Nice fan. Properly constructed. Comes with CPU grease so first installation is effortless. Did not have brackets that worked for my MOBO. My MOBO had a stock AMD CPU fan, and the bracket that come with the unit did not perform for me. I tried bending them to make them work and they broke. I took that fan off of "this unit" and bolted it onto the other "stock heat sink" in order to get my Pc operating once more. NewEgg didn't have a fan that looked like it had the same "brackets" as what I necessary so I did a search and discovered one particular on another web-site.I didn't send this back due to the fact I had bent/broke the bracket but in basic NewEgg has been excellent to me. I hated to have to give a rating at all. I just wanted to make a comment. I gave a three star just so it didn't bring down the unit's ratings also significantly.

Not too long ago upgraded my old pc asus mobo 478 slot. was a 1.8 p4 (Oc'd to 1.95) i upgraded to a three. p4, also added one particular of these ball cpu coolers. Added an added 2Gb pc2100 ddr for a small further umpf. super easy installation, in reality it was much more challenging to take off old heat sink than it was to set up this one particular. coupled with a tiny arctic five thermal compound. sweeeet. have had no challenges. computer system screams. (with nothing but XP and WoW installed) even with the upgrades, its still an old outdated computer.... Havent attempted any Overclocking on this one particular but. i can only picture that it would manage a fair amount.

Looks nice, pre-applied thermal adhesive, fits in the space of Intel's stock heatsink/fan combo, so you can use it beneath stock CPU air ducts. The retaining clips had been just a little too quick to latch on an HP, even with heavy pressure. I had to bend them with pliers to lessen the curve of clips' recommendations to get it to latch. It was a real pain to install. For the price, there are far better heatsinks out there.

None... defective. It only operated for about two minutes, then the motor quit. It could be restarted by spinning it manually by hand, but did not have the strength to get going once again from a cease by itself. Thinking it had only expense about บ, I threw the heatsink/fan in the trash. Following the garbage truck came, I realized how considerably I paid for this! Oops! Wish I had returned it...

Cools the processors in a extremely tight case and doesn't get hot at all. Came in all beat up, looked like poop(can't use the word I want to) but I was able to bend a lot of it back to make it function, but I was not satisfied at all. Newegg=poop(can't use the perform I want to) most of the time

utilizing this solution on a "Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU three.00GHz (Prescott)" Match right in place incredibly little work required already had Thermal Compound applied to bottom of heatsink. Ready to go out of the box just take off the plastic cover and bent the claps just a bit as the match was a little to snug could only get one particular clasp on without having bending clasps. beside that turn on Pc and it went from a begin of 50c "Normal Old Fan" to 40c my CPU ran a average of 60-74c Plus! But now it's operating no greater then 50-57 extremely excellent product my case fan in louder then the Fan on this Heatsink N/A as i don't consider bending the clasp to be a con as if every little thing went without having a hitch this solution would be to great to be accurate I also purchased "Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compound - OEM" but at this time i have not applied it as the Thermal Compound that the heatsink came with is doing the job just fine. Also you can blame the laziness to apply this product on the ease of installation lol but at least i have the Arctic Silver if i need to have it

Copper cools greater. Pretty quiet fan and temps are OK I like to use my own thermal grease (arctic silver) so I had to clean off the thermal compound that was currently on the heat sink. I replaced the CPU at the identical time so I can't give a ahead of and soon after temp.

Extremely effortless to install. Strong copper. Worked effectively out of the box. 45 idle to 48C beneath load. Bought in 11ቢ. I often leave my rig on, yet the other morning it was off. Took side cover off restarted and noticed fan altering speeds and stopping. Took off fan, removed the sticker on the back and realized the little plastic plug had disinegrated and the pieces went into the ball bearings. Was capable to use some three-1 oil and dust off to getting it operating. Ordered one more heatsink (from Newegg)...distinct brand. Heat and age most likely disintegrated the plastic plug into little pieces that entered the fan. Feel the manufacturer should test their materials simply because quite a few folks leave their rigs running 24ǝ. Thank goodness my harware monitor shut down the laptop ahead of major harm occurred.

