Beware of the onboard audio!!
Cons: The only problem I have had with this MOBO is the onboard audio by VIA. It pops and cuts in and out when I'm playing games or watching movies. I have tried upgrading and installing different drivers to correct the problem, but it persists. I have all but given up and am about to buy a standalone sound card because of it.
Pros: Easy to install. Everything fit ok. Seems to run fine. Comment:
I'd like some tech help if possible. I heard VIA does not offer support for this board anymore, which is vastly disappointing. |

beware muskin memory users
Cons: Difficulty with muskin memory. Running AMD Phenom 545, Segate 1 TB hdd, LG blue ray bruner, lite on dvd burner, ATi Radeon 4800, Netgear wireless card.
Pros: Good features, reasonable price Comment:
Bought Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB Model (996657), would randomly crash until I changed timing to 7-7-7-20 and increased the voltage to 1.8 v for the memory. Since then (fingers crossed) no further problems. Would recommend purchasing from the qualified vendor's list of memory providers. |

Nothing But Problems
Cons: Asus tech support would not help me at all and they told me i would have to take it up with microsoft. my first problem occured after the build it did not want to start up, then i finally had gotten it going and i got everything all loaded up and then about a week later i had the whole clock timing issue come to me. this motherboard has been nothing but problems.
Pros: The features of the motherboard, speed Comment:
I wish i would have read the forums on the asus web site about all their customers reporting bad about the issues with this motherboard. there are alot of known issues. also maybe if asus would have stood behind their product better they wouldn't have lost a good customer. |

will buy again
Cons: rear connections for the display, usb, sound connections seem to be flimsy.
Pros: Works the way it was intended. Altho I can not comment on the video side of it yet... I'm using on board video for now. works great.... amd 955 x4 and 4 gig of gskill.. Comment:
first ASUS board... upped from an ABIT.. will buy ASUS again.... I Like this setup..... Had BSOD at first... found out it was an install of 7 error... clean install.... no problems as of yet! |

nicceee
Cons: The software that came with it is just OK and a little 2001.... amd overdrive keeps becoming currupt and requiring an uninstall/reinstall to get running again.
Pros: Works great with an amd 620 quad core and 1600mhz a-data 2gb ram chips. Ram was running at 1300 until I upped it in the bios. Came with some ok software to monitor temperatures Comment:
overall great value, great options for overclocking in the bios. |

Great purchase for the $$$$
Cons: Components are a tight fit on the board, otherwise none.
Pros: Keeps up with everything you would want a board to do. I have board running 16GB RAM, (2) N-vidia 9800 GT card using the SLI bridge, and filled with hard drives to boot. With a 3.0 CPU it seems to be doing really well. Comment:

great board
Cons: none so far
Pros: every option you could want (except wireless), north bridge runs cool, on board video works great for HTCP Comment:
not sure if I would ever use the express gate option because I boot into win 7x64 under 40 seconds (Phenom IIx4 3.4 ghz, 8gb ram, 7200 rpm drive). |

Best Board
Cons: None so far!
Pros: AM3 support, HDMI,DDR3, MICRO form factor. Worked right out of the box. Built for wife and uses on board video with excellent results. Comment:
This is the 5th PC I built and I had no start up problems. The board has more features than other boards I have purchased and will be a Media PC in the future. |

Has it all
Cons: Doesn't come with all the brackets. For me, this is only a small nit-pick, since most of the stuff I need is already on the main back panel.
Pros: Loads of features in a small form-factor. The side-port memory is a nice plus. Supports DDR3 and all the big CPU's. Comment:
Makes a sweet HTPC. |

