Booted rapid and clean. Attractive board with lots of area for upgrades. Stays nice and cool. It is a biggin so make confident you get a full tower the additional air the far better. The voltage indicator LED's are good to have for a swift stability reference. there is a lot of fantastic software program that comes with this board like also several to mention. and of course overclocking is as fun as it is straightforward, this board provides you a lot of alternatives none but but i havent had the chance to test everything Intel i980xASUS Rampage III FormulaEVGA Superclocked GTX58012bg Corsair XMS3 ddr3 TripChan 1600mhz1000wt RaidMax PSUGSKILL Phoenix Pro 60gb SSDAZZA Hurrican Full Tower...much additional that doesnt matter!

Pretty significantly has the similar attributes as the Extreme version only much less "bells and whistles" making it cheaper. You currently know the specsFor an open box item i was pleased to see that almost everything was in order and the board performs just fine. NONE my only complaint is that it is hard to get my 17-930 previous four ghz. At 4.2 or four.4 i can log into windows but not steady. It could be that i just got unlucky with the processor but who knows. I do have a incredibly stable overclock of 4GHZ and iam delighted with that. P55 or X58?? i really feel that i spent adequate time with each and this is how i feel. In terms of gaming, for me there IS a noticable difference involving the two when making use of a multi GPU setup. The complete pci bandwith that the X58 gives shows when you are playing the most graphic intenese games. For single GPU setup there is NO difference, for eveyday net browsing, video rendering or whatever i did not notice a distinction. When loading applications i did not notice a distinction. I get pleasure from this board a lot and i hope my thoughts enable some of you out there.

Stable with all six memory slots filled; a lot of possibilities to improve OCing; two BIOSes with many profiles Want it had more SATA and PATA ports; no front panel USB three. port. Win7Ult x64 would not load default AHCI drivers for SATA3 port. Bought the ASUS RIIIF to escape issues encountered w/ GigabBYE board (rebuilt RAID5 ever other week; not stable w/ all six memory slots). For some reason, bare-metal set up of Agility 2 on SATA3 port, Win7Ult would not load the default AHCI drivers. So, I was forced to use the native Marvell drivers with questionable TRIM help.GigaBYE was affordable, but pay far more for this board to get stability and a specific level of high quality.

Simple To Setup, Effortless to OC With, Attractive Design and style None My Antec 850w power supply blew up on my final week. I replaced it with a Corsair 1000w which I am incredibly pleased with. The Antec PSU destroyed my Asus p6t when it went. I at the moment have two 300gb drives in Raid . I feared I would shed my array, but thankfully the Rampage detected my array and booted proper up.

worked suitable out of the box no challenges. went from a Q6600 three.2ghz to this with a I7 950 and my frame prices in bfbc2 and black ops went up 100 FPS !!!all the ROG stuff is great ,, tune on the fly is great except when you over clock it likes to auto set the cpu voltage way to high and also the cpu PLL volts,, so manually adjust them down.. also if finding a Coolmaster v6 GT heatsink is realy large so you cant use your 1st ram slot.. which isnt required anyway for 6 gig no huge deal..wanted a EVGA Classified 3 but have been on back order for ever becoming a large Evga fan , i hated to to alter brands but Glad i did .. dont hesitate this is a awesome board in everyway.. plus it has 16x two SLi which evga doesnt so grab a single while ya can !!! just the Ram clearence challenge with heatsink not ASUS fault tho .... -Superior than most onboard sound-Good overclocker-Wonderful aesthetics-A lot of great choices/features even even though it's a small brother-3way SLI/Crossfire-Excellent and effortless to use/OC bios-Can save just about every OC you make to pre-load easily and not lose your settings -The chips on the board tend to run fairly hot. My chips were operating at around 40-50c+ or so. -Mine was defective and had to RMA-16x8x8x but I heard it doesn't really matter-It's not the Extreme? I had to RMA mine as it blew two capacitors while stressing in Prime 95. CPU was only at significantly less than 1.35. But I had ram operating at 2000mhz and it kept putting my QPI vcore to 1.five+. Even if it was at that high of volts it shouldn't have brought on it to blow like this. The board could have still worked, but I didn't really feel like dealing with it. I ended up acquiring a new Gigabyte G1 Guerrilla for 50 bucks additional. I am currently missing this board though... It's a wonderful board. Exact same factor has happened to some people as well, not certain why. May possibly be because the chips run so hot on the mobo... I advise you if you get this to reapply and reseat the heatsinks on the board with good aftermarket thermal paste. This was my setupThis moboIntel i7 950ASUS 6950 2gbCorsair ax850w modular 80plus GoldGskill Trident 2000mhz cl 9 (would recommend 1333-1600 perhaps 1800 over this as some will need very high QPI for 24ǝ)Prolimatech Megahalems cpu cooler (push pull high cfm scythes)Asus dvd rw and 500gb sata2

