APEVIA X-ALIEN MX-ALIEN-BK/500 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Good value point given that it contains a 550W PSU. This is my very first replacement case in ten years. I am incredibly pleased with the quality of the case, no sharp edges, thumbscrews. Lots of area. Every three 1ǘ" bay has its personal rail mount for relatively effortless installation. 5 1ǚ uses rails as well, they are hidden behind the drive bay panels. None actually.....Could be less expensive? Manual is a one web page sheet. If this is your very first make this can be an obstacle. If you've accomplished this just before, who demands it? Except to come across the 5 1ǚ" rails. That one particular took me by pleasant surprise.

This case is create hard with tons of expansion selections. My favorite feature of this case is that the difficult drives are so straightforward to take away. If you notice from the photos the difficult drive don't slide out towards the rear case fan and ports. The tough drives slide out towards you. This way you don't have worry about hitting your GPU or removing something else, just to take away your really hard drive. The incorporated PSU is pice of junk. Don't even bother with it, commit the cash and get a name brand, such as Thermaltake or Corsair. Also look into finding modular PSU to boost the airflow. I seriously want Apevia would provide this case devoid of a PSU.

No expense was spared and no detail was overlooked on this case. The paint and finish are quite high top quality. I nevertheless haven't managed to scratch it even after numerous moves and trips in my messy car trunk! The aluminum construction is incredibly rigid. Elsewhere the plastic components are strong and non-intrusive.There are no 80mm fan mounting points, only 120mm. This is a major purpose I bought this case; bigger fans output a softer, typically quieter sound. Excellent for my bedroom. The sliding snap-in drive rails make for painfully simple removal of drives. The motherboard tray slides out effortlessly also! The incorporated 500W power provide has managed to last over a year and a half. It powers: Core two Duo E6550, Intel DP35DP (P35) board, eVGA GTX 260 ƒx 6-pin cable expected), ASUS Xonar DX ྫྷv rail essential), Hauppage WinTV Tuner, D-Hyperlink Wireless N, 6 HDD's, 1 SSD, a Flash Media Bay and a slew of USB devices. The side door latch and locks (front) are just icing on the cake. I generally try to make a fair, unbiased overview. Nevertheless I'm at a loss for any cons on this solution. The price tag seems quite fair. I can't say enough about the good quality of this case. It's great for every day use and quiet operation.

Large tower, with lots of space. Removable motherboard plate is a good touch. 120mm fans are good for my wants. Powers provide works and great adequate to make confident everything else runs whilst I'm saving for a better PSU. I'm curious to know if it will power a 8800 GTS. The front bezel is a small wierd searching, but at least to case isn't neon green with a bunch of strobe lights. It's created of steel and looks imply. Just about too major. I don't think I'll use all of the drive bays, but it's generally good to have the choice. The only noticeable difficulty I had was that some of the motherboard cables wont' attain to the quite prime drives, but I have no require to use those at the moment. This was the first case I have ever bought. If you have area and are searching to temporarily reduce corners of a PSU, I would advocate it.

It's massive! Ya ya ya. It's not tiny! no no no.I'm seriously pleased with this case. It has a small footprint for its size, and tons of interior space. Easy HDD rack that utilizes the person slide-in drive trays, the complete height bay rails make use of screws which I like. Rather than fumbling with screwless rails. The rails conveniently stow on the back of unused external bay covers. Keeps things tidy and you don't have to worry about maintaining track of random case hardware. Otherwise, screwless drive installation. This unit does have sata powerr connectors, but no eight-pin. Get a Ū.00 4-pin to 8-pin adapter although ordering. Power provide has been strong and dependable so far. It appears sharp, no dumb windows flooding your space/office with blue light. Steel contruction aids in minimizing fan noise, with the 2 offered fans it is fairly quiet. The side access is removable not hinged which I also choose. Front access door its heavy duty but requires really tiny force to open and close. I would acquire it again Fold out feet are plastic but haven't brought on a difficulty, and don't require to be deployed anyways. Its a huge black beast cold rocking 12 drive bays.

