This is an excellent board - been running now on my new gaming setup for three months, and it's been flawless. Get the proper BIOS updates, and its been ROCK SOLID! Being a mATX board, space is tight, but that's to be expected - use great cable management in smaller instances!!! Genuinely suggest if you want a mATX gaming rig :)

Great looking board with quite a few great capabilities. OC on the fly I got this baby installed and fired my computer up. I installed Windows 7 skilled 64 bit. None of my USB ports perform. They all get power but dont recognize flash drives, mouse, keyboard, and so forth. I had to use an old psǘ mouse to nagivate via menus. If i cant get this to function tomorrow I will RMA the board.

Nice speedy board with lots of tweaking functions. The capability to run a USB cable from this motherboard to a different Pc/laptop and monitor temperatures and frequencies is handy. The SATA ports are not only mounted parallel to the board, they're also on the edge of the board. I'm confident some builders choose it this way, and I'm certain there are benefits to undertaking it this way...but beware, as this can make the ports very hard to access. This is the primary cause for the three-egg rating. Also, be conscious that if you're putting a video card on this motherboard that requires two brackets on the back instead of just one particular, you won't be in a position to use the adjoining PCI slot.

Nothing at all to complain about in it's function and potential to run my RAM, Processor and video card at wonderful speeds. Very user friendly (Relatively) BIOS Don't get me incorrect, I recognize this is a Micro Board, however, the placement of the PCI and PCI express ports would be better for me if flip flopped :( Just be very conscious ahead of acquire that this board has in essence 1 PCI OR 1 PCI Express... and if you use two graphic cards, it has NONE.

This board works fantastic! I am running it with Corsair 1.5v TR3X6G1333C9 6Gb Triple Channel memory, nVidia GTX465 video card and it's a wonderful technique, incredibly fast, quite stable, does every thing I've asked. Running Windows 7 64bit Property Premium. None. As with any hardware, make sure you download the most up-to-date drivers and application updates.

Great solid board. Fantastic bios for overclocking. Sata six and usb 3 is a good add on also. Has a 3 year warranty with it. Rest of the manufactures are 1 year now on micro-atx. Would not help my ram in x.m.p mode. Similar ram that i ran in my Rampage two Extreme with no matters. As now i am stuck at 1,600mhz and i have two,000 mhz ram.Hopefully a newer bios will fix the matters with the ram. Hopefully asus will see this , so i will leave the model quantity of my ram.Kingston Hyper-X T1 8-8-8-24KHX16000D3ULT1K3ǜGXAsus please update the bios to make this ram compatible with this board. Hit 4.four fairly easy on this board. Require to come across a superior heatsink/fan. But it is a ssf situation even though as it is cramped and hot in that tiny space.

This board has every little thing you can want. All the R.O.G added stuff, quick memory and SLI prepared. No problems with it so far. Asus tech help is fantastic so far. No problem with heat or anything at all like that. Integrated software program is excellent. Maxed out at temps about 115 F ࿎ C). i7 950EVGA 470 Superclocked6 gigs Corsair Dominator 1600 MhzWonderful acquire for the cost with out going up to the full ATX boards and paying like 贄 a lot more. Put that 贄 toward one thing far better. Only which are smaller ones is the start off and reset switches on the board are illuminated with super bright white LED's so if you got a situation with a side window be ready to have them shining even with the situation off. Also, took some time to get the new SATA III working but it was far more of a software program issue and formating the HDD then an actual MB issue. But it is rapid as can be and properly worth it. Had to call Asus to get the SATA III working in windows 7 correct but they are pretty fantastic more than there. No 1000 concerns, just straight to the point.

- Virtually everything is a pro with this motherboard!- For overclockers, incredibly robust BIOS capabilities I've put it in a HTPC chassis (Sylverstone LC13B), with a RADEON HD 6950 2Gb graphic card, no more than-heating challenge whatsoever.- Outstanding sound! But study the cons... 1- Excellent sound but broken Via-ASUS driver interface! If plugging a headphone, By way of popup asking a confirmation (annoying in the finish). Worse: interface controls have random effects! I generally need to have to go into CPanel / Via driver, click Advanced Choices, and toggle between redirected or independant headphones whatever the preceding state (or toggle baclk until it operates). This is totally inacceptable, I wonder how it passed their tests (if they do any testing). -1 egg2- The BIOS is very confusing for an OC neophyte like me even although I realize very tech jargon. Either a better on-screen descriptions, or some documentation completely explaining ALL BIOS settings would be significantly appreciated : an explanation on the side bar stating "allows you to set the CPU PLL voltage" whereas the corresponding BIOS entry is labeled "CPU PLL voltage", is not enlightening... Repeating labels and alternatives only because it's in a full sentence don't give a lot more details, it's totally useless. ASUS states that their involvement into By means of's playground by partening in the dev of By way of's drivers and interfaces for ASUS, was "for the greater"... huhummm, Large doubts! But Other than the quite negative documentation and the horrible Via-ASUS driver interface for sound, other than that it's a Fantastic product. Don't forget to update your BIOS before something else (it will also update the Marvell driver if you have SATA3 drives).

