Lots of potiential. I'm on the 2nd RMA for this board. Six weeks and nonetheless waiting to have a functioning technique. Initial board had element troubles and the second board has a dead Ram slot. I'm now waiting on the third board! I read how other folks had terrible boards but figured they had done one thing incorrect. Seems ASUS has poor high quality control procedures. I'll certainly consider twice prior to getting another one. Was also disappointed to locate that this board only has a single USB2 plug on it. That signifies some of the USB2 ports are dead on the front panel of my case because there is no place to plug them in.

I ahve had this board for about six months now, in no way got a DOA board. i had alot of troubles when i first got it, narrowed down to a PSU. essentially what im trying to say is Buy IT. its not the easiest in the globe for the tech unfriendly. but if you have any idea how to function past USER ERROR. which i can just about assure is why half these persons have to get new boards, then youre alright. or jut be cautious? two bios chips for messing around with the bios, this board has something you could every single want. plus its stunning :D the sata 6Gbs ports are no better than the 3Gbs onboard, with the onboard marvell controller. absolutely a wonderful board.

Really good hunting board and properly created. I did not have to use optional heatsink or reapply any TIM like I normally do on mobos when undertaking a lot of OCing. So straightforward to OC its not even funny. Literally took me less than 15 minutes and a couple of bios settings to hit 4. GHZ on my i7 930. NA You want TWO 8 pin ATX/EPS 12V connectors! I employed a Corsair skilled series which truly can accomodate this. Still can't get my bluetooth to work with android. Want to play with it some additional...

Beautiful board, PWM fan connectors, optional northbridge cooler with fan, a lot more BIOS choices that I've ever seen. My BIOS would lock up as I was navigating by means of the options. Flashed to most up-to-date BIOS and it's fine now. The documentation is a bit lacking. I had problems deciphering which fan connectors worked greatest for PWM (some rely on optional temp. sensors). You won't be disappointed.

Comes with all the bells and whistles. Very quick. Tons of tweeks. Installed the Prolimatech Megahalem heatsinks but only was capable to set up 1 cooling fan. The other interfered with the DDR3 ram heatsink fins. Also most powersupply do not come with the dual 8 pin EATX conn for CPU - had to use splitter. Great board. Kinda substantial, make positive you have a major case. 2 or much more Vid Cards will need 2 molex disk drive connectors (which is wierd, under no circumstances noticed a MB do that bfore). Took me roughly one hour to bench test this point. The characteristics on the MB are just unbelievable. I am now employing my DroidX to handle the ROG overclocking! The documentation is superior but in my opinion there is no care taken to ensure that there are concise directions. This is an epidemic dilemma related to English becoming a second language with computer system hardware. The Windows Expertise Index on my make is 7.four without any overclocking. I place a 128GB SSD boot drive in and I have 4-1TB 7200rpm SATA drives setup in RAID10. The drive efficiency index is 7.9!

Wonderful board, tons of features and little extras. I'm not genuinely into overclocking but this board was built with enthusiasts in mind. It does what I want it to do. I did a ton of investigation prior to constructing my most up-to-date pc and was dissapointed that the Marvell SATA 3 controller only supported a VIRTUAL RAID array. I had to plug my SATA 3 HDs into SATA two ports so that I could configure the PHYSICAL RAID array. Also it could have employed an additional connection for front panel USB ports. I personal the Corsair 600T case (which has four front panel USB two. ports) and only half of them are in a position to function due to this board's lack of additional connections. I'm not entirely certain that there is a BIOS update that addresses the SATA three RAID controller only supporting a virtual array as an alternative of a physical array. If everyone knows really feel absolutely free to message me!

Plenty of PCI Express slots. Bios is really uncomplicated to navigate for a newbie like me. I have advised this m/b to all of my friends. See other thoughts The 1st one I got, the south bridge heat sink failed and in bios would heat up until it hit the fail safe and turned off. RMA it with no troubles and the new one particular is a beauty.

The style of the board and box had a good presentation. CPU Q-LED light on mobo, no video, no bios nothing at all except fans, wouldn't even beep, study the manual front to back made certain I didn't miss something and I didn't. Looked it up, evidently this takes place a lot, RMA (thankfully I got the warranty too) will alter this if the new 1 is any greater.

Outstanding board all round, booted right up the initial time. Common asus lay-out. Most of the included software program is useless, go to the help website for the latest drivers. The marell 6gb/s ports are no faster than the 3gb/s ports, fairly clear this function was tossed in as a "sale-me" point. However, the rest of the available motherbothers are the very same. This board was incredibly properly equiped with all the extas. Like the most current foiled back-board. Wished they moved the SATA ports reduced on the board, really don't care for the stacked design and style. Did I mention the included application? Pfff! Other than that, good board.

Excellent board building, and very fond of the look.Making use of switches alternatively of jumpers on the PCI express switches saves me from possessing to use tweezersMemOK! is a genuinely good function. This motherboard only consists of a single USB header, Meaning that if your case has more then two front panel USB ports (My 800D has four), you will not be able to use two of them. This also implies you will be unable to use any internal USB devices like card readers or a USB enabled fan controller. Strangely Asus decides to incorporate a USB bracket with the motherboard regardless of no exactly where to plug it in to.A "Browser Configuration" application is installed with the driver package which seems to serve no purpose then to modify your default search setting to yahoo. Installing the integrated extended heat sink/fan module on the north-bridge causes a circumstance exactly where a double slot card in the initial PCI-E x16 slot becomes particularly tricky to remove as both sides of the slot are blocked and hence the latch inaccessible with no some sort of tool. The lighted ROG logo is crooked. This wouldn't be so terrible if it was just the logo, but it has the text below it as well. This appears tacky and seriously low-cost for a 踰 component.