five five 1ǚ inch bays, 5 internal 3.5" bays. 3.five" internal bays are sideways mounted and on individual slide in/out trays. 3.5" trays accept each sizes of newer/older style 3.five" difficult drives. Took me a minute to figure out that I had to mount my two new SATA Seagate drives from the bottom, but sooner or later figured it out. Also two external 3.five" bays that are entirely seperate from the internals, so 7 3.five" bays total. Removable motherboard tray is a nice feature throughout initial create. Both side panels are removable as effectively which I really feel is yet another nice feature. Accepts 2 80mm fans from a removeable panel in front, good touch throughout routine maitnence. The PSU integrated was powerfull sufficient to swap out on my parents ULTRA pentium D box, and saved me from possessing to get a new PSU for thier box. Given that I place a new Pc energy and cooling PSU in my new rig. Had to remove front panel fully due to the fact they mount the 5 1ǚ" mounting brackets behind panel covers, they fell of during shipping, and had been rattleing around inside amongst front panel, and actualy chassis. the way the wires are routed for the front USB/Firewire conflict with the installation of 3.five" internals, totally removed front panel and removed the front plugins, considering replaceing them in the future if I can figure a more logical way to route them. Also, 5 1ǚ" mounting brackets only thick adequate to accept 1 screw from a vertical stand point, worked nicely on my DVD Burner, 2 Tough drive trays, and front panel from my Sound Blaster Fatal1ty front panel, But for my Scyther Kaze master ACE fan controller, it lacked luster. The bracket for mounting worked nicely adequate on longer devices that could accept 2 screws horizontally, but my fan controller could only accept 1 screw horizontally on either side, It was originally designed to take 2 screws vertically. All in all, good case for the cost. I think possibly they should supply a version of this case with no PSU since most newer setups with only base needs will be starveing for energy, not to mention if you strategy on filling all five 5 1ǚ" bays and all five internal 3.5" bays like I am carrying out. Incorporated instruction manul could leave less to the imagination considering that it is only a piece of paper folded up with a series of images on it, at least it was in english tho. The five 1ǚ" mounting brackets could be thicker to accept two screws vertically since it would not effectively accomidate my fan controller, and it can move slightly up and down if you apply proper stress. The mounting brackets were why I gave it fourǛ eggs, other than that, I would of offered it five.

this case is effectively created and has a lot of room inside.the powersuply is not undesirable for a freebee incorporated in the price tag of the case.1 pci-e plug two sata power plugs and a 20Ʋ main energy plug and all the rest of the typical connectorsit also has 2 12volt rails a single 16 and one particular 18 amp its affordable but it operates. it tock me a handful of min to come across the drive rails they are stuck to the back of the slot cover "I'm used to them being in a components bag not having to hunt for them" and the really hard drive racks have been kind of hard to remove "that may possibly be a great factor to hold vibrations down with them fitting so tight".I was not overly impressed with the 2 front 80mm fan locations if it had 1 a lot more 120mm fan positioned in the front replacign the 2 80's it would be a best case for my requirements. if your a case moder this one is pop riveted together so your going to have to drill some rivets out to dismantle it down to the bones.the side covers are really heavy gauge so it will take some time cutting them for windows. about 1mm thick steel.

Comment:
Inexpensive full tower solution. Quite sturdy construct good quality. Tool-less removable motherboard tray and drive rails. Locking side door and front panel. Comes with a low-end 500w power supply. A lot of open holes and locations to zip-tie your loose wiring or tuck it away. Instruction manual that comes with it only consists of some pictures. I looked and looked for the optical drive rails simply because they weren't mounted into the drive cage. The rails for the optical drives are essentially attached to the inside of the faceplate for every drive bay. Would have like to see this case even less expensive but forgo inclusion of the affordable-o energy provide. Its not a terrible power provide if you are creating an inexpensive everyday-use computer system, but for a gaming rig its absolutely inadequate. In my circumstance I purchased this case plus a Corsair 750w PSU.I enjoy how sturdy this case is! Assembly was quite uncomplicated too. Once I figured out the drive rails, everything else just fell into spot. Getting a removable mobo tray is a good point; tool-significantly less is even much better!I purchased this case right after a co-worker build a couple of workstations utilizing it. I was impressed at the build quality and the clean black aesthetic.

One particular factor not pointed out in the description, the PSU also has 2 SATA energy plugs and a single PCIE. This was a good surprise considering that I didnt have to use adapters to get every thing to perform. None. Normally, you get what you spend for. But this time, I got a sturdy case with a excellent PSU for a fantastic price tag. As usually, Newegg was on top of the shipping. Ordered on Saturday, had it on Tuesday. Not undesirable at all!

Absolutely a very good case. Two 120mm fans, and a locking mechanism on the side panel and the front panel. The power provide was shipped broken. Thankfully, Newegg in its eternal greatness provided to ship me a new energy supply of my choice as extended as it was under ษ, so I ended up acquiring a better deal than I believed I was receiving.

