ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Comment:
I just made the switch from AMD to an i7 950 and this board has really enhanced the experience. I have genuinely enjoyed the BIOS for one. I was worried, switching from the ease of a black edition processor on a gigabyte AMD board, that I would be lost in a new BIOS menu. But it's fairly effortless to navigate and has excellent attributes. Effortless to overclock. I set XMP with my Corsair Dominator RAM and it set the timings proper and ran at 1600 MHz right away. I like the reality that it will run two graphics cards at x16 for when I SLI in the near future. The cpu socket has decent clearance from the RAM slots which is a plus for those with big heatsinks. I don't know what else to say other than it's a quality board that has worked with out troubles and has overclocked with no blue screens whatsover. It has given me what I require to have a top of the line gaming system. I didn't take an egg off for this simply because I'm nevertheless not confident what occurred but I had to return this board for a replacement a couple of days immediately after I got it. What occurred is I switched from a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ CPU cooler to a Corsair H70. I believe I had overtightened the heatsink mounting screws way too substantially and when I unscrewed them to put in the new cooler...possibly it just lastly broke the motherboard. I don't believe it was from overtightening the motherboard screws to mount it to the case but that's attainable too. Either way, soon after installing the new cooler, it would not boot up. Took it back, got a new 1, and anything worked. I'm type of paranoid about it now but I would just advise not to overtighten points - make it secure but no death grip needed.MemOK function only served to confuse me and did not function as intended when I wasn't booting. Appears like a cool function but it lit up when the memory certainly wasn't the issue which confused me.Didn't come with screws.. One other factor that is type of annoying is that it takes literally 8 or so seconds as soon as I power on my pc till a display is shown. It's not my monitor either due to the fact it didn't take that lengthy with my other laptop or computer and the very same monitor. It's not affecting something truly but sometimes I practically think it's failing to boot and then finally it pops up. I would recommend this motherboard to any person obtaining a LGA 1366 processor. It's certainly for enthusiasts and is high high quality. Yet it's nonetheless not too considerably that it's intimidating or hard to navigate. The largest plus is that it has been stable and when I want to alter a setting, it doesn't resist me like motherboards in the past have. No blue screens so far for the win. Get it..unless you want to devote 跾 in order to have an unnecessarily huge heatsink on your chipset :)

Every little thing. Usb 3. Sata 6.. Quickly Overclocks like a dream... Mem Ok is amazing. Its just a good Board. None!!! Stable X58 motherboard i have ever owned. and built. Don't listen to everybody that has a bad evaluation. Most people that construct and fix pc will know that most of the reviews don't have expertise enough to figure out there problems. So they are Rapid to blame it on the Motherboard... I have completed enough builds on all platforms to know that people ask me to appear at the computer they just built. I do it and locate 90% or additional are improper configuration. or not sufficient power.

A lot but.... The Marvel 88SE9128 SATA 6 chip is pure garbage. After initially testing the chip with 2 SSDs in RAID0 and not becoming satisfied with the mediocre performace, I removed the drives from the controller and discovered that the board would no extended conplete POST unless a drive was connected to one particular of the marvel sata ports. Even right after resetting the BIOS and disabling the marvel chip totally, I nonetheless could not the method POST unless a drive was attached to the Marvel. This mobo is useless now. Not confident what I will do now with the useless thing now. It will work fine as lengthy as I generally use the Marvel raid which I hadn't planned on using at all, I have a new Highpoint card thats a lot faster, but I cant even use this board unless I leave plugged in to a chip thats not even enabled.Asus, you utilized a buggy chip. Now what am I supposed to do? >:|

Integrated and ran out of the box, no difficulties. Plays all games. Has sockets for quite a few high finish video cards. Power on Self Test Time (POST) initially slowed down with ASUS menu plan. Disabled it. Use it with an SSD drive for booting Windows 7 Ultimate. Quickly!

A wonderfully designed board with no difficulty at all installing something on it, and the BIOS and almost everything else that comes with it is fairly nice as nicely, I'm not a fan of Realtek audio but no need to take eggs off for that considering that I'm not working with that integrated audio on it. None My initially board did come with two dead memory slots but mistakes in manufacturing do occur, so just be confident to as with any new motherboard test all your slots before you have to completely disassemble almost everything for an RMA if you can!