This is an economical fan, but it functions like a dream. Its no louder than my last fan and its running 1000 rpm more quickly. it is keeping my CPU at 40 C. thats great to me. This feel was kinda tough to get in, i broke sweat attempting to get it in, but i got it right after about 5 minutes. Buy it, its worth the money and New egg got it to me in 2 days.

Low-cost, all copper heatsink. Cools quite well. Began out quite quiet, but is way as well loud after about eight months. I am looking for a replacement for the fan, mainly because the heatsink itself is good.

With the stock fan installed, my aging Pentium 4 3.4 GHz Prescott Socket 478's idling temperature was at an particularly higher 68°C렲°F - 70°C렶°F with out Anything running in the background! By nature, the Prescott 478 processors seriously run relatively hot. So don't use the lousy heatsinks that come with the processor since they do not function at all at keeping the processor cool at reasonable levels. I almost certainly removed a number of years from my processor's life by working with that stock fan for over a year now. And its 100% cooper, which is a better heat dissipater than aluminum which was what the stock fan was. My Area is also substantially cooler, due to the fact the hot CPU employed to create so substantially heat! Also arrived AHEAD of time. Newegg rocks! It was incredibly tricky for me to set up. I guess it was due to the fact I had to purchase a custom retaining bracket which was a bit decrease than what I had installed ahead of. To get it to match, I had to bend one of the clips, which practically broke! So its a bit of a discomfort to set up. I had to remove the motherboard out of the case to install it. And its a bit loud, but hey, I choose loud over poor efficiency, lol. I have eight fans running anyway so I'm utilised to the jet sound, lol. I don't feel I can overclock, but hey i have a rare 3.four GHz Socket 478, so Overclocking is not needed, lol. Oh and don't forget to get rid of the pre-applied thermal paste with ANHYDROUS (Non Water) Isopryl Alcohol Wipes and add some Arctic Silver, its a lot superior! For months, I've been plagued with poor frame prices. I've done everything to try to resolve the problem and I finally realized that it was my overheating CPU that was bottlenecking the card. After upgrading the heatsink, the games ran optimally! Couldn't be much more satisfied. Stock Fans will ruin the life of your CPU. If you have a stock fan on your CPU Eliminate IT. Purchase a superior quality heatsink. Stock CPU fans had been meant to be utilized for temporary purposes until a superior heatsink is purchased. Do the appropriate point and extend the life of your CPU. Obtain a high quality heatsink!

Extremely easy intallation....any individual can do it. Strong copper headsink which in my mind is the only acceptable material. Fairly decent finish on the base. Low cost and powerful. Could have used a much better fan. Incredibly thin and fairly loud. It moves a very good quantity of air, but could be much better. A bit of a hassel to clean due to the outer housing, but practically nothing intense Overall this is a good little cooler. I applied it to replace the stock fan with my intel celeron D two.9ghz. It keeps it about 45-50 degrees, but can get fairly hot under gaming load, around 55-60. 1 factor I would hugely reccomend to anyone obtaining this solution, get much better thermal paste. Also, if you want superior performance out of this thing, verify out the "heatsink lapping" guide at overclockersclub.com, it helped to bring down my temps by 5 degrees. You ought to make certain you clean out the dust in this cooler each and every couple of months, it can actually raise your temps if you dont. So once again, if you are seeking for a low cost small cooler for a 478, this is the 1 you want, hands down.

Has Thermal grease currently installed which makes it a lot less difficult to set up. Is quiet and has a great fan speed. Installation was particularly quick significantly less than 5 minutes to replace old cpu and fan and didn't had any issues with the clips. none at this time Is a tiny bit heavy which for me its a good issue if you examine it to a stock intel fan, for that signifies you are acquiring a very good top quality product. Has a clean look, quite skilled.

Keeps my cpu 23 idle and 42 under complete load, does nice job. Loud as hell Mounting brackets don't put as much stress on chip as I'd like, but it doesn't seem to influence efficiency.
