Comment:
I figured I would write a review for this laptop since I was very excited when I noticed it but couldn't find many reviews of this particular model. For the GE-620dx series I found a few reviews, some of them stated that the screen on this monitor was lacking in quality. I don't find that to be the case, mind you this is the first notebook I've purchased in the last 5 years, I find the 1920x1080 monitor on this laptop bursts off the screen with brightness and color in high def movies and in general usage. It is glossy like all laptops these days, but glare is easy to avoid if you don't use it right underneath a light source. Aside from the monitor, it has all the great specs that for this price are hard to believe. I played BF3 with textures on ultra and other settings on medium at smooth frame rate online in servers of 64 players. It also seems to fly through HD video editing and playback. Like any reasonably powerful notebook pc in the 15" size class, it gets hot and fairly noisy while under heavy load but I personally don't find this to be a design flaw. I should note that it comes with a manufacturer 2 year warranty which seems to be above standard for most manufacturers. The keyboard I find to be very comfortable and easy to use and seems like higher quality than several other laptops I've used. I must admit the track pad seems slightly lower end in quality but I will be using a wireless mouse most of the time with it anyways and am happy to sacrifice that component for other high end features. The case looks fairly plain but a closer look reveals a brushed metal frame similar to the aesthetic appeal of ipods. I'm not sure if the case is plastic or metal, but it at least doesn't look cheap and plastic if it is. One more thing to note is that the hard drive is indeed 7200rpm although it isn't listed in the specs on this site. That is one particular feature that is hard to find in a 15" laptop with 8gb of ram, i7 processor, usb 3.0 and a 2gb dedicated graphics card at this price range. I hope this review is useful to anyone who was curious about this product as I was before purchasing. In conclusion, I highly recommend this model to anyone who wants a mid - high end gaming laptop that can tackle video editing in addition to fast normal use that is not too flashy or goofy looking while staying at a reasonable price.