Good, but not as good as expected
Cons: Well, the Express gate is only useful if you want to add few seconds to your boot time. The AUTO voltage for CPU is scary. I bumped the CPU speed from 3.4Ghz to 3.6Ghz and nearly crapped myself when I saw it was applying 1.425V to the CPU. I set voltage to manual and dropped it to 1.39V and ran some tests. Then, I began decreasing voltage and found it was (Prime95) stable at 3.6Ghz @ 1.365V. So, I’m not inclined to trust the AUTO settings on any of the voltages if I plan to overclock. CPU voltage fluctuation is a bit more than I expected for “high-quality” capacitors. I saw a fluctuation of 0.12V on this ASUS board, while on a similar Gigabyte board with “high-quality” capacitors I saw a fluctuation of 0.02V. Hmmmm
Pros: All in all, a solid board. Only a few minor details keep it from getting 5 eggs (see cons). The board seems well-made, boasting a 2oz copper PCB and high-quality capacitors. No bios update was needed for a 125w model of the Phenom IIx4 965 with 8GB (2GBx4) of Patriot 1600Mhz DDR3. It booted on the first attempt and setup went smoothly. The bios is very tweakable, providing tons of overclocking options. Comment:
I’ve dealt with many different brands of motherboards, and this isn't the first ASUS board I’ve tinkered with. I see a lot of people claiming that ASUS is #1 and can’t be topped. Well, in my experience this is not true. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very good board, but it is not #1 and is only narrowly out-performed by a select few other brands. I’m thinking of buying another ASUS board of a different chipset to see if my results are consistent when comparing with different brands. My goal was to build a solid gaming machine in a fairly portable case………..AMD Phenom IIx4 365 @ 3.7Ghz, 1.3725V (capped till my new cooler arrives)8GB Patriot DDR3 RAM @ 1600MhzXFX 1GB ATI Raedon 4890 OC’dPioneer BDR-205BKS- Blu-Ray BurnerWD Caviar Green WD10EARS- 1TB w/64MB cache HDDCorsair 750w PSU Crammed into an APEX TX-381 micro case (it has a handle on the top of the case, sweet!) |

ASUS M4A785TD-M Evo mATX 785G Socket AM3 DDR3 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 2PCI Video Sound GBLAN Motherboard
Cons:Wiring may be awkward for non-traditional mATX cases, Tight clearance with larger video cards
Pros:Easy set up, Well-thought out design, Lots of features for the price, onboard audio is excellent value, good price, Many connectors. Comment:
I bought this for a compact gaming build, and it's outdone my expectations. set up was a breeze, all connectors are clearly marked. I'm glad to see support for HDMI, eSATA and an abundance of USB ports. My only issue is that Larger videocards obscure all PCI ports, and make plugging internal cables a headache. Be smart and put your video card in last. Also, some cases may place the power supply at the opposite side of the case, making you stretch the CPU power and PSU fan connectors across the entire board. |

very impressed
Cons: this really isn't a con for me because I fixed the issue right away but... when I installed the board into my case I did my norm and put the graphics card in right away, the computer would not display anything for the integrated controller or my card. so be for warned, if you plan on installing a card do it AFTER your first boot.added on to the above "con" even after the first boot I still got nothing, I had to take the card back out and go into the BIOS and reset to default settings (note that I did not make any adjustments to them but for some reason this worked flawlessly) other than that the board works very very well
Pros: I bought this board because I got a phenom II 955 3.2 quad for christmas and my previous mobo did not support the phenom II processors, this board is AMAZING. I paired it up with ddr3 1600 mushkin (2x2GB Blackline) and my old Geforce 8600 GTS and I am very impressed with the performance of this board. the overclocking capabilities are almost endless with all the extra utilities that come on the driver disc, although, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING IF YOU PLAN ON OVERCLOCKING. I wasn't paying attention and overclocked my cpu to 6.7Ghz and obviously my computer locked up and I had to revert back to default. I also noticed less heat on my processor (which is a huge plus because I have a very small case) do to the 2oz copper heat sink within the board. I did not try the integrated graphics because this is my gaming computer and I know from common knowledge.... and experience cough* cough* that any integrated graphics controller is not suitable for gaming. Great Board
Cons: Manual was a little less user friendly than I would have liked (Although not terrible or anything). Configured my DDR3 1600 chips with 1333 speed and CAS 11 timings (???). I assume this is a BIOS issue though as there are updates for memory compatibility. Not a huge deal, but I did waste 3 minutes setting timings manually. Annoying port cover plate (Asus, remove those stupid steel tabs please).
Pros: Very high quality motherboard; it's absolutely loaded to the gills with advanced features. Nice high quality copper PCB as well as good quality capacitors. Feature set is excellent. Onboard audio is great. The IGP (Radeon 4200) is also one of the best around (I don't use it, but I enjoy it being there if my dedicated card were to fail). Full featured BIOS with control of literally every aspect of everything. Comment:
Overall very satisfied with this board. Everything just works great. Easily runs a P2 955 Quad and 4 gigs of DDR3 1600 with no issues whatsoever. Would recommend. |