This is an amazing board and has such a wide set of overclocking features! The SATA connectors angled towards the side which doesnt perform well with some circumstances and wants smaller SATA connectors. The Marvell 6GB controller is useless! Not only is it slower in a RAID configuration but it took forever to set up windows...reformated and utilized Intel Controller alternatively. Get the board if your huge on overclocking otherwise stick with the formula version with the Creative Sound.

Zero. Exactly where to start off... Bought this board about two weeks ago. Installed it completely into my method got Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit up and running and noticed that the RAM was only registering four of the 6GB. Checked the BIOS, it also only shows four of the 6GB. Went online to come across an answer and the asus forums say there is a bent prong on the CPU socket. I found the prong with my magnified glass and ever so gently picked it back with a needle. Reseated the processor, hit the switch... Absolutely nothing. Reseated the CPU 4x times... Absolutely nothing. Thank you Newegg for lettting me RMA this garbage.. Got a new board, installed it and... Nothing at all!! There is a little red light indicating that the CPU is the error now. OK! Purchased a NEW i7 950 (BRAND NEW) even though i couldn't wait for the new one particular from the RMA for the 930. Got the 950 and... Nothing. Yet another DEAD BOARD!!! I have to RMA this board Once more! Three weeks are going.. What occurs when I get Another dead board and I can\'t RMA anymore? I'm out 踜.. DO NOT After the second board died, I called Asus for some technical help pondering 'this can't be feasible... I had to have messed up or I have to be missing one thing'. I get connected to what sounded like my 13 year old step-brother higher as hell. I explained my entire predicament which was followed by 30 seconds of silence. Immediately after asking 'hello?' the kid responded with "Yeah. It sounds like the processor or motherboard." NO $#@* BUDDYThat was my 'technical support'. The ending suggestion... RMA the board, RMA the processor and try once again. Asus = fail. I wish I would have study additional of these unfavorable evaluations. It seems a lot of men and women have the same problems I do. If you want high quality... appear for Gigabyte or EVGA.. Asus has gone down the garbage shoot and they don't care about their consumers... I will never ever purchase from Asus once more. I would suggest no 1 buy something from them ever. ideal of luck to anybody else out there and I hope I helped an individual. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client,We sincerely apologize for the troubles you are experiencing with this motherboard. Please get in touch with me at OC_Assistance@asus.com and reference case quantity NE0705 so that I could get much more information about your technique configuration and have you send your board straight to me for evaluation into the root cause of the challenge. Has x4 slot for rivo drive. I installed microsoft office in two minutes. which was because of the ssd. This board does not have any issues like I study in the critiques on newegg. Just individuals dont know what they are doing. I had problems acquiring the board to turn on when I hit the energy button on my tower. I had to unplug 1 of the 8 pin energy conectors subsequent to the cpu and it came to life. no difficulties so far.

It's ASUS and it worked awesomely appropriate from the beginning. You finish up paying for anything that you won't ever use if you're not an more than-clocker.You also can't have 4x480s in SLI on this considering that some of the pins are in the way. You need shorter boards. 3x is fine.

This motherboard has the potential to be extremely excellent and strong , the overclocking and functions of this board are top notch. I really do like the board and am in a position to do a lot with it , Nevertheless...... Obtaining a operating issue free of charge board is like winning the lottery , if you get 1 you are all set for the life of the board but if you do not you are out of luck. So far I have RMA 'd the board after to Asus only to get it back with a various issue , which I currently have a RMA quantity for but am hesitent to go by way of with the course of action mainly because of the history I have had with RMA'ing with Asus. I went via the RMA method once with Newegg and two occasions with Asus on the Striker 11 Intense motherboard and the board is now sitting on a shelf in my basement. I was about to take my personal computer apart once more to send this board back when I sat down and thougt about all the RMA'S I have accomplished with Asus and realized that they never ever really fixed something. This board originally stopped posting one day and the cpu lite stayed on , when I got it back from Asus the cpu lite would now go off but the memory lite stayed on and would not post, I did figure out that given that I had been running the memory in the XMP profile I had naturally set that when I got the board back, so to repair this I set the memory at auto and the board posted and would run. I even have the cpu overclocked to 4.2ghz. But if I attempt to set the memory above 1333mhz the board will not post and I have spent days trying just about every unique setting in the bios to no avail. I went so far as to attempt unique bios releases and the other bios chip , all with no results this board wll not run memory above 1333mhz. Due to the fact it is functioning I may just maintain it and look for some thing much better from an additional manufacturer. It's a shame due to the fact I have purchased Asus boards for the final ten years and with the experiences of these two boards I will now try somebody else.

It is a incredibly nicely laid out board and very easy to navigate. With this board I am atleast great to go for a couple of years. So if you want a good board that permits you to upgrade later on down the road go for this a single, invest the funds and by no means appear back. If you gonna do it do it right. My board did come with the present Bios 1102 and I haven't had any troubles as of but so asus ought to have fixed some of the problems that had been addressed in the forums. But hey, when you have circuitry this comples stuff occurs you can't explain no matter how considerably testing a company does, cause you can't anticipate human error. This is for the Silverstone FT02, since Asus had to move the core socket on the board the backplate hole on the case does not line up. So be prepare to set up heatsink back plate ahead of you place the board into the case. You spend for what you get, if you go inexpensive you will have low cost.
