Super CPU
Comment:
I just built my first PC in about 6-7 years. I replaced my aging Athlon XP 2400 with this CPU and it is amazing. I've not yet overclocked it but so far I don't feel the need to do that. It runs great. It runs cool with the stock cooler on it, too. It idles around 34C in my ThermalTake Element G case. I'm sure this CPU will last quite a long time as did my previous AMD CPU. Add in the headroom for overclocking and I can tell you that I definitely got bang for my buck.

Awesome CPU, especially for the money. By the time you stack this with an AM3 motherboard, memory etc you'll really see the cost savings. Great service from here as well. I couldn't believe how fast this thing shipped!

Better then intel i7 half the price
Comment:
I have always been a true Intel fan, but Because of the Price difference I Gave AMD a try, and this CPU has been better then I ever expected. It is as good if not better in performance then the Intel i7 at half the cost. I am now a AMD fan. This CPU Teamed up with The Asus Crosshair III and ocz AMD Black edition Ram is a killer.

I am a blue collar guy looking for high performance but I have to pay rent. I wanted to run all my games and apps at top settings 100%-200%. I used this in my rig, spent about $2k total and I am doing it! Sto at 50-60 fps max shadows and everything. Stock fan is loud but very efficient. Mine is oc'd to 3.815 with the stock fan but high grade thermal grease added and it runs 52-53c max with full load. Great product!

Fantastic Price-Performance
Comment:
Married this chip to a Gigabyte MoBo with the 790 chipset ,integrated graphics, and 8GB of DDR3 1600. This combo has lots of OC headroom. I added two 120mm fans to my case so overheating has not been a problem. I built the system for audio video editing. It's perfect for for my media libraries with 2 one TB drives. I don't think you can beat this price performance, especially with the current prices.

I used this cpu along with 8GB ram and a Biostar TA790GXE Motherboard. It was built for a professional recording studio environment and does the job perfectly with Windows XP Pro x64 installed.

Phenomenal Chip
Comment:
Great chip. Haven't had a single problem yet. Was easily able to OC it to 3.84GHz with stock cooling. Could probably push it to 4.0GHz if I had a better HSF. Incredible buy and well worth the 100 plus dollar savings over the slightly better i7 series.

ive always only had a pentium 4 and i figured it was time to up grade and see what everyone was talking about this amd so i built my own computer with this processor and i dont think i couldnt have bought a better one of course it smokes my little pentium lol... im very happy with my choice and the price was unbeatable. my only regreat is i wish they would have sold the 140 watt amd i would of really liked to try it out instead just to see if there is really a difference. i couldnt imagine a better one though after using this one lol.. realy great i would recamend it to anyone and will be buying another in time..

REALLY AWESOME! Thanks AMD!
Comment:
This a really super chip for the price. My brother is so disappointed with the I7 920, especially with its gaming performance. I was able to compare my AMD with his I7 and AMD is really head and shoulders above it at high resolution. The only time I7 (VERY SLIGHTLY) beats AMD is with a few computing applications that are not used a lot by gamers anyway. I am sick and tired of Intel that is always changing sockets or chipsets making people believe it is an evolution - actually it is only an evolution for Intel's cash drawer... I have used both Intel and AMD over the years but sincerely AMD is closer to consumers' needs.

Good CPU but ran too hot
Comment:
I decided to replace the fan with Corsair H50, and now I idle at 31 degrees and go up to 56 degrees when I play a game, which is still kind of warm (the limit is supposed to be 62) but at least it's quiet. Can max out every game except Crysis (almost maxes out Crysis) with a Radeon 5850 and 8 gigs DDR3 1600 ram.

its nice
Comment:
It has room to be oc. Its up to you to try that. I have heard if you do try that and get things up and going right. You can hold a stable 3.8 setup. If you have a cold setup room then you can reach a 4.0 setup. All and all its a good product.

This CPU is worth the the time. Runs grate with flying speed with ASUS Crosshair III Formula Motherboard and over clocked it to 3.8ghz air cooled running Windows 7. Only thing is if you are installing W7 with the ASUS Crosshair III Formula Motherboard you have to go to there webpage to DL the drivers.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:-Loud Stock Cooling

Pros:-Very Powerful-Cost Effective-AM3 Socket Upgradable in the future.
Comment:
The Phenom 965 BE is a very powerful beast. You really can't go wrong with this baby. It's perfect for gaming, and can rip through anything you through at it.If you choice is between this and the i5, go with the 965 BE. The AM3 socket will get 6 core upgrades soon, so you'll always have an upgrade path in the future. Gaming performance is also generally MUCH better with this chip than the i5.

Do not buy for Windows 7!
Comment:
Bought this CPU with the ASUS M4A78T-E motherboard. Tried for a week to install Windows 7 Home 74-bit. Kept crashing. After fighting with it for a week, I found others on the internet having the exact same problem. Switched to the ASUS P7P55D Pro board and the Intel core I5 750 chip and have had no problems. I am a loyal AMD fan, but in this case Intel wins.
