APEX MJ-16 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Fantastic cost for a small case with a PSU. It will take full size add-on cards which saved me purchasing a new video and wireless card. Feels a tiny flimsy when taken apart but sturdy adequate when assembled. However you get what you spend for. The PSU didn't even make it via a windows set up. I have a Micro-ATX mobo with a Core 2 Duo and an HD4350 card in it, one HDD and a DVD drive. I temporarily connected a different 250W PSU which has been operating fine ever considering that. Rather of paying to ship the complete case and PSU back and then becoming without a case for who knows how long I decided to just get a top quality PSU. Of course the selections are limited for an SFX12V, but I got a Seasonic and I'm sure it'll final a long time. I wouldn't acquire this again unless perhaps it was for an Atom or low powered AMD system with integrated graphics.

Perfect mixture of smallish size and but can hold two five 1ǚ" drives and 3 3.5 HDD (or two with floppy or card reader). Operates with both mini-ITX and mini-ATX formats. I'm utilizing a mini-ITX board and there is lots of space to work in it for a small case. A bit flimsy when you take all the covers off and start cramming all your hardware in there, but that is to be expected on a case with included power provide for ฺ. 1 fan included on the back is loud - fortunately I had a fan speed contoller that I wired up to support quiet it down. I mounted a 92mm fan on the front of the case among the metal frame and plastic front cover for a lot more airflow and it fits excellent. This is a wonderful compact case for my Windows Household Server.Other info: ZOTAC GeForce 8200-ITX Wi-Fi MB, 2 GB Mushkin DDR2-800 RAM, AMD Athlon II X2 250 AM3, two 400GB Seagate drives internal and 8TB External storage attached by way of Rosewill eight-bay esata drive enclosure.

SPACE SAVER! I dont know if anybody else that buys this case has gaming in thoughts,i didnt when i was building it, but its capability to deal with a gaming system has blown my mind... This case and power supply is able to power my E7200 Oc to 3.1ghz , two case fans , 2 gig ddr800, and my 8800GS XXX alpha dog vid card... The clips are kinda inexpensive but there are screws as well so its ok with me... Also the powersupply is SFX and kinda tough to locate if u require additional power but i think the power is fine... definately recommend to anyone...

This case is only 13" in height, 250W power supply and 60mm rear fan included, takes mini-itx and micro-atx board and nevertheless look smaller and compact. External 5.25" bay cover is not removable (top or left side), rear fan is a little noisy when in full load, the case is sturdy but the front cover has a affordable feel to it. Maybe I'm just applied to the high end cases. I pop off the front cover and placed an 80mm fan in the front-bottom vent for air intake. Mount the fan on the "outside" of the metal frame, then location the cover more than it. You might have to cut a slot into the frame in order to align the holes.

This is exactly what I necessary for the small file server I'm constructing. It arrived in ideal shape. The power provide fan is so quiet that you can't even hear it. There are only two power connectors for sata drives, so I'm going to have to get a cable conversion from the 4 pin standard to sata power. The fan is loud; but I put one of those resisters that lowers the fan speed down on the finish of the fan power connector. Now I can hardly hear it. I also moved it from the back to the side exactly where it could blow straight onto my ITX AT3IONT board.

Tiny mATX case with enough space to cram in four internal 3.five" drives. Power supply fan is quiet. Nicely built for a affordable case. Loud 60mm case fan. 100 ohm 1w resister quieted it down, and moves more than adequate air for my Via C7.

Low cost, holds everything I needed it to. Very good internal drive storage for future expansion. Only two small platic tabs hold the DVD drive bay door on. 1 was already broken when received. Side Note: I utilised this with a Zotac Atom/Ion MB that includes a 90W power supply. You will will need an extension for the SATA energy connectors to reach the challenging drives.

Picked this case up from a neighborhood retailer to save on shipping, had to come here to review it. Case was the best size for my daughter's desk, really solid steel construction. Modest and compact, all connectors are easily identifiable so no will need for instructions.Other reviewers stated the front panel cd/usb/floppy door material is too thin, but I'd disagree. They're a common plastic thickness and will final, taking into consideration you don't rough-house your personal computer. No problems with the eject button reaching my dvd drive button; lined up perfectly. The speaker isn't mounted in the case; its a small speaker with about three inches of wire to the connector (basically hangs off of the mobo.)Tough drive brackets don't supply a solid mount (there is slight play), wouldn't advocate employing brackets if you move your computer about (gaming, and so on.) Plastic connectors can be removed and there are screw holes for a standard mount, so thats a plus. Outstanding bang for the buck, I'd definately suggest.