Incredibly uncomplicated to overclock- has settings for 1-step CPU OC, PLUS straightforward RAM settings. Tends to make it straightforward to get CPU to four. with RAM at 1684; auto-detects (and sets) right RAM voltage. Fan controls are great (but see Cons). I could possibly get four.2 or far more, I have some headroom with the voltage.MANUAL Overclock settings: the voltage controls for CPU are genius. Permitted me to get stable at 4. (i7 950), then decrease volts steadily to lower heat. Also adore attempting diverse BCLK/Multiplier settings to get specific RAM speeds.Plenty of fan connectors. --Works far better with 2gb x3 than 2gb x6; very same exact RAM- requirements larger voltage with six DIMMs. --Fan controls: I want to be able to set the Chassis fans individually, and also the Power or Solution fan close to the CPU- they must allow the Turbo profile like the CPU fan. I have 2 CPU fans, would be good to set both the exact same devoid of having to run the cable all over the board to get it in the suitable plug. I guess a fan controller will be the next acquire.--Cables: the SATA2 cables that come with are wonderful, but all four are 90-degree on a single end. Due to the stacked connectors, the board can only take the non 90-degree finish, so the drives have the 90-degree; but some of the drives (like a two.five inch SSD) are mounted so the connector barely clears the platform that the drive is on; a straight-finish SATA cable wouldn't have the difficulty. They do include two SATA3 cables that have white overlays on the connector so you can tell them apart from the SATA2 cables. The negatives are FAR outweighed by the PROs. Easiest board I've employed to get a actually good setup, with out wasting also substantially time attempting the settings. Nevertheless needs some manual tweaking, but a vast improvement more than even the older ASUS BIOSs.--Allows dual fans for CPU cooler; speaking of- the very first DIMM in the second channel is extremely close to the cooler, but it does match (Hyper 212+ with two fans)- even with tall RAM heat sinks (as in Vengeance).--Plug in the 8-pin mobo energy connector just before mounting the CPU cooler, and check the energy provide cable length initial. The front audio connector is also appropriate below a bunch of cables and close to the initial GPU card, plug it in initially.

None so far This board comes with all the cables you require which includes each SLI and Crossfire, so dealers choice there. This is by far the easiest build I have ever accomplished. Minus routing the wires; it took about a hour to install all components and get the Win7 setup. Extremely impressed. Over clocking is stupid easy. Install the sotware and pick your overclock settings and restart. That uncomplicated. Running Intel I7 950 OC'd at three.7. Bios is well believed out and easy to use with lots of selections. The SATA connectors are on the side of the MB facing the front of the case. I am making use of a Antec 900 case. The wires and hard drives cover up the SATA connectors. Discomfort in the behind to add a single soon after the truth. Much better to hook them all up and tuck the ones you are not working with away. This is a superb board. If you are nevertheless finding out how to make your own rig then this is the board for you. Straightforward to set up MB nicely layed out. Labels and documentation are excellent. It must be noted that I didnt tempt fate and went with ASUS advisable memory. And of course New Egg Rocks!! Order next day and had it on my doorstep at 3pm. I will not be in a position to use all six slots without having modifying, reorienting, or replacing the Corsiar CPU cooler (reorienting will price cooling effieiency). Advised. None that I can see so far. Assembled anything, went to turn it on, no video and got an unknown beep code. Tried to get in touch with asus for several days. was told to leave name and telephone #. no reply. Decided to take every little thing appart to make certain I didn't make a mistake. Removed cpu. Noticed that socket made contact on most of the cpu contacts, but not all. Straightened out the contacts in the socket. Removed mem. Noticed using a magnifying glass that the contacts had been tarnished. Cleaned these and reassembled. Now operates, with no support from ASUS whatsoever. I believe this to be a repackaged board in a new box. Outside package was pristine, Inside boxes had been cruched and no pack of desiccant to be located. If it isn't a repackage, it was poor QC and packaging. I really feel as if I was completly failed as a customer of ASUS and anticipate greater from them. The strange beep code I was geting was the BIOS trying to state a number of problems. If it wasn't for the board possessing the Xfi sound built in, I would have flat out returned the for a refund. Given that I have just got it operating, I havn't even tested the sound yet. If that is negative as nicely, I will demand a complete refund.

Fired up initial time without a hitch. Good layout with one exception (see beneath). Color scheme is amazing. Lots of functions. Sound is exceptional. Fired up 1st time devoid of a hitch. Opened box to come across bent cooling fins on the MOSFETS. I was a small worried that the board may have suffered some unseen damage. They were bent so undesirable some of the black anodized paint came off of two fins. (deducted a single star) Didn't recognize memory speed, not an situation though just set them in BIOS. The eight pin by the CPU is a pain to get to particularly with my huge CPU heatsink. Forward facing SATAs were kinda an challenge but not a main concern. Just took some additional time to route SATA cables. LEDs are good, not that I see them much. Plus the capability to reset BIOS with out having to dig into the case. Very high top quality, aesthetically attractive (black and red theme), uncomplicated to use BIOS possibilities and overclocking menus, higher memory compatibility, hugely capable of overclocking, low profile (yet powerful) VRM/MOSFET heatsinks similar with NB, simply fits Noctua's enormous NH-D14 heatsink. Also, it came Creatives X-Fi chip onboard.I honestly have no explanation to suggest the Extreme model more than this board to anyone, this 1 is effortlessly superior (Google it, lots of cons on the Extreme).Overclocking Knowledge- i7 950 @ four. Other than that, I have no actual cons to list. This is a wonderful successor to the P6T Deluxe v1ǘ. I had a P6T Deluxe v2 and it was the best 1366 board that I had applied, till my Rampage III Formlula arrived. I began my i7 adventure with a DFI T3eH8 which was nicely over 跌 when I purchased it nearly 2 years ago. At that time, it was THE hardcore overclocking board to get. To my surprise, it was a pretty crummy board. The VRM's got insanely hot, the NB got insanely hot, the BIOS was a joke, the stability of the board after overclocking was horrible despite being steady throughout testing, the T3eH8 was simply a way overpriced board. Immediately after my very first DFI encounter with the T3eH8, I decided it was time to go back to ASUS and pick up a P6T Deluxe v2...the distinction was night and day. So, moral of the story... ASUS boards are strong. They overclock nicely, has wonderful longenvity, lots of memory compatibility, simple to use BIOS, and their boards always look great.