Comment:
Case is effectively built and has lots of area for expansion. PSU is sufficient for most users - will require upgrade for hardcore gamers Depending on Mobo, cables from the front may possibly not be extended sufficient which can create a difficulty with adding a fifth drive in the reduced bays. I have purchased two of these situations. (from Newegg) A single arrived in best situation. Second had no indicators of harm to the packaging, but had obviously been dropped prior to packing. Rear corner was bent and 1 of the 'pins' on the front cover was broken. I was in a hurry so patched it and employed it anyway. I would like to see one particular (or each) of the external 3.5s go away and a sixth bay beneath. With the subsequent generation, no longer need to have the floppy. 2003 will install from a USB floppy and Vista will install from a flash drive if further drivers are required

Very good case and power supply. The fans that came with the case keeps the insides nice and cool. Good space for expanding and the rapid connects for the the HDD and DvD/CD ROMS are wonderful. The mount for the motherboard was a wonderful touch as well!! The cables operating from the front of the case, the 1394, USB, Power, Reset, Front Speaker, Front Audio and the LEDs caught fire and burned most of the cables. It seems the fire started when the Speaker wire fro the front case speaker melted and sparked the bare wire into the other cables. Absolutely nothing else was damaged but the case wires. Apevia was really fast at responding. I named them with the number listed on the solution web page here on Newegg. It was a long distance quantity, but that wasn't a big deal. They are sending out replacement wires and the board for the front of the case to replace the ones damaged. I will post once more how that goes. Not positive why the speaker cable got too hot in the very first place.

Higher quality construction. Roomy! Great ergonomics. Power provide has been functioning nicely for about 4 months now. Did I say roomy? I generally don't like doors more than the optical drives, but I'm obtaining used to it. I've been creating Computer's for myself and other people because late 80's. I've owned Antec, Lian Li, Enlight and other folks. This a single is the nicest. Also I'm operating a two.6gHz Core2 Duo @ 3.40 with four SATA HD's and an 8800GT. I had been utilizing the similar case for a even though now Ɩ years) and decided it was time to upgrade. This is anAwesome case! If you set it up just appropriate you can hide practically each and every cable by putting the HDDs in backwards. Really rigid style in comparison to my old mid tower, and SO significantly far more area to fiddle with. Uh, is that side fan molded in? I didn't take a incredibly great look at it, i'll discover out in the subsequent few days when I replace the fan. If so, that' sjust silly. I want these old 1mm spacers you utilized to get with a motherboard. You know, the ones you have to attempt to fit among the hold downs and motherboard? I miss cursing my brain out at those points. Manufacturer Response:Nope! Side fan is not molded in. It is held in place with quickly removable grommets. Simply use a screwdriver to push the grommets out. This will permit the fan to be removed.External Link(s): Fan removal|

Space FOR CABLE MASS: hey, I like cables as significantly as the subsequent yahoo, but when you've got five pounds of unused/ugly cables to hide- you won't uncover a case that far more effectively hides these cables than this one particular. QUIET: most situations (aluminum) take a 15db fan and turn it into 30 db of noise once it's installed. Not this case. This case is produced of (I'll contact it) noise-dampening rolled-edge steel. You won't find a quieter case. INTUITIVE: USB/audio ports are on the front *below* the drives, not on top or on side exactly where either USB cables get in the way (of optical drive) or you can't conveniently attain them. No cookie crumbs, orange Crush, dust, and puppy treats falling into the USB ports 24ǝ. Straightforward HDD ACCESS: the only issue worse than a papercut on the eyeball is trying to take away/add a HDD that is blocked by a video card, sound card, and so on. Those days are *gone* w/ this case. Did I hear a person complain about the door/keylock? Can you say "kids"? Can you say "wife"? :) Apevia's been creating this case for two years and what does Absolutely everyone complain about? The energy supply. Is Apevia trying to tell me the Chinese can shove this piece of garbage psu into this case for less dollars than a couple great fans and silicon mounts? Or possibly they're trying to say these power supplies are so worthless, they add only a nominal dollar amount to the expense of the case and wouldn't even justify lowering the retail value of the case if it wasn't incorporated?? Honestly, it's dispicable that Apevia is still putting a power provide in this case. It's wasteful and it's embarassing. Break the mold, Apevia. Stick silicon case fan mounts and a couple quiet fans in the package as an alternative a lame psu *that you know*, that you *know* 75% of us aren't going to use. Reality ş is I've tried every single style case NewEgg presents. Lian-Li's "different" finishes and over-priced tags don't impress me mainly because basic functionality is thrown by the wayside. Fact Š is companies are *clearly* not focused on producing the "best" case, they're focused on creating the most "disposable" case. Appears fantastic on the screenshots & evaluations hold guarantee. Then you get the case property, are disappointed & you realized evaluations had been all done by newbies. For instance, did I see a case that appears like a bulldozer from the front? You've got to be kidding me. "Proof" that producers don't care that considerably- I did a review on this case more than a year ago. It was a excellent assessment. Apevia liked it so considerably, they chimed in and mentioned they'd mention to the greater-ups everybody's persistent suggestion of throwing in a couple nice case fans and silicon mounts alternatively of that lame energy supply. Guess how far that suggestion got.