Excellent use of space--has a smaller footprint but can comfortably fit at least 2 difficult drives, an optical, floppy, and a mini-ATX or smaller motherboard. The power supply fan is surprisingly quiet. High bang for the buck. Middle-of-the-road really feel...not frail per se, but not exactly solid either. Also, the included case fan is way too loud for the cooling power. Still, this is an acceptable trade-off for the superb value. I acquired this and a handful of others for generating mini-ITX builds, and so far this is the winner. For the income, you get a decently nicely built case with a lot of space balanced by low size, and the included power provide works well for an ITX system (tested with a Via VB7001 and an Intel D201GLY2). I removed their case fan and put in a silent 80mm, and it's given that hummed along quietly and conveniently.

its a nice affordable tower.its excellent for a initially time create. I liked it other then the fact that the power supply on this tower was more than heating and kept restartingand all i had was 2.8Ghz duel core CPU and 4gigs of ram runing on Windows7 64x.nothing really desiring so significantly power.but other then that it is a good very first time create as lengthy as you buy a better power supply.

Fairly sturdy, but not centurion sturdy. Clever style. Light for carrying. Very good for cheapo HTPC. Will fit in a (now discontinued) Powercolor 2400 Pro PCI graphics card, given fit with your motherboard. Power supply is incredibly quiet. Apex Energy supply not 80+--comparatively low efficiency, lacks rear energy switch. Power supply on the bottom--inconvenient for a energy supply with a switch. 60mm OEM fan was OK, but, Van___ Stealth aftermarket fan is substantially a lot more silent. . I now use this, with the By way of ITX board, for a linux program in my workplace. So, the 2400 Radeon card now is in storage. I did acquire the Sea___ 350W SFW 80+ energy supply for saving on electric--it at present has been installed due to the fact 2008. The Apex OEM energy supply turned out to be a lot far more silent, on the other hand--I was surprised by this--nonetheless own the Apex PS.

Fit and finish excellent--excellent metal. Solid, top quality really feel. Light, not bulky--fairly uncomplicated to carry (say, for a girl or woman). Wonderful economical choice for a really rudimentary program for the non-gamer--tech-challenged--usually-newbie. Included power supply virtually silent (can't hear from a few feet away). As mentioned, full-height cards could be applied; full-sized optical drives, also. Does have HD activity and power-on leds. Possibly could use in automobiles. Fan noise was noticeable, yet truly not that bad. Energy supply not extremely efficient, and doesn't have the on-off switch that I believe top quality power supplies should. Power supply form-factor truly is SFX (check Apex's item page from here), not mATX or ATX. Smaller inside--possibly longer vid card could "hit" DVD/cd-drive, even to the point of getting unable to install. Of course, overly limited # of bays and functions! I believe it would be fantastic if Apex would create an ATX "big brother" of this, or, greater yet, a complete line of similar items (maybe such as mid- and full-towers) very much the same, incorporating the identical high quality, yet bigger with the expected helpful, desired attributes. I use a power strip to cut power to the Apex PS. Employing a small Via ITX/matx Mainboard with the AMD "geode" proc, onboard "unichrome" vid, two pci-slots. (Now, I'm using a PCI BFG 6200 and a Zonet 2gb nic in those slots)--the PS handles this adequately in Kubuntu. As for the fan, replacing it and installing V@ntec's terrific 60mm Ste@lth eliminates noise to undetectable levels a few feet away. I'm going to try to use a S__sonic 80-plus SFX PS remedy (probably 300W) with this--I'll save funds over time and those PSes have energy switches. Also, I'll attempt a PCI Radeon 2400 video card. I'll relate back no matter whether they fit....

Looks like it will be precisely what I want, if I get one that isn't dented so badly that the side panels can\'t be removed. Received with two big dents on the bottom of the case. Initially I thought since it's not for a client, I'd keep it because the dents are on the bottom. But the dents are so bad that the panels can not be removed. My very first large (迀) order with New Egg. From what I've read, New Egg's RMA policy says that carrier harm won't be covered under an RMA. Regrettably their "immediate help customer service" is closed. Needless to say, any future purchase will depend on their replacing this case instantly. I hope to have a happy ending to submit soon.