Really uncomplicated to setup, loads of gamer attributes. Received defective board that would not let system to boot or post correctly as extended as the 8 pin energy plug was connected (same as several other individuals who reviewed this board). I RMA'd the board following about 1 week and was quite disturbed to have to pay Newegg a shipping fee to get a replacement board shipped for a defective board purchased below the normal warranty. There need to be no shipping charge to returning/replacing defective merchandise. PCI-E slots as well close with each other.

The function set of this board is absolutely great, the finest accessible mATX out there. ASUS tech support epic fail. The board I received from Newegg is defective, "f4" or 蔵" Windows bluescreen after booting from cold (thermal) state. I spent months debugging, only had limited free of charge time on weekends. Changed PSU, CPU, memory, Video, case and mounting which pretty considerably only leaves the board as the supply of challenge. RMA'd to ASUS and they just returned it marked tested okay! You've got to be kidding! Following all the time and power I spent debugging they had been just as well lazy to pay attention and test it properly. Obviously non-trivial tests are needed to catch this sort of defect, if ASUS is not willing to do it in QC they should at least honor the warranty and be interested in carrying out a post mortem when the buyer does the testing for them. Although this soap opera was in progress I bought a second Rampage III GENE (not from Newegg) and it performs just fine with both sets of PSU, CPU and memory that the very first board doesn't perform with. I'd give the board 5 eggs and ASUS tech assistance a goose egg.

from all the X58 miniATX (including Rampage II) this is the one particular that runs the coolest. stock CPU heatsink and fans operating at 1000-1500 rpm are enough if you don't OC.superb excellent in the componentshas USB3, which, in my opinion, is far superior than eSATAtriple-channel rocks for multitasking you require to use the suggested RAM if not you might encounter troubles with CPU temp, fans speed and regulation, and SATA 6.some HDD (WD) are not seriously great for SATA 6 (at least in this board) Seagate HDDs work fine thou.it is imperative that you update the BIOS to the most current version 麚) to avoid the above difficulties as well I don't know why ASUS nonetheless keeps the outdated Matrix Storage Manager. I installed the new Rapid Storage Technologies and it runs nicely (and it is easier to deal with)The integrated utilities package is a plus for these who like to mess up with settings.

Mine booted on the very first shot, recognized my RAM, CPU, CPU, SSD (after firmware upgrade), HD, and ODD on the initially shot. I swear this thing restarts in under 25 seconds, and begins in under ten seconds from a cold boot. What far more could you ask for? Sata 6, USB three, i7, SLI x16 x16, not x8 and x8. The physical buttons are genius! For some purpose my energy button didn't function last night, so i popped the side, and pressd begin on the MOBO. Remarkable. Haven't OC'd but, but I don't really feel the want to. perhaps I'll give it a shot because I purchased the GTX 560 Ti with plans to SLI. I want to run CRYSIS smooth on 1080p, but we'll see. Max Temps i've observed is 46 C on CPU and 68 C on GPU. That's immediately after a couple of hours of gaming. Hung on WIN 7 install twice, but I'm patient. Got it up and operating. not acquiring 300+ Mb/s speed on my Crucial RealSSD on Sata 6. Maxing out at 275 Mb/s READ. Nonetheless searching into it, but perhaps it's stuck on Sata 3. Board works best no difficulties with it so far. The only point is why they have to make the start out and reset buttons light up if that was not there it be much better. Just the lights for start and reset buttons. This my first 6 ram slot motherboard so did have a issue with rams not all working but identified out you have to place them in slots 2, 4 and 6.

Functions in little size Asus utilized to make fantastic, solid boards. I just extracted a Rampage Gene II from a very compact install (so, it was a discomfort) in a Thermaltake Lanbox. It was put in mid 2010. About December, the BSOD circumstance began. It started with Delayed Create fails (I have an SSD). Intelligent information from the SSD was all great, and it tests fine in other machines and other drives/cables cause similar error. On reboot after a BSOD, I would see a row of orange dots below the "Press DEL to enter.." BIOS sentence correct when the boot LCD mentioned detecting SATA Port 1- so something is wrong. I read other reviews about that stated disk reads were 1 of many errors they would get also. This has been on & off because DEC 2010, and now continuous. I have no heat issues; temps are all fine. Airflow in the situation is good as I replaced the plexi side windows with hexmesh right at the start of the create. So- right here I sit with a NIB Rampage Gene III, and NIB MSI X58 mATX- trying to make a decision do I go by way of this again or not. Reading these reviews here, which are echoed all over the net, I dont know regardless of whether to give Asus a different shot. It seems Gene III as negative as Gene II. I had weird troubles with my prior Asus P5WD2 Premium. Overclocking motherboards will need to be rock-stable. You are already generating an unstable scenario by overclocking (maybe)- that is why you test to see how high you can go. So, no way to tell if just the overclock didnt work for THAT CPU/RAM combo, or the board itself is Poor. This has taken all the enjoyable out of building for me (and I began overclocking 80286 back in mid-80's.) Also, with all the negative critiques here, where is the Asus response saying they would aid? Read the the MSI evaluations- few complications, but MSI responds. Asus has gotten also high & mighty to care. The Gene III has all the four-pin fan ports I need though- so I could be stuck making use of them once again. But as you read right here, points can be fine for months and then BSOD.