good stuff, but could use more heatsinks like its bigger ATX brother.
Cons: The northbridge gets extreamly hot and will cause your higher overclocks to fail. There are also no heatsinks on the mosfets around the CPU, which also get hot. I really wished that this motherboard came with the heatsinks just like the ATX version.
Pros: Has very up to date specs except SATA3. Small, compact, and can hold some high end hardware. Comment:
Currently using this motherboard with:AMD X4 620@3.6Ghz with the Corsair H50PatriotViperII 1600Mhz DDR3ASUS 5770I am not going to overclock the CPU any higher without replacing the NB heatsink with maybe a Xigmatek. Even putting a fan blowing directly at the NB wasnt enough. |

Good so far
Cons: PCI slots are a bit too close to the PCI-Express x16 slot. After putting my graphics card in, I can only use the bottom PCI slot and the express x1 slot. I have no plans to use these slots, though, so it's not much of a con for me.
Pros: SmallSupports DDR3 1600More SATA ports than I know what to do with Comment:
I'm not sure if it's the fault of the motherboard or my case, but I had to put my graphics card on the board before putting it in the case; I could not get the card to fit in while the board was attached to the motherboard tray. |

buy this motherboard
Cons: Didn't come with any screws :(also I find that the pci-e slots are too close to the pci slots
Pros: What can I say? It does everything you need it to do. Also, it used technology recent enough to push back the date it becomes obsolete by a good year. Comment:
Worth a purchase if you're building an amd rig. |

Working well for my basic needs
Cons: The only downfall I've noted so far is that the RAID is software, not hardware. I had a friend who is an IT professional (granted in network administration) but none the less he could not get the raid to configure 2 SATA drive in parallel mirring. The first thing he said was "oh sh!t, it's a software raid..I hate software raid" and after 2 hours he gave up.In one month of use my new machine running win7 ulitmate has severely locked up twice. I'm not blaming it on this MOBO but I wasn't expecting a clean new setup to puke.
Pros: This board was recommended to me at maximumpc.com forums for my basic needs. I like the dual video output since I have one HDMI monitor and one older VGA, this MOBO drives them both in dual screen mode. It seems to be up to date on spec's at the time and under $100, I got it as a combo here at new egg with an Athalon X2 2.8 processor Comment:
Other than the Raid set up problem, I'm happy with this board. For the cost and quality name I think it is up to date, at least for a few weeks :) |

Excellent mobo
Cons: Bios post kinda take a while in comparison to say Gigabyte boards.
Pros: Very easy to update bios and tweak settings. Instructions in manual very clear. Onboard graphics is great for a simple desktop. Comment:
This is an excellent HTPC or desktop motherboard that supports DDR3 and the latest AMD sockets. I highly recommend this board. |

Cons: none really just a great board
Pros: ati 4200 on board video and HDMI hookup works flawlessly for 1080P play back wonderfull board everything works perfectly. has everything you need. Comment:
If you want to build a fantastic media center use this board its really all you are going to need besides the obvious. threw a AMD x3 720 BE in mine felt quad was a little over kill for this build. |

Be careful choosing memory for this board. I originally ordered G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ. It would crash continually. Thinking it might be the board I ordered a second motherboard. Changed many different bios settings but never could get the board stable in either WinXP nor Win7. Bios does not allow one to change the Command Rate from 1T to 2T. Replaced with Kingston KVR1333D3N9K2/4G with all bios settings on Auto and have had no problems with either board for the past month. Even the latest bios version, 918, does not allow changing the Command Rate. The com port connector is at the top back of the board. I had purchased a com port cable for the board but it was too short to reach slots. I had to cut a hole in the case below the power supply in which I mounted the connector. If one used a video card the problem would be even worse.