Good board and had everything I necessary for my construct. I didn't have any of the troubles that other people seem to have. I only installed three memory chips and all perform okay. I'm operating Win7 64-bit None at all I wish I knew far more about overclocking simply because I can't figure out how to do all of the alterations I would require to do. I just set the Ai Overclock Tuner to X.M.P. and so far, no issues. It's quickly sufficient for what I want to do. Maybe someday I'll try to do some thing additional, but for now, I'm okay with how it's operating. Moved from AMD to Intel with this board and could not be happier with the X58 chipset. The bios is user friendly and allows for effortless overclocking. This board capabilities USB three. and 6 Gbps which is what I was seeking for. Will manage multi-GPU cards in SLI or CrossFireX. Newegg service rocks--received this item from the warehouse in less than two days! The Marvell 9128 controller limits the speed of my Intel Series 510 SSD and may well not pass TRIM commands. Benchmarks show seq read speed of 320 MB/s which is still good. I will also lose a PCI slot when I add an additional graphics card which is important. No onboard graphics FYI but if your getting this then you ought to be obtaining a graphics card anyways. none Watch youtube videos on this bard cant go wrong finding this one. Future proof yourself. Installed in a fresh build and fired correct up 1st boot..The Motherboard came with the present bios already flashed onto it鵯) so I didn't have to worry about updating it even..The ability to overclock on this board is extremly effortless with a few installed intel presets.. Only thing I noticed that was odd was when I turned on Qfan..I set it to turbo mode and it idled down my fans and my 800rpm 200mm fan went down to 500rpm and was in the red which means it was at a value not advised..Which I just turned Qfan off and didn't bother with it again..Other than that it works perfectly!! I reccomend this board if you want a nice good quality board and like to have some options on what type of control you have over various components..

Motherboard is quite potent, straightforward use, and has great specs. Booted perfectly initially try. The PCI slots are close together so I absolutely won't be able to be able to do triple SLI (not that I'd need to) and can barely do double SLI. My video card is rather massive, smaller GPUs may possibly not have such an problem with this.

Often loved ASUS motherboards, they function practically flawless. Simple to setup and like the superior more than-clocking functions, they appear more controllable. Haven't tried over-clocking yet, fairly sure its not needed for my requirements. Not definitely a con, purchased Corsair 4GB x three memory kit. Motherboard would randomly recognize only 8GB of the 12GB. De-clocked the memory from 1600MHz to 1333Mz, no dilemma because then. I may possibly have to play with VRAM and QPI voltage alittle according to some other reviews. This is without having a doubt 1 of the finest all around motherboards I have employed in a couple of years. The features are amazing, and the performance is on par with anything comparable which is currently on the market. I am using this MOBO with a Intel core i7 Bloomfield cpu and it really kicks. None This is installed in a Antec Lanboy Air case. The configuration of the sata ports makes it required to use angled sata cables, otherwise they wont, fit due to the style of the case.

This is the first computer I've self-built in quite a while, but have typically gone with ASUS in the past and I am extremely glad I did. The board layout is good, with plenty of room for large graphics cards. It was extremely easy to install and even easier to setup, with on-board lights indicating RAM compatibility and boot errors. Highly recommend.

TWO STARS!!Purchased one of these for a from scratch build less then a year ago. After a couple of months it wouldn't boot anymore and fried my SSD drive. Asus sent me a replacement (had to argue that their website states Canada is included in their special warranty program). Now less then 4 months later the replacement has crapped out and wont boot anymore.Lots of memory compatibility issues, trouble waking from sleep, sudden shutdown etc.Not a heat issue as build is corsair hydro cooled, tried various memory configs etc.Not buying Asus again due to their unreliable gear and difficult customer support!Only TWO stars, NCIX website saying my order ID is invalid?

Board has a nice layout with easy to access areas. I dont run SLI or Crossfire so I cant comment on the slots and space, but the single GTX 275 has room to spare. Board booted and got the self test single beep correct off the bat. Also recognized all 6gb of G.Skill ram very first time no problem. Has run smooth with an Core I7-930 at stock clocks. Didnt see any reason to OC since it's running at over 90+ fps in Black Ops. Just an overall good expertise out of the box with no complications whatsoever. None that I can believe of so far. Bios settings could be a little confusing if you're a novice but for the seasoned guys its not too bad. I did a lot of investigation just before I made this purchase and came out with this winner following all the dust settled. EVGA, Gigabyte, and MSI all had what seemed like some key cons in distinct areas along with a couple of other Asus boards . I couldnt find significantly in the way of cons with this board and I'm glad I purchased it.
