- somewhat simple set up-effortless to set up cores-got to over clock to three.4ghz with no fantastic alter in temperature -stock fan is Really annoying and loud, I recommended if your obtaining this acquire a fan to replace it, it will get really annoying. buy another fan for the CPU unless you want to hear a moderately loud fan at greater speeds. if its at low speed its tolerable, otherwise it only took me a week before I got tired of the sound.

Less expensive than Intel equivalent. I study all the testimonials about the loud fan. So I just installed a Zalman cpu cooler on it as an alternative of the stock hsf. Not truly a con for me because I was going to do it anyways. I've been alternating involving Intel and AMD chips for my private Computer. Last create was an Intel, so it was time to use AMD this time about. I was not disappointed. Very happy with this CPU, and it runs very cool with the Zalman cooler, even beneath benchmarking and tension testing.

Cons:very hot, you absolutely need anaftermarket cooler, like all the others reviewa say.

Pros:Good update  for an old am2 platform. Super overclocker!
Comment:
Just brilliant, Revives my old amd2 platform for another 2 years. Imust be really lucky, but instantly overclocked to 4.0ghz, with just a modest increase in voltage. I an old aftermarket cooler, roswell which was running with the old pc. Mistake, underload, the temps would rise past 65. so I spent the extra dollars and bought a huge noctua heatsink with a 140mm fan. The beast is now running at 4.0ghz, rock solid 24 hours prime95.systemasus m3a78amd phenom 955y 4.0ghz.ocz ddr2 800 platinum rev.2 y 975mhzsapphire 4890 vapourx core at 925mhz and ddr5 at 1100 mhzwindows 7 64 bit

This cpu puts my old two core in the dust bin ! It's not as quickly as several of the newer ones but, it still rocks D.A.II, Oblivion 5 et al... Wish I had waited for the AMD/Intel chips to debut but, I actually necessary a tiny increase for my computer.

I purchased this mainly because this was the final line of quad core presented for my K9A2 Platinum board. It performs effectively and runs about 50 Deg Celcius below load. (Load getting Planet of Warcraft) My windows 7 widget shows all four cores are operating and in right order. Newegg service and UPS shipping had been exceptional. The cooler on this is noisy. I am utilizing the stock cooler and it is not overclocked.the Man seems to have made a smaller sized (mm) fan that turns higher rpm's to hold it cool. I truly preferred a bit bigger size fan that turned significantly less rpm's to do the same cooling. I just upgraded from a dual core 5000 black edition and have not noticed any substantial difference but. That could transform if I do video rendering or someting apart from playing a six year old game. Yes this will work on a MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard. If you are going to acquire this for that intent, BE Positive to update your bios to the most up-to-date version initial. If you have a RAID setup, back anything up initially as there has been reports of a cpu transform screwing up the raid.

Strong, like a rock. This processor has been going by means of games on max settings, and CAD and Windows, and Linux, and virtuilization, and anything else, and it has however to have a hiccup (unless I push it to high, duh). And this price, wow! 7.4 on WEI, and only at being on all day below an overclock, and playing games with the stock cooler. If you're still reading this, then you're wasting your time, go back up there and click the "add to cart" button! Doesn't make me bacon. OC'd to three.72 with stock cooler and voltage, runs like a champ

This small cpu is a beast! At first it was only operating at 800mhz but that was due to the fact I necessary to flash my bios and had to turn off cool n' quiet, but then the correct power of this processor was unleashed! It can run quite significantly anything I throw at it. I can play any game I want; Crysis, Crysis two and any other future titles for years to come! This cpu is a should obtain for individuals that don't want to commit too significantly money on constructing a new rig or just upgrading their computer. Didn't come at ten ghz haha just kidding nope there are no cons what so ever.

I Enjoy this processor! I plugged it in, slapped the stock heat sync on it and blam! It gets a 7.three on the windows rating point which is a lot better then my old cpu. Because it was running at 29C, i thought it would be a very good notion to overclock, now it runs at three.9GHz. None. four Cores at three.9 GHz on stock cooling. I am freaking delighted.

- Ease of overclocking- Reasonably priced and fair price tag- Very best efficiency / value ratio of any CPU- Much better than my Athlon x2- Run at 31C whilst idle overclocked (with Hyper 212 +) - None I overclocked this infant to 3.8ghz easy with my Asus motherboard. Perfect stability with cool temperatures. I advise an Asus motherboard with "CPU level up" feature for beginner overclockers as it is the greatest choice.Save yourself 40+ bucks by purchasing this and overclocking it.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Can run hot at times. must use aftermarket heat sink.

Pros:Fast for what i need it for. Using it for a HTPC setup.
Comment:
This is my first HTPC build. I found that with a tighter case the temps can get high (60 plus degrees). So the need for a aftermarket heat sink is a must. Other than that no issues, great performer does its job well.

L3 Cache, Four cores, Black Edition so unlocked multipliers. I very easily over-clocked to 3.68 GHz on air and it stays at 50C with my Hyper 212+. This plows proper through anything I throw at it and just barely bottle necks an HD 6870. But for the value your Definitely obtaining your moneys worth. None, worked correct out of the box. I can't comment on the stock cooler given that I in no way employed it. I utilised a Hyper 212+ from Cooler Master and it kept it even although more than clocked at 50C under load(Mind you my Single Core Sempron 3400+ @ 1.eight GHz idled at 54C. It's a fantastic CPU for the income and will run ALL of the current games with out challenge. I advocate the CPU to any casual or light gamers because it will blow by way of Black Ops, Poor Firm 2, on higher res and maxed out graphics. Just make sure your GPU is great too or else the power won't make a distinction. But if your critical about higher FPS and want to take total advantage of say a 6870, you'd have to go with a six core. These CPU's are actually bottlenecking the GPUs in the 6XXX series.

I bought this for my gf PC and I must say for an older chip it holds its own pretty well! Runs relatively cool and nice to have the unlocked multi. Games well with a cheap gtx 470 I picked up. Definitely can't complain, if your on a budget I would highly recommend this!

Cons:loud stock fanused lot power at full loadprice dropped $10 on me 2 days after I ordered ncix wouldn't refund $10

Pros:fast enough for just about anythinggood priceunlocked easy overclocking
Comment:
Good bang for your buck fast enough for almost anything. This chip is Unlocked most will overclock to 3.8 1.4v to 4.2GHz 1.5v depending on cooling and the voltage your willing to pump in to the chip and your mother boards voltage regulators as this chip already needs 125w and overclocking will push the CPU to even higher wattage possibly over heating and overloading the mother boards voltage regulators so be careful. Some chips just don't overclock well at all and some do and it all depends if your lucky sometimes.my friends hit 4.2 no problem at 1.5v mine needs 1.525v at 4ghz and hits the wall will not go anyhigherI run stock voltage at 3.6ghz with cool n quiet on not worth all the extra heat fan noise and hydro use for only 400mhz higher OC plus it's super fast anyway maybe in few years Ill go for little higher OC but for now its fast enough for me.I was disapointed the price dropped by $10 2 days after I order ncix refused to refund the $10I was disappointed in ncix but the price was still good I was like ahhhhh man! should have waited 2 days oh well. This chip was a bargain still best price I could fined I would buy it again If needed

stock cooler wasnt as bad as i thought, it looked really nice with copper pipes and every little thing (but nevertheless absolutely nothing beats following market cooler). with stock cooler, 30c idle, and 40-50c under load (caps at 50C whilst running prime 95). straightforward to overclock by the multiplier. none comes with a good sticker.