Fantastic seeking board, slick. Crashing my technique, just after the 30 day return time. Memory dump BSODs, ethernet issues, drive access errors. I believed my challenge was an SSD which it was not. However, I have to replace this board with a thing else. Other people today having the precise very same matters as I am, and all board connected. This is trash. Thought I would be impressed with ASUS. Wrong.

Great motherboard, every little thing is working fine.Flashed BIOS to from 0404 to 0501..Another new BIOS is posted on Asus web ver.0602.I am working with i7 930 CPU and win 7 64bit Ultimate.Method is rapidly and i am pleased with it. Had challenge with installation CPU cooler..Did not use original Intel from the box.Initially i tried Corsair H50 - could not install since on the back of motherboard there is high sufficient soldering ,so i could not location here backing plate.Second try was Zalman CNPS9900NT CPU cooler..Here also i could not install this cooler simply because bunch of capacitors about CPU socket.Lastly i utilized Asus TRITON 79 Wonderful with LGA 1366 Upgrade kit..This time, almost everything went smootly,no difficulty with installation of backing plate. Would be fascinating if other individuals post here what sort of CPU cooler were using.

I appreciate the ASUS BIOS, and the truth that it is SATA 6GB/s ready. Anything hooks up properly and the header adapters make attaching everything uncomplicated. The PCI slots are covered by any modern video card. I use 460's in SLI and now have no PCI slots accessible. Also, the sideways SATA ports can be hard to get plugs in to. I get that it is a MicroATX board but couldn't a couple ports get put in upright? Make certain you understand this is the MICRO ATX VERSION, its not the complete size. I mistakenly ordered this a single (it nevertheless performs, but I just encountered the PCI slot blocking issue) but I nonetheless appreciate it. Also this is more affordable :)

Looks great. It genuinely is a beatuful tiny board. It posted instantly on the initially try energy up. Windows 7 64 bit installed beautifully. It's been running flawlessy for days with 6 gigs of Mushkin Ridgeback RAM, Corsair H50 cooler, i7 950, and a 64 Gig C300 SSD. I actually don't have a single complaint. Asus utility computer software sucks. Locked up the machine instantly. I won't take away any eggs because I wouldn't have utilised it anyway. Just wanted to have a look. Perfect for a little construct that packs a critical punch!

You can use it, as soon as cut into pieces, as fishing lures. Random crashes, random resets, and completely unreliable. This worked - for about three weeks - then started exhibiting random reboots and other odd behavior. Wrote it off as a video dilemma as the video was underpowered for the OS (Win7). After a video upgrade - it no longer reboots randomly. It doesn't reboot at all - blue screen of death each time correct soon after "starting windows". Purchase Gigabyte...rock strong.

If you can get it to perform fantastic. Booted up lengthy enough for me to install windows, restart - shut off - hibernate and so on worked for about three hours. When it worked it was an wonderful board. Im updating the assessment I had written at an earlier time. I just wanted to let everyone know that receiving in touch with Asus tech help wasn't even attainable - I was told to give them my telephone number and that they would call me back. This was never ever accomplished at all and I had named about 5 occasions a number of different days. Like I had mentioned before I received 2 defective boards in a row that refused to post. Tryed all attainable solutions but absolutely nothing remedied the concern and Asus was not obtainable for any help with my concern. Decided to return the product to Newegg - I did not end up paying a restocking or shipping fee. I referred to as up Newegg about returning my RMA and the associate I named was nice adequate to notice that the product I was returning was defective so she took off the restocking fee as nicely as gave me a free of charge UPS shipping label - This was the only time I was pleased and satisfied in dealing with the item. All in all i decided to go with the new EVGA SLI three board that came out recently, their tech support appears a lot far better and so does their RMA and warranty. I have the solution to be sent a board Ahead of i send the defective board back with them which is a huge plus. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,We apologize for the problems that you were experiencing with this motherboard and for the difficulty and inconvenience you endured to troubleshoot these issues.
