wait so lengthy to send a smaller piece of hardware. They told me that MSI will replace the laptop if they can't fix it in 30 enterprise days. But wait, they also stated they can't do it (even I'd waited 1.5 months) mainly because the machine is a US version. I can, kind of, recognize their rationale as a US version will be complicated to sell in Turkey even if they fixed and refurb'ed the machine. So, you won't get a replacement even if it is covered under warranty in such circumstances. So, I'll be waiting for a few more weeks. If the machine breaks once again, I don't know what I will do. Travel back to US, so I can get it fixed or replaced? So, you're warned if you're going to be depending on the Global warranty for your sweet laptop. As I stated, when it worked, it was hell of a machine and the new GT680 looks a ton greater than what I got. Cons: They keyboard has a few keys in weird places, such as a key next to the left alt keyThe top left of the keyboard is not seated properly, so the keys on the top left feel a little loose when pressed, got used to it easily enough though.

Pros: Great laptop, good for gaming and doing 3d stuff. I'm plating fallout NV, starcraft 2 and crysis 2 at max setttings no problem. It doesn't overheat either so you won't need a cooling tray because of the very big and loud fans you can turn on when gaming. The speakers are phenomenal, better than most I've heard on a laptop.

overall, this is an awesome laptop that I would recommend to anyone.

Cons: Didn't come with an express card slot and dvd burner is not lightcribe or is it even a Blu Ray reader or burner.MSI CPU Speed Boost sftware is buggy and not always working on the hot key on the keyboard.I HATE having to mail in this $150 rebate crap as MOST people out there do as well. This SHOULD be discounted from the order automatically for the customer to avoid the BS that comes with so called 'lost' rbate subissions and a 3 month wait to get our $ back for investing our own hard earned dollars into supporting NCIX and the company product of the rebate.

Pros: 'Cuurently' The fastest laptop out there. Excellent dedicated video card, excellent 9cell battery life, great portability, tons of ram and HD space.Excellent for video & photo editing speed for rendering

I've been waiting for this laptop for months since it was reviewed at CES 2011 in Vegas. The proble with the Sandy Bridge chipset delayed actual shipment until last week.I sold my HP 17.3" I7 Pavillion DV7 laptop to 'upgrade' to this one.HP laptop was great, but HP warranty, website warranty information and ability to literally try and find a Canadian contact number for battery warranty SUCKS!! Will NEVER buy HP again. I thought SOny sucked, HP is worse.Back to MSI GT680Speed is excellent for a laptop computer with a shite load of HD space & speedy 7200 rpm drives and tons of ram.LOVE the 1.5 TB dedicated video card with cuda so I can use it with fast rendering with CS5 Adobe Premiere. (a slight backdoor hack is needed to detect THIS CUDA card)Greta battery life for such a powerhouse laptop.Sound is really good and loud as well.Great to have the USB 3.0 ports (2 total) and 2 usb 2.0 ports, however speed transfer with an actually external usb 3.0 hard drive tower really wasnt great, only 50 MB/s and more often only 5 - 9 mb/s. NOT impressed with the marketing over hype however it did detect the 4hard drives np through usb 3.0 in the external housing tower.Having to mail in the $150 US rebate totally SUCKS and NCIX and these copanies need to stop this foolishness and appreciate their customers since we ARE THE REASON they even exhist and give the discount upfront when we order!!!So now I'm waiting up to 3 months for my money. Those of you sending in the rebate be sure to take a digital photo of all your paperwork and UPC symbol for tracking purposes incase they try the ol switch and try and deny the rebate!!The laptop should also have a Bu Ray reader and burner to be totally complete but instead has a typical dl burner and not even a lightscribe burner.Overall, the laptop does rock!!

The battery life surprised me the most. I was expecting 3 hours at the absolute very best, but I have gotten appropriate at four hours for typing a paper on Word (WiFi was enabled cause i didn't think to turn it off). Handles WoW and StarCraft 2 just fine at 1080p settings. WoW gets 55+fps in battlegrounds with everything set on High, with the exception of shadow quality at excellent instead of high. SC2 was at default settings cause i didn't mess with it too significantly (Everything on Medium) The computers performance capabilities drop to a fifth of what is is even though plugged in if it's running on the battery. It can play games while not plugged in, but don't expect anything too decent. I got about 20fps on WoW at 1080p with all the settings on Low(I really get the exact same fps if they are at their normal settings) The P1 button isn't programmable. All it does is turn Cinema Pro on and off. In the user manual it lists the button as Cinema Pro. From what i gather via multiple forums is that on other models the P1 button is programmable by way of the System Control Manager, but SCM does not have this alternative on this model. I'm Hoping that there is an update in the future to alter this. These are the worst cons I could find with the laptop. That becoming said, neither of them are that huge of a deal. I by no means intended to game w/o becoming plugged in b/c the battery life whilst gaming isn't that excellent and as far as the P1 button goes it just indicates 1 additional click on a program.
